Do it scared but please don't do it hungry. Please don't do it dehydrated. It's gonna make it so much scarier. Please.
I know we’re all like lawless nonconformists but you really can’t be texting and driving. that’s one of the ones you’ve gotta listen to for real
Not even at stoplights!!! I know it’s so so tempting to just glance at your phone when you’re stopped, but there’s actually something called “distraction hangover” where even once you put your phone down, your brain is still processing the interaction and isn’t fully paying attention to the road for up to 30 seconds afterwards. So it’s still really dangerous even if you’re stopped when you look at your phone. If you need to check something on your phone, pull over.
this especially applies to people with adhd. you know that symptom you may have heard of called “difficulty transitioning between tasks”? you don’t want piloting a ton or two of potential death to be the task you can’t mentally switch back to.
Interesting! I hadn't heard of the "distraction hangover" before, turns out because it's pretty recent research!
A highlight in the history of uninvited cats on stage has to be the premiere of Rossini's Barbiere di Siviglia:
... during the finale, a cat arrived, and mingled with the performers. [Figaro] chased it from one side, it returned from the other side to throw itself at the legs of [Bartolo]. ... the audience imitated its meows and encouraged it to continue its improvised role.

harry potter fans in 2025
people DESPERATE in the notes to explain why the way THEY engage with harry potter is morally pure. It's like white people talking about rap music in there! Libraries buy the books! Fanfiction maintains a conversation around the IP! There is NO WAY to enjoy harry potter in 2025 without publicly supporting JK Rowling!
Please stop fucking reading it so the library doesn't have to pay her money. I am a transgender librarian and I am not allowed to not replace old damaged HP books, people read them so we need to have them on our shelves, and what she does with the money doesn't factor into it.
STOP READING HARRY FUCKING POTTER.
I used to be into it! In-depth character analysis, wizard rock, irl quidditch, but when she outed herself as a piece of shit, I couldn't support it anymore!
ASK YOUR LIBRARY FOR OTHER BOOKS TO READ AND STOP READING HARRY FUCKING POTTER.
alright folks shit's about to get real (again)
Markup for the SCREEN ACT and KOSA is going to the Senate on WEDNESDAY AUGUST 5TH 2026. That's in TWO DAYS.
You need to contact your representatives and senators. We need to stop this nonsense unless we want to wind up like the UK.
Call them. Send emails. Write letters. Use these resources to figure out who to contact and what to say. Let them know we will VOTE THEM OUT if they vote in favor of any of these bills.
Various federal and state bills have been introduced to require age verification for internet platforms. While the purported purpose of thes
All of the bad internet bills. One website.
The future of the internet depends on us.

HAPPENING TODAY PEOPLE!
It's do or die, we Cannot let KOSA pass.
So call your Senators today people!!!
Mention that on page 19, lines 19-20 have a "Should know or Should've Known" clause that basically forces conpanies to adopt some sort of Age verification to avoid getting sued.
Which is pressure from the government and a threat to our rights to privacy and our first amendment right tonfree speech.
Also mention how this is the House version of KOSA, which the Senate HATES!
Get to calling, we need to save the internet and our privacy!
KOSA has passed the Committee, but it has yet to hit the Senate Floor.
But we can still do something about it.
KEEP CALLING YOUR SENATORS!!!
Even call the Senators outside of your state. ALL of them!
I have compiled a list of Senators you need to call, so consider taking the time to call them.
I made it a checklist so you can check off which Senators you've called.
Reblogs would be super appreciated.
The more people to fight this, the more likely we'll get KOSA, which is contained in the KIDS Act (HR 7757). Dead and buried.
July 22, 2026 - People around the USA are taking down Flock AI surveillance cameras. [video]
Find license plate readers (LPRs) near you.
direct action works!!
physically interfering with the cameras is highly effective but obviously it's not a type of activism that's accessible to everyone — so if like me you think warrentless surveillance is never ever ever a reasonable thing for a government to do, but you're also like me and can't personally climb camera poles to dismantle that shit:
check out the August 16-22 week of action!
Mass surveillance doesn't equal safety. Join the movement to dismantle automated license plate readers in our communities.
big and small cities all over the US (and one so far in Canada!) are holding events like education sessions, marches, and public lobbying meetings with the local governments and police departments that decide whether to spend taxpayer money on warrantless surveillance. maybe my city and yours can join the nearly 100 places that have already rejected or ended contracts for mass privacy violation cameras.
this video has been the last hinge holding me together for weeks now. I need to watch it once a day or I'll start disintegrating
heres the translation I found online for fellow enjoyers
@demegods

artists, have you ever drawn something that’s just so extremely powerful and moving that you’re worried that for the rest of your life you’ll never be able to create another drawing that evokes that much emotion, that much feeling? that for as long as you live you’ll never be able to make something better, and anything you create afterwards is just a waste? anyway this is mine
