United Auto Workers sit-down strike (1936)
this strike won them a 5% pay increase and the right to talk during lunch, in case you needed a reminder that if capital had its way your worklife would be entirely dystopian
This seems topical again.
ââŠand the right to talk during lunchâŠâ
Think about the bastardly* boss-worker attitude of THAT.
*Itâs a word now.
Zionists have been saying "from the river to the sea" for 75 fucking years, but only now do we have a problem with those phrases.
The Republican War On Women has been happening for centuries.
We peacefully fight back, and the Right get more violent. They are dying out.
The 2024 election must be overwhelming. Let's tell these Republicans their war is ending.
It was always a war on women.
America was only great for the rich white men. Never has it been for women.
That is the goal Matt!
Precisely what we have in mind, dude.
And we WILL...
I want the writerâs strike to last until they get everything they demand and more. I want the SAG strike to last until AI is entirely forbidden across the board in the entire industry. I want CGI artists to unionize and strike. I want animators to strike. I want composers and directors and designers and VAs and techies and producers and stage hands and game devs and programmers and recording artists to strike.
I want every aspect of the entertainment industry brought to a grinding halt for months or even years to take it from the corps and put it back in the hands of the artists.
GLOBAL GENERAL STRIKE 2023
Republicans are malware.
A Really Bad Trojan Horse.

This is what happened to us a few fire seasons back. Everything orange. Or grey. So dark that automatic lights were coming on, thinking it was dusk all the time. Couldnât see the water, much less across The Bay. SO...all you folks with breathing problems over there who donât know how to weather this, hereâs a few tips from an asthmatic seven-year California Fire Season veteran:
1. Itâs not enough to just close your windows, and doors to the outside. TAPE THEM SHUT from inside. ALL THE SEAMS. Use clear packing tape...it provides a SEAL, which even brand new windows will not give you. TAPE ALL THE WINDOWS AND OUTSIDE DOORS SHUT!
2. If you have an air conditioner, run it, and set it to recycle the room air ONLY. No fresh air. You should also tape around any openings, like the space between the stationary pane and the moving pane, if you have a window AC.
3. If you must go out, wear an N95 mask. They were giving them away to people with asthma, etc, whenever the air got this bad, pre-Covid. Now everybodyâs been through the mask hell, it should (I know, I know...) SHOULD make more sense as to WHY you might wanna fuckinâ wear one.
4. If you have to open a window, open it the slightest amount you can, and hang a WET CLOTH over the opening to help stop the intake of soot/smoke.
5. STAY HYDRATED. Keep your lungs clear...use hydration to break up any phlegm in your bronchials. Hot coffee helps, as well.Â
6. And if you have an air filter, like a Winix, turn it up to turbo-blast (fourth setting) and leave it there until the wind changes direction and the smoke and soot are not an issue. And keep that outer "pre-filter" vacuumed clean nightly. You'll see why when you do it.
The main point being, you have got to keep the bad air out of your home, as best you can, to avoid setting off your asthma or making your asthma worse.
Also don't forget to vote for better environmental protections and throw fascists into a chipper.
Alberta became the worst of us.

In the garden. VÀrmland, Sweden (May 22, 2022).
Y'all know what to do...
people portraying ghost as an abusive, cold-hearted and emotionless person is actually so sad... did we even play the same game? he obviously cares about soap and his other teammates
at this point just say y'all don't understand traumatized people. having trauma doesn't always make a person act horrible towards others, ghost is just very blunt and probably has issues with trusting people
but still, he's actually really nice to soap, throughout the campaign he's making lots of jokes and calling him "johnny". only he calls him that. also he literally put his military career on hold to help his brother quit drugs, even though he was bullied by him when they were kids
do you really think that same man would let himself treat others like shit when he spent his whole childhood being abused? he would hate himself if he did that, because then he would be just as horrible as his father
so for the love of god stop acting like he's some monster that hates everyone around him đ yeah, it might take him a while to warm up to people but that's expected considering what he went through
âSay that one more time, and I swear to God, Iâll-â
âYou should get out more.â
He looks at you with his arms crossed. Youâre both in the office today sorting files, and the past week has been truly hectic. For this reason, you and the team have planned an outing for tonight, and everyone is joining; everyone apart from Ghost who has bailed once again.
âWhy are you so obsessed with me going out with you?â He asks, obviously annoyed by your constant nagging.
âI just think itâd be fun,â you explain, âhaving the whole team together.â
He picks a pile of files from the ground and begins to sort them alphabetically.
âI donât think I have much to contribute in the âfunâ department,â he mutters under his breath.

for everyone who wants to make this bread, i found a few recipes
A delicious whole wheat, seeded, pull-apart sourdough bread from about 2000 years ago whose characteristics have been reconstructed by food
Based on carbonized loaves found in Pompeii, archeologists have recreated the recipe for Roman bread. Now, you can make it at home as well.
2,000 Year Old Bread Recipe From Pompeii
everyone asking how they knew the eggs were hardboiled instead of just being cooked by the eruption: have you ever eaten several raw eggs
idk maybe the romans were just built different. I mean they were hardcore enough to build a city next to an active volcano
the romans knew mount vesuvius was a volcano but thought it was extinct
Iâm tempted to try this but living in the shadow of Mt. Hood, Iâm a bit anxious. Â Iâd hate to be responsible for burying Portland, OR in volcanic ash.
Iâm gonna try it. No volcanoes anywhere nearby here in SF Bay. Whatâs the worst that could happen?
would forest fires occur?
