Scanner camera mk3 Screen, SD card storage, portable battery for power, live view screen, 14mp Made from an old 35mm film scanner. All components are separated light box is removed then it is attached to the SLR filem camera. The sensor is a 3.3x crop converting a 50mm lens to 165mm. It has a battery allowing it to be portable. The sensor is placed centrally where the film would be placed. To take a picture the camera has to be winded on and mirror locked up allowing u to focus using live view. Current flaws Focus need adjusting currently 5m to 0.25m allowing for macro focusing. This also only captures infrared light due to the sensor to prevent this a IR blocking filter needs to be added. Next step Further progresses this design encourparting the battery power and make small enough to fit in a 35mm film cassette so that it can be used on multiple film cameras. Also increase sensor size for quality.
Scanner camera kodak test shots The sensor is able to capture images in focus. It is also able to capture imperfections in sensors which most modern day cameras correct. This is successful in showing the workings of digital photography. It also captures a different light spectrum IR light.
Scanner camera Mk2 Converting an old 110 kodak film camera to shoot digital. I removed the sensor from an old film scanner and the lens so that the sensor is left bare. Then it is placed into the camera. To capture an image the original software is used via computer. The camera was also modified to allowing a continuous flow of light. To do this I remov the shutter. The aperture is small due to the camera design around f5.6-8 this means it will need to have a lot of light to shoot. Also due to the size of the sensor the lens becomes a telephone photo lens around 200mm.
Reflex polaroid conversio first test First test with film was succesful, with zero light leaks ! Framing and focusing matches that in the viewfinder. The only correction that needs to be made is the width of the image. This can be adjusted by removing part of the metal back that holds the polaroid film.
Modified 1/4 plate press camera Modified an old 1900s press camera by upgrading the lens to a 5x4 sinar 150mm 5.6 and a polaroid back. Focus from infinity to 1.5 feet macro and shoots full frame polaroid.
Shooting glass plates using luqid light First test using liquid light was successful the images were shot at iso 1 however are slightly contrasty so need to be reshot at iso1.5. Glass used was picture frame glass at 2mm that was custom cut. Stop bath was not needed during this process as it distorted some of the images. Do not leave the flash in sunlight to dry as this causes the emulsion to lift and the image is destroyed.
Converting an old brass lens to sony Old magic later lens converted to sony next mount with focusing . However with this type of projector lens the aperture is fixed. Pictures qre unedited and produces sharp out come with a soft over tone
Holga modified to tamron lens mount, infinity focus calibrated , 6x6 on 120 film
Bring brownie folding camera up to date
Scanner camera Old 35mm scanner adapted for IR photography using an old brownie camera and breaking down an old scanner. Captures pics on sd cards with a viewing screen powered by an old battery case
Nikonos to Sony A7 home made lens mount Using old school underwater lenses on digital body
Took the 100 year old camera out for another spin.
This camera just keeps surprising me , each time I use it I learn more allowing me to capture the world in a whole new way. I managed to capture the snow before it was even touched. Results will be posted soon. Third time in the field keeping up with the cold weather.
Finally developed the film from the 100 year old camera , second time in the field Finally getting the hang of using this 100 year old antique camera. With all the problems being sorted one by one .The sinar lens is a dream to shoot on producing some sharp high quality negatives. First time the developing went okay as well.
Finally the results from the bin bag walk in camera Not bag for a pile of bin bags taped together to make a pinhole camera , exposure times where quick around 3sec and the camera was not fully light tight. But still managed to capture 16x20 negatives.
Taking pinhole photography to a new level This weird contraption is a new pinhole camera design. It allows you to walk into the camera and actually see what's happening inside. Pictures will be uploaded so so you can see what this mess can do.
Trolly camera Finally developed pictures from the trolly camera , reveals a super wide angle and some interesting light. They produced a surreal effect with an overall dark lighting. Not bad for a trolly
