This is it. This is the moment - the one where she has to make a choice. Protect the world, protect the last Airbenders, protect innocent children, protect your friend’s family in what could, very possibly, be a suicidal move - or protect yourself.

She looks so devastatingly sad.

//She does make a choice here…But she also assesses what she has to fight for. Think about it. She fought for Tenzin, but she lost him to Pema…She’s always fought for Republic City, to protect it and her squad, just like her mother…But than she lost her squad, and resigned from her position…So when she’s looking at Tenzin and family, she sees that he has so much more to fight for than her…And she loves him so much, that she doesn’t want him to lose it, like she lost what she fought for…So she sacrifices everything. Literally everything she has left, just to save him from that pain, and to save the air-benders from extinction.

My respect and love for this woman is limitless.
