Was rewatching iron lung whilst listening was finishing my knight Simon piece and I had a thought.

Ava tells Simon during it that if he does this, he can join the COI and shit like that. What if when he’s saved by grace and Rocky his first thought is “oh so Ava wasn’t lying. Wonder what the COI will make me do.” And he’s always confused when he asks Grace “hey, want me to do anything to help?” And Grace going “oh no you’re good!”

And as time goes on, Simon is just sat there doing nothing and it feels like he’s in prison again but a different kind because he never was able to do anything in that cell except for twiddling his thumbs. He doesn’t tell Grace about the COI until he kind of snaps at Grace.

“Why won’t you let me do anything to help?! Is it because of my past you don’t trust me?!”
