So while I was getting my haircut, the lady asked me if I had other plans for the day and I said:
“I’m just going to pick up the boy from daycare and then it’s date night.”
And the lady says “Oh! How old is he?”
“He’s three.”
“Mine too! Where are you registering him for kindergarten it’s such a hassle-”
And that’s when I realized I said “boy” and not “dog” because I always think of Charlie as “good boy” but this slip up has lead to a miscommunication.
The lady is now 6 minutes into a clearly needed rant about how unnecessarily complex shopping for schools is, esp when you have a neurodivergent child, so I can’t just tell her that Charlie is a dog because then she’ll feel awkward for unloading on me and she clearly has enough going on.
So the rest of the haircut became a game of “how much can I say about Charlie without revealing that he is not a human child?” And the answer is “enough to cover a half hour hair appointment, quite possibly several hours worth if I’m specific enough”
“is he very verbal?”
“It really depends on who he’s with. He’s very quiet at he but won’t shut up if he’s at the park or has a friend over.”
“was it hard to potty-train him?”
“he’s adopted, but I was genuinely amazed at how good he already was with hygene and potty stuff.”
“mine’s just obsessed with paw patrol and Frozen, drives me crazy!”
“I imagine. Charlie is colorblind so he’s not as into tv, but he always wants a toy if I take him anywhere with them.”
“oh gosh the toys! And the kids are so rough on them!”
“yeah Charlie can destroy a stuffed animal in about 2 minutes, so I only buy him the really cheap ones.”
“Does he throw tantrums when they break?”
“Not really. It’s meditative, really, taking them apart. He has hysterics if the cat takes his toys though. Runs downstairs and cries at me until I retrieve it because he’s not tall enough to get it out of the cat tree.”

my apartment has a mold infestation that could kill me
long story short, my apartment has a mold problem. i already went to management about it, and their response was to clean the outside of the wall with bleach, despite the fact that it has grown through the wall from the bathroom cabinet.
i was gonna just leave it be, but two weeks ago i started having chest pain, trouble breathing, coughing up blood, and sleeping for 18 hour stretches. i ended up going to the er for it, and realized a few days later that it was caused by the mold. i have asthma from past mold exposure, and i had very similar symptoms the first time i got exposed to mold as a teen.
because i didn’t have a place to go, i ended up trying to stay with my mom, despite her history of abusing me both verbally and physically.
after trying to stay with my mom for two weeks ive realized that it really isnt an option for me. she does things like take money from me, asks me to lend her money all the time, and expects me to pay for things i shouldn’t have to pay for. alongside this, she is also very verbally abusive and not at all understanding of my limitations. she constantly calls me lazy and a burden because i am too tired to help as much as she wants me to around the house, despite the fact that i work 50+ hours a week.
her house is too far away from me to uber to and from work, and i am unable to use the bus system because of the nature of my disabilities. she often refuses to drive me, always ends up making me late, and refuses to pick me up from work at all, meaning that i am usually spending 20-40 dollars on uber a day.
i was initially going to try and live with her to save money, as well as possibly apply for disability, but im realizing now that living with her is impossible if i want to keep myself from being suicidally depressed, even sicker than usual, and absolutely miserable.
on top of this, my apartment complex is refusing to fully get rid of the mold in my apartment. this means that i need to find a roommate situation somewhere else, as i cant afford to get another studio on my own. roommate situations are between 500-700/month here in phoenix, with 300-400 dollar security deposits.
i need to raise at least 1,100 dollars to secure a safe place for myself to live. this includes first month’s rent and a security deposit.
i also still have a 250 dollar er copay that ive been billed, as well as a 100 dollar urgent care visit from last week due to strep throat.

Don’t just accept the new Terms of Service
Tumblr’s at it again, thanks to the new European Privacy Laws. There’s probably nobody who will read this, but it pissed me off so much that I decided to make a post about it. (Ignore the weird language mish-mash, depending on your country the language might differ.)
OK, so many of us get this screen when we try to access our dash:
Realise how the ‘OK’ button is a nice, attention-grabbing blue? If you’re like me, you’re not exactly into reading a 100 pages document and tend to just click it.
My tip? DONT. Instead click on ‘Manage Options’ right next to it:

Still pretty harmless, right? That ‘Accept’ button is looking really attractive right now. Instead, click on Verwalten (Probably something like ‘Manage Options’ or something in english) and you’ll get to this page:
Now that’s not too bad, right? I just switched all the buttons to ‘off’, because I’m jealously guarding my personal information and don’t want Tumblr to go off and do who knows what with it. Looks like we’re done! But wait: There’s a SHOW option.
When we click on that one, what we will get is this:
A HUGE list with OVER 300 ENTRIES of companies that can use your data by default if you’d just clicked ‘OK’ on that very first page. Coincidence that this list is hidden that much? Me thinks not. They’re all switched on by default, but I am still a petty bitch that doesn’t want to give out her data, so I switched them all off. All 300+ of them. There is no option to switch them all off at once, and even if you disable all the options above, the companies are still switched on.
(If you wonder how i got that number, I copied the list into excel and looked at the cell number. No way am I actually counting all those entries)
I too, am a petty bitch who unticked every single one.
If you already clicked OK previously and want to go back and click all the buttons like the petty bitch you are, just go to your Privacy settings on tumblr and uncheck the “Cookie consent” button.
You’ll get the terms of service screen again an you can follow the above instructions.
