Today was the second time I went to Stokesley. I returned not only to walk around what is a very charming place but to have afternoon tea at Lotti's Voluptuous Delights. I fell head over heels with this cafe, boasting shabby chic interior with clashing florals and vintage patterns, the cafe is the perfect place for tea. Other than its cute decor, the cafe has a lovely selection of drinks both hot and cold, my personal favourite is the Strawberry Lemonade Hot Tea! For the afternoon tea we were given a selection of delicious sandwiches, two scones and two sizeable cakes. Today we sampled the date and honey and strawberry/lime drizzle scone and the earl grey and blueberry cake. Simply delicious! Lotti's also hosts cocktail, music and tapas evenings and has a new selection of cakes daily. For anybody who enjoys the charming and cheerful vintage settings I would strongly advise going here. The fresh flowers and retro tunes are the cherry on top.

When we were in London for a week during June my friends and I came across this charming coffee shop called Suzzle on 47 Brick Lane. Also used as a gallery, this cosy cafe served up lovely drinks and even lovelier cakes. I sampled the chocolate and pistachio brownie and it was delicious!

I love baking, I find it very therapeutic and extremely fun! Over the years I have been baking, I have been experimenting with ginger cake, trying to find the best recipe. This is because as a child, one of my fondest memories are going to my Grandma's house and being greeted by the smell of freshly baked gingerbread cake. Still to this day it is my favourite! So when my Grandma sadly passed the recipe was lost and some 14 years later my mam found it! It included thing such as black pepper and coffee that was never in recipes I had previously tried. Here's my first attempt and I'm pretty pleased with it!
