''Doesn't know what it's like to receive love''
Sweetie are you okay? You rebloged doesn't know what it's like to receive love 14 times today
i love the idea of matt ntb having to confront that he exists within a sexually desirable body. i think it's so interesting that matt johnson (real) was talking about how he doesn't think it's in character that matt ntb has gotten in really good shape and that he wanted jay to sound like he was saying "he's a bit fat, he's a bit f*cked" instead of "buff" in that scene. but I do think matt's physical transformation is such a fun place to play in universe because his character literally goes out of his way to hide that body at all costs. his big ripped jeans and his jacket and his oversized shirts, he's clearly not working out to look appealing, if anything I think someone drawing attention to how good he looks would make matt ntb very uncomfortable as someone who is shy and embarrassed about the fact that sex exists even as an existential concept. viewing his body through a lens in which sexual desirability could be applied and projected onto his appearance is like completely uncharted territory for a character like him. and I think it opens a lot of doors for some really interesting tension between matt ntb's motivations for his workouts vs the physical results of those actions. idk. getting a tshirt that says I <3 the forced confrontation of the physical self.

Is this anything
It intrigues me how the characters are cartoonish exaggerations of themselves up until they hit soft tissue, then they just flip the script. Matt is the clingy one trying to hitch himself to Jay’s star power. Jay has mommy issues. Matt’s biggest anxiety is being left behind by Jay. Jay’s biggest anxiety is being judged and misunderstood and perceived as uncool. Okay sure.

begging fellow nonblack people to take antiblackness seriously. this includes digital blackface. why are all your memes and reaction images depicting Black people showing any sort of emotion. why do you find it acceptable to use AAVE as a "joke". remove your head from your ass and ponder that for a moment.
reopening the wound tonite 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
can matt stop saying things. i have my OWN tall dark haired weirdo shaped hole in my chest to deal with. ok.
I'm gonna get so much mileage out of this one

edit: this post is about being covid cautious, like, currently, in 2024 2025 2026
The pathologization of anger needs to be talked about. What do you mean my therapist is telling me that there’s something “chemically wrong” with me because I am still angry about my mom DYING OF COVID.
of course I’m still angry? My mom and 1.3 million other Americans are dead and you want me to shoot sunshine out of my ass about it?
“But It’s been 3 years since she died, you have complex grief” yeah and she was on a ventilator for 11 days and she kept writing “I am scared” and “I don’t want to die” on a notepad over and over again. While you were still going out unmasked and unvaccinated and coughing all over each other, I was living a nightmare I couldn’t fucking wake up from. And every single day I’m reminded of it in the form of “haha wasn’t the pandemic such a wacky time haha” and “I’m not getting a booster you can’t make me 🤪 (nobody asked)” and “it’s not real they made the numbers up!!!”
“You’re not coping” Ok here’s the deal; I’ll stop feeling this anger when we have a national memorial (we don’t) or a cdc equipped to stop it from happening again (we don’t) or a population that takes a deadly disease seriously BEFORE it effects them personally (WE DON’T!)
until then, I’m pretty sure my anger is A COMPLETELY NORMAL HUMAN REACTION given the facts at hand
