i know this is my inner researcher being annoying and quirky, but i do dislike on that graph (1) not showing the full scale, only 3-5 which exaggerates the differences between groups and (2) the lack of errorbars. the figure caption says statistical tests were performed (and shown in a table), so why no errorbars on this graph? i get what she's saying, but it's impossible to draw conclusions about significant differences from such a shitty graph.

here's the tables mentioned, they actually do confirm and give a clearer picture of the argument in the tiktok:
TL;DR: cis men and trans women score similarly in terms of liberal perspectives, cis women are more liberal than trans women, lesbian and gay people are more liberal than any other group (divided by sexual orientation). trans-identified people are less likely to support laws helping poor people, implying they (or at least the sample) are wealthy. despite not supporting pro-women policies, trans women are more likely than cis men to identify as feminist.

for interpretation of the numbers below, higher F means the variable of interest (sexual orientation for table 2, gender identity for table 3) explains more of the difference. equal/not equal is based on significance at p = 0.001. (averages circled for clarity). higher scores = more liberal on the scale.
overall (line g) lesbian and gay individuals were significantly more liberal than bisexual individuals (2 != 3). heterosexual individuals were less liberal than any other group (1 != 2-5), and scored lower than all or most groups on every metric.
overall (line g), cis men scored lower than cis women and nonbinary (1 !=2,5), cis women and non-binary scored higher than trans women (2 !=3, 3 != 5). given the omission from the comparison, i assume trans men did not differ significantly overall from any other group. this was really surprising to the researchers, as they expected cis men to score significantly lowest overall.
given this is radblr, we're all most interested in line e -- this represents a yes (1) or no (0) response to the question "In general, I support laws and policies that help women." interestingly (and perhaps unsurprisingly), the highest score for this was cis women (0.81/1) as well as nonbinary (0.78/1). both groups scored significantly higher on this metric than both trans women and cis men, who in turn did not score significantly differently from each other.
something caught my eye on this table. if trans women are not significantly more likely compared to cis men to express support from pro-women policies, why do they score significantly higher than men on feminist identity (and higher than everyone else, not significant though).
i took another peek at the methods.
For feminist identity, responses were coded as (0) for those that indicated “No, do not consider myself to be a feminist and I disagree with feminism” or “No, I do not consider myself to be a feminist,” and coded as (1) for those that indicated “Yes, I consider myself to be a feminist” or “Yes, I consider myself to be a strong feminist.”
strangely, more trans women identify as feminist than support pro-women policies (and vice versa for cis women).

If you like museums you should do Washington DC. Almost all of the cool museums here are entirely free to everybody, and there is decent public transit that will take you out into the smaller towns or toward Appalachia. I hate living here sometimes but it's a really neat place.

The case could still change, but as of the current information, this massive viral "racist karen" video that tens of millions have seen turned out to just be a group of people harassing this poor woman. It was HER bike she paid for, her lawyer provided receipts and the rental app confirmed it was the same bike. According to her, she was on it and about to leave when this group of people went up to her, shoved her on the bike, locking the bike back in the charger and ending her session (which the receipts show, she paid for that bike, but the session ended just a minute after paying without moving, and then she paid for another bike to go home) and then started filming and yelling at her that it was their bike.
She had just finished a TWELVE HOUR SHIFT and was pregnant! Of course these strangers harassing her caused her to break down and yell and cry, I would! Once again people claiming that they can tell "fake white woman tears" when body language analysis is fucking bunk. This woman has been put on LEAVE for her job.
I don't know if it was an accident where they thought it was their bike, or it was malicious clout chasing for views, but considering she proved it WAS HER BIKE, she is owed at least an apology from them. Far fewer people are going to see the correction, so she's forever branded the "racist bike karen" and all the employment and social issues that come with that.
i’m so wounded by other people’s success and it makes me feel so selfish. i guess it comes from the idea that i’m owed something for everything i’ve been through, but i don’t know what i want in retribution so all i can do is envy others who have what i don’t. eventually it circles back to bitterness and dismissal because if i don’t have it, how can it be good? it hurts to be ambitious with no direction. i want to do something but nothing is ever worth doing.
