perhaps a person was never meant to be fully known, not even to themselves.
every act of looking changes the thing being looked at, and the self is no exception. the moment you ask who you are, something in you begins arranging itself into an answer. even solitude has an audience.
but what if it was never a tragedy to begin with; to spend an entire lifetime inhabited by someone you can never fully meet, to carry a stranger so intimately that you mistake their mysteries for your own.
perhaps we are both the haunting and the house.
