I just remembered when I made that post about my maga boss ranting to me about how problematic empathy is and how it’s a weakness of modern society. And then a week later Elon musk was on Rogans podcast talking about how empathy is suicide. This is just such a dark cynical cruel time we’re living in. Huge swaths of the world just intentionally numbing themselves to anyone else’s pain like they’re practicing some kind of evil Buddhist mindfulness to train their minds to dehumanize everyone
