it was evening, and tetsu had been on his way to visit downtown and see if he could find a couple things he needed; mostly, it was just stuff for his usual workout routine, and since hugh wasn’t around to use as a weight for his pushups, he needed to find something else suitable for him. he didn’t have anything he needed to specifically buy, so long as it balanced on his back it was good enough for him.

nearing a shop, tetsu was about to enter, but was stopped suddenly by one of the televisions flickering. confused and curious, he stared at it before a human shape materalized from it. now, in front of him, was another human being.

he blinked. and stared. and stared more. it wasn’t a shocked stare, no, but simply a blank stare. a very, very long blank stare. he could not process the situation; last time he checked, humans didn’t come out of computers. he wasn’t sure if he felt concerned, confused, or anything at all.

“Did you just cough up blood?!”

"...oh, hey, big bro mahi.” he’s fine, probably. most likely. aside from the blood everywhere, but... it wasn’t something to get worked up about. maybe he’ll give mahiru a thumbs up for reassurance.

Okay so maybe he should have been keeping a better eye on where he was going because clearly he was more worried about the art supplies in his arms then he was watching where he was going in the street. He was looking over the order receipt he had and was making sure everything he needed was there. He shifted his arms to double check that he indeed did have all the sketch books he ordered counting them down in his head, “Sketch, watercolor, acrylic, oil, ma-” He slammed directly into someones chest causing the bags held close to his chest to fall making a terrible clattering sound. 

Satoshi glanced up adjusting his  glasses to see who he had run into muttering out a, “Sorry.” Clearly embarrassed that he had run into someone. He quickly swooped down to  get out of the others way and start gathering things back into the shopping bags.

it wasn’t uncommon for people to run into tetsu; he was very tall and easy to run into if one wasn’t looking, and frankly, it happened quite often. other people were just too short, and from time to time he would miss a couple of really short ones and collide into them. this person happened to be one of those people.

the collision on tetsu’s side was barely anything; he wobbled slightly, but besides that, didn’t flinch. however, for the stranger who had run into him, wasn’t so lucky as his belongings were scattered all over the concrete. after a pause, tetsu bent over to help the stranger gather them.

“sorry,” he apologized, handing back a sketchbook, “i didn’t see you there.” he felt bad for acting so careless, and hoped to make it up to this man by gathering the sketchbooks for him. it was the right thing to do, after all.

❝ a pet-sized vampire, huh…? ❞ That was intriguing even to Tsurumaru. He’d most definitely be lying to himself if he said he had absolutely no interest in finding out what a pet-sized vampire was like at all. ❝ you know, that actually sounds cool. imagine the surprises you could pull with a pet-sized vampire! ❞

❝ is your vampire friend around, then? why don’t you call him out so that i can say hi? ❞  

❝ i’ve never been to school before, and i don’t really know what a principal is, but i guess it’s because you’re not even supposed to bring coffins there in the first place? ❞ It was getting clearer to Tsurumaru that this stranger here had little to no clue as of how outlandish he really seemed with that coffin of his. Not like it was his business — the other was free to do whatever he wanted — but he couldn’t help but feel, say, somewhat embarrassed for him? ❝ me? get a coffin? eh, it seems too much of a bother. ❞

“can’t right now. i’m lookin’ for him, though.” he scratched the back of his head while he answered. he hadn’t seen him since he got here; which, despite the answer being obvious, he couldn’t quite understand why.

tetsu tilted his head in confusion at tsurumaru’s comment. he didn’t see reason why he couldn’t bring a coffin to school; it wasn’t like he was planning to hurt anybody with it, right? of course, he didn’t have much say in the matter. “i’ve got to follow the rules, even if they don’t make sense.” it wasn’t that big of a deal, the bigger problem was getting his vampire to settle for being cramped inside of his bag.

speaking of vampires and coffins, this guy might be able to help him with this issue. “that’s right... have you seen a vampire around lately? he’s a midget, wears a cape and hat, and stuff.” despite it being obvious that the stranger’s never seen such a thing, tetsu was a bit too oblivious and forgetful to notice that.

There was no need for Izuku to stretch, but he did roll his shoulders. Upon hearing the other’s name, he gave a warm smile. “It’s nice to meet you, Sendagaya! And alright – 3…2…1″

Not a moment later after he muttered the word ‘one’, Izuku used all of this strength to toss it into the air. It flew upwards, going above both of the teenager’s heads. Bending his knees, the young hero leapt into the air in the attempts to grab it, however, his fingers couldn’t quite reach the ball – simply, that toss was too high for him.

‘No need to worry, I can still try and get it.’

what a great throw, tetsu noted to himself as he watched the ball fly upwards, over his head. however, izuku didn’t make a great jump. tetsu reached for the ball as it was coming down, grabbing it easily with both hands before it hit the floor.

“you don’t need to throw it that high,” he commented, “if you make all your throws like that, there’s no way you can catch the ball.” after all, this kid was way too short. he wouldn’t mind helping him if he needed it, though.

preparing to toss the ball back to izuku, he took a step back. despite just informing the other boy not to put so much power into a single toss, tetsu enforced his strength into tossing the ball back; it wasn’t on purpose, he just wasn’t aware of his own strength at times. the ball flew directly towards the other’s stomach at an alarming speed. that was going to hurt.

tetsu scratched the back of his head. “oh, oops. my bad.”

On such a warm day, Yato continues to whistle joyfully enjoying the positiveness in his mood. Today for instance, he has done all of his jobs successfully with any obstacles to distract him. Since he’s been dropped into this world, he was unable to fully enjoy his days and feel confident.

Once the stranger approaches him eagerly, he blinks; incertitude crossing his expression. ‘A coffin? Was this a murderer?!’ Unsure how to react, he just crosses his arms and grinned. Although it wasn’t a direct plea, he decides from the kindness and geneorisity of his heart that he would help the guy out. Plus, the thought of having an additional five yen in his pocket bemused the delivery God.

“So, you’re looking for a coffin, eh? I hope you do realize that I am YATO, the delivery God, at your service! I can most definitely help you in your coffin quest for just five yen! Listen kiddo, this is a completely once in a lifetime opportunity you’ll get that thing of yours back in a blink of an eye I can promise that!”

a price of five yen... that was basically free, right? if this guy was going to do it for free, he could’ve just said so, unless there was some sort of tactic he was using that he hadn’t caught on to yet.

“i see. you price your services dirt cheap to encourage everyone to use it. you’ve got some good ideas.” he wrote a little note in his brain to remember that next time. maybe it was possible for him to use that trick for a hot spring, too. he’ll have to try it when he gets the chance.

that thought aside, tetsu had a more important matter to handle. he handed the god his five yen before describing his missing coffin. “it’s black, big enough to hold a person, n’ impossible to break through.” he didn’t exactly know how else to describe it, aside from that. despite being such a large item, it blended in with its surroundings incredibly easily, so he’s lost sight of it a few times before. with some help, he knew he’d be able to find it again.

Truth to be told, Tsurumaru had never really quite believed in the supernatural — but he supposed he did know a thing or two about vampires. ❝ that’s surprising. you’ve a pet vampire of some sort? how believable is that supposed to be? ❞ 

❝ nothing weird about coffins themselves, if you ask me. ❞ What, was he utterly oblivious to the fact that he was actually the only one around carrying a coffin and walking down the streets? Tsurumaru had been around for, say, a thousand years or so — but witnessing someone doing something like this was a first time for him.

"yes, a vampire. he’s not really a pet, though. i guess pet sized, maybe,” tetsu answered, holding his chin as if considering the idea. would a vampire be considered a pet? that’d be pretty cool, though he wasn’t sure his vampire would like the idea; being a true vampire and all, or whatever he would say.

he supposed he had a few instance where he didn’t carry his coffin around. for instance, he could still recall the first incident he had regarding it.

“yeah, mostly. i can’t bring it to school, though,  i got sent to the principal’s office and had to take it home. not sure why, though,” he shrugged simply, “other than that i can take it anywhere. pretty useful, too. you should get one.” that’s right, he didn’t see why nobody else could have their own coffin. he can store things in it, use it for advertising, and it makes a pretty useful weapon, too. what’s the downside, really, he couldn’t tell.
