Hijri made his way back to the ground, set Ochazuke down and picked up his sandals while he was bent over.

"Hey, don’t be like that. I’m asking you out for coffee because I don’t know you. It must be some kinda fate that you came along when I was rescuing Ochazuke." Ochazuke meowed and trotted after Hijiri as he made his way to the girl he hoped he’d get to drink coffee with soon.

"I’m Hijiri Mutsuki, and I’d hate to wake up one morning, five, ten years from now and think, ‘Wow, I should’ve asked that cutie with the bob cut and the sharp eyes out for coffee when I had the chance.’"

He gave her a pat on the shoulder. “So I’ll get the three of us something to eat and drink. And then maybe some karaoke after that. People tell me I’ve got a great singing voice.”

Inwardly, Akira was shaking her head. Outwardly, she was trying very hard not to shake her head. And what kind of name was Ochazuke for a cat? Honestly.

The name he gave her gave her a funny feeling for a moment; for the briefest of moments, she felt as though she should be remembering something. But the sensation was gone as soon as it came, and forgotten without much trouble as Hijiri Mutsuki continued speaking. 

"Akira Asagi," She gave her name in return instead, pondering for a moment. The guy was persistent, she had to admit, so it'd probably be more painless to tag along. She supposed it couldn't do much harm. "Alright, Hijiri-kun. Coffee then. We'll see about karaoke." Could you even bring animals to karaoke? She wondered if he had considered that.

Hijiri squinted down at the girl; she looked flustered. Cute. He made sure his grip on Ochazuke was secure and started making his way down, one-handed.

And as he made his way back to terra firma, he shouted, “Who’s joking? I’m serious.”

"You’re worried about us, right? Well, I’ll treat you to coffee, and you can take as much as you want checking us over." Of course, Hijiri’d already given Ochazuke a once-over. He figured that Ochazuke was a bit stressed, which would be fixed by getting out of the tree, and maybe a bit hungry, which he could fix once they got back on the ground. But why brush aside such concern from a stranger?

Unimpressed was perhaps the best word to describe Akira's feelings at the moment. Honestly, she didn't even know this guy and he was already asking her out for a drink. Still, perhaps she'd brought it upon herself for meddling.

"If you can say things like that, then you're probably fine, right? Besides, we don't know each other; inviting me out to coffee before you even know my name is odd."

Perhaps she couldn't talk; it was odd to fret over a stranger, too, after all, and sticking around for so long instead of just checking over and walking away was maybe odd behaviour on her part. But still. At least the cat seemed to be okay.

While Hijiri had the sort of sensitive ears you’d expect from a musician, he was also a decently fast tree climber. By the time he gained an audience, he was high enough that she’d need to shout for him to hear her, and she wasn’t shouting. He climbed up to Ochazuke, secured his friend, and finally glanced down to the ground and saw that he was no longer alone.

Hijiri Mutsuki was many things, and one of those things was a gentleman who couldn’t ignore a lady, especially a lady who was staring up at him like that.

So, holding Ochazuke to his chest, he yelled down at her, “How ‘bout we discuss this over some coffee?”

Really? Really? Was a comment like that really necessary? Especially coming from a guy up a tree with a cat in his arms. Akira would never understand it, truthfully. But perhaps she was simply naive in that respect; she didn't have many friends after all. Who knew.

"Don't joke around like that!" She called up to him, folding her arms. "At any rate, be careful up there!" He had the cat to take care of too, and if he wasn't careful, he and the poor thing would come tumbling down. That wouldn't be good for anyone involved, and certainly unpleasant to watch.
