the chase || kim mingyu
part of the fic exchange collab by @studiosvt and for my beloved writer whom i adore soooo much, @minisugakoobies <3 happy holidays lovely, may the festivities be akin to your name, sunny :)
⚬ pairing: bestfriend! kim mingyu x fem! reader (uni au) ⚬ word count: 1.5k ⚬ warnings: mentions of food and alcohol, MDNI ⚬ genres: friends to lovers, idiots in love, implied fake dating, warm confessions and flufffff <33 ⚬ credits: to @starlightkyeom for taking a look at this for me and to @strangergraphics for the dividers! (also, to my own brain because i didnt know i had it in me to design cute banners omg!!)
Sometimes, you feel like you just might be the worst fucking friend to someone as golden-hearted as Mingyu, ever.
Now that's not a permanent belief, more like a tinge of a sour feeling that surges on days when he cooks breakfast for you, packs it hot in a Tupperware only for you to shove it in your bag and forget about it for the rest of the day. You end up eating the cold sludge of his hardened porridge after sending him a hundred crying emojis with multiple 'tytytyyy gyuuu' for dinner.
Or when he makes notes for you and you tease him for his messy labeling.
Or when he leaned in, drunk and dazed, at Seungkwan's party last month — full, parted lips stained with wine a mere hair's breadth away from your own and you…you turned your face the other way.
Not because you didn't want to kiss him, but because kissing him then would have meant picking up a chisel and hammering it hard against your stone cold chest to make way for him.
That same guilty feeling of being horrible friend for washing over his warmth with your frost crawls up in your gut again.
You lick the expensive gloss off your lips for the third time tonight. A gloss that he bought you as a gift—one of many, for Christmas.
"Nervous?" He remarks from beside you, one hand expertly swerving the steering wheel while the other picks the gloss up from his dashboard and extends it towards you.
"Kinda," you mumble, accepting the gloss from him and dabbing the lush, slick wand over your trembling lips. "Thanks."
He only leans back in his seat, tilts his head slightly towards you and watches you for a few long moments with a wary look in his eyes. A low, effortless smile begins curling his lips at your fidgety movements, but just before it can fully mature, he shakes his head and shifts his focus back to the road.
"I just—y'know?" you huff, "It's a fancy party…faculty and stuff."
"You'll be fine," he insists, slowing down in the parking, "it's just academia-oldies trying to prove they still got it. Worst case scenario, you find yourself caught between a debate over Kant. Best case scenario, we drink too much eggnog."
He undoes his seatbelt before doing the same for you with an effortless flick of his fingers—you don't even have to ask.
"Wrong. Best case scenario, I get that hot TA's number."
"You reek of desperation," Mingyu scoffs, "I told you, you gotta play nonchalant with that Seungcheol dude…guys dig that."
"Uh huh? And I think you're wrong."
"It's addicting," he says, his steps slowing down to match your pace, "the chase, I mean."
You snort. "Says the guy who has literally never had to chase."
"Oh?" he smiles, shoving the unlatched door open with his shoulder while never loosening his grip over your fingers. "You think I don't know ball?"
You follow him, looping another arm around his bicep, "I think you've been coaching me on how to get Seungcheol's attention for weeks…and coaches don't play."
There's already a distinct chatter emanating from beyond the hallway as Mingyu leads you both towards Dr. Sanchez's Christmas luncheon. The space is sparsely decorated, a few pieces of furniture stacked with finger-snacks and glasses full of sugary festive drinks. An eclectic jazz playlist strums through the warm air, all brushed cymbals and soft bass, trying very hard to feel young.
"Coaches, as a matter of fact, were once the most enthusiastic players before they ended up injured and hurt in the game," Mingyu muses philosophically, stealing off a cracker loaded with some sort of olive-cheese garnish before smiling low at someone behind you, "am I right Coach Davis?"
The coach of the college's football team greets you both with a kind, jolly smile. The deep flush of his cheeks informs you of his intentions of painfully elongating this conversation before his animated mannerisms can.
Drunk coach Davis is a talker, and you almost pinch Mingyu for ever calling out for his attention.
But before you can dig your nails into his honeyed skin washed in the soft golden glow of the inside lights, his thumb brushes ever so gently over the back of your palm that the mere softness of that touch wipes away all that makes you tensed.
How could anyone ever even think of hurting Mingyu?
Nothing about the conversation between the two men is warm and cozy, but you find your entire body sighing into a slow softness regardless. There's a thought, or more of a realization, knackering in your head—you can picture yourself getting used to this.
You don't know what it is that you want to familiarize yourself more with, though. The boring chat with the faculty? The cryptic discourses that preceded it? Or just this patient steadiness radiating off of your best-friend beside you while you lean into him—physically and emotionally—as if his is the only gravity your body is supposed to respond to?
The fluidity of this moment breaks with a sharp zing the moment your eyes meet with those of Seungcheol's who is staring at you from across the room. For a moment, all your nerves jerk to a stop. And when you follow his gaze as it drops from your face to your fingers intertwined with Mingyu's and an uneven mix of confusion and curiosity heats up his otherwise stoic face, your stomach flips.
Mingyu must've sensed your palm getting clammy in his hold because he halts for a beat to check in on you. By the time he decodes the situation, Seungcheol has turned his back to you.
"Uh, I need to use the washroom," you lie before Mingyu can say something and peel yourself away from him.
You move through a daze, still unable to grapple with what has been happening lately. That look that Seungcheol gave you…thank God Mingyu didn't see it. Because if he did, he would have asked you about it. And with just the right questions tossed at just the right angles, you know he would have gotten it out of you…the secret you've been withholding from him for weeks.
The secret that Seungcheol, the TA you've been 'crushing on' all term, did in fact ask you out right after you handed in your final paper for the term.
And that you said no.
Worse of all is that since then, you've continued tricking Mingyu into believing that the game is still on—the game he suggested. Pretend-dating. Make Cheol jealous.
Except nothing about the way Mingyu laces his fingers through yours is pretend. Nothing about the way your body curls into him like a high-tide back into the vast ocean is a performance. At least not on your part.
And God are you selfish to ever admit to that and put an end to the butterflies that flutter in your gut whenever Mingyu speaks or the fireflies that shoot through your entire system whenever he smiles.
The water runs cold on your wrists, you barely recognize your reflection in the mirror.
You want him, but you don't.
You're playing him, then why does it feel like you're the one losing?
The knock outside is impatient and startling.
Mingyu calls out your name, his tone demanding.
"What the hell was that?" He asks, his brows furrowed in deep concern the moment you step out gingerly.
"What was what?" You bite your lip, refusing to meet his eyes.
"Cheol…he looked at you weird and you ran away. Did something happen?"
"No."
"Liar."
"You're imagining things, Mingyu."
"I've known you since you thought ketchup was spicy." He squares his shoulders, you both know he's not gonna let up.
"Fuck, fine," you exhale, "Cheol asked me out and I said no."
His tautness falters, "Wha…why?"
"Drop it Gyu."
He grabs your hand instead, pulling you back in front of him when you begin to leave.
"No," he says, "you were raving about the guy all term, I'm not dropping this without an explanation. Did he do or say something that I don't know about?"
"No…no he didn't."
"Then tell me why—"
"Because I'm in love with you damn it!" you choke, "and ever since that almost fucking kiss at Kwan's party…I…it made me realize how I'd rather remain in this limbo of almosts with you than finding a permanent promise in someone else."
Mingyu freezes, frantic brown eyes searching your face for any signs of dishonesty. There are none.
Finally, he exhales a breath that had gotten lost in his throat. His hands cup your face, gentle but sure.
“Do you know how long I’ve loved you for?” he murmurs, voice spluttering. “My chase, my warmth…my selfishness behind wanting to get closer to you, even as an act for somebody else….it's all because of you. When you turned your face away from my kiss, I...I felt so cold.”
His thumb wipes your tears.
"I didn't mean to…" you admit, "I was scared."
He smiles playfully, "Wanna check if you still are?"
You nod with breathless titter. He hesitates for a moment, then leans in slowly, giving you time before he kisses you, soft and steady.
It doesn't feel like a chisel hammering against your chest when he does that, but like a snowflake thawing.
"Merry Christmas, Gyu." You whisper against his lips.
"Merry Christmas, my chase." He smiles.

At age eleven you learned the harsh reality that not all marriages work out. On one warm June afternoon you walked into the kitchen in the home you grew up in to find your parents in the middle of an argument. Your mother tearfully informed you that your mother and father were getting divorced. Your father left that day and you didn’t see him for about two months. When he finally came back around, you got to meet his new girlfriend that he had an affair with. At age eleven you built up walls around your heart without even trying. You learned a harsh lesson that love might not actually exist.
Sitting in Mingyu’s apartment you sat at the kitchen table working on your presentation for your. Your phone vibrated and you looked down to see a text from your father. As you read over the text, you couldn’t help but roll your eyes. It’s rare your father actually texts you, and honestly when he does you tend to be left being annoyed.
Mingyu watched as you groaned while reading something. “What are you annoyed about?” he asked before taking a drink from the bottle of beer that was sitting on the table. He tended to be able to read you like an open book.
“Well my father is getting married in two weeks and just decided to let me know,” you sighed. You weren’t exactly surprised that he was getting married. You had met his girlfriend who you assumed was his new fiancé a few times. You weren’t exactly the biggest fan of hers. She was quite a bit younger than your father and pretty stuck up.
To say that your relationship with her father was stranded would be an understatement. When you were thirteen, he attempted to see you one weekend every month. He soon learned that he didn’t have much in common with you, and he went back to occasionally having dinner with you like once a month. In the last year he had only seen you maybe three times max. You didn’t even know that he was engaged to his new girlfriend—you barely even really knew her.
“Are you going to go?” Mingyu asked, knowing that you don’t have a great relationship with your father. There had been a handful of drunken nights, where you had breakdowns over the feeling that your father was never going to truly love you. You always felt as if you were never good enough for your father. No one saw you truly upset over your relationship with your father other than Mingyu and Wonwoo.
“I don’t think I have a choice, if I don’t go, my grandma, and dad won’t let me live it down.” You sighed. You’ve contemplated going no contact but you knew it would be hard. There is this part of you that thinks if you try hard enough maybe one day your relationship could be fixed. “Oh my god I don’t want to go to this alone.” You knew that this wedding was going to be a lot of people asking you why you’re single, and if you’re going to have kids. All your cousins were married and had kids, and you’re the only single one. Every Christmas— one of the few times you would see that side of the family—everyone would always harp on you, asking a million questions about your life.
“You should have someone go with you,” Mingyu said, pulling his phone out of his pocket.
“Do you want to go with me?” you asked, praying maybe Mingyu could save you from going to this alone. You knew that Mingyu could play the part as the perfect boyfriend. Your mother already loved him and constantly told you that you should date someone like Mingyu. You knew your father would love him too. He’s a parent’s dream partner for their daughter.
“I can’t because it’s my mom’s birthday that weekend so I’m going to be at a family event out of town,” he said. You could hear the guilt in his voice, could tell that he didn't want to send you alone but wasn't able to help.
“Literally everyone is going to be in my business about not having a boyfriend. I need to get a date within the next two weeks,” you said with a sarcastic laugh knowing damn well that was going to be nearly impossible.
“What are you talking about?” Wonwoo asked, walking into the kitchen. He sat down next to Mingyu and looked over at you, pushing up his glasses. You had completely forgotten Wonwoo was home. He’d been locked away in his room playing video games.
You explained your situation to him, leaning forward to rest your face in your hands with a sigh.
“So, you want someone to be your fake date?” Wonwoo asked, leaning back in his chair.
“Bingo,” Mingyu replied before taking another drink of his beer., having given up on doing his own work long ago.
Wonwoo shrugged “I mean I can go with you if you want. I think I would make a pretty good fake boyfriend.”
You looked up at Wonwoo and knit your eyebrows together and stared at him wondering if he was serious.“Really? You’d do that?” You couldn’t handle it if he's just messing with you.
He shrugged his shoulders again, oh so casual. “Yeah, why not? Weddings are great; free food, free drinks, what’s not to love?”
Shutting your laptop, you looked over at Wonwoo who was smiling. “Jeon Wonwoo, you’re a lifesaver.”
“So, what’s the plan?” he asked, giving you a calming smile.
“Well, the venue is two hours away so my dad’s booking me a room for the weekend, I’ll let him know I’m bringing my boyfriend.”
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
The weekend of the wedding rolled around, the two hour drive filled with your anxieties. You couldn’t lie, you were pretty nervous about bringing Wonwoo as your fake boyfriend. You hated bringing dates to your family events, especially your dad’s side of the family. Especially your dad’s side of the family, who was prone to asking inappropriate questions and stick their noses into your business.
“So how long have we been dating?” Wonwoo asked as he kept driving. Snapping you out of your spiraling thoughts.
You looked over at him and realized that you needed to come up with a story on your relationship; how, when, where you met. , having planned on just winging it— not your best idea. Luckily Wonwoo knew you needed to have a game plan.
“I guess we can say six months that way I can say we started dating after Christmas.” You replied, not needing them grilling you for not mentioning him back then.
“Okay, sounds good, are we saying that we were friends before we started dating?” he asked.
“Yeah I think that sounds good? Maybe we can say Mingyu pointed out we would make a good pair.”
“Your father has met Mingyu before, right?”
“Yeah he’s met him before. He loves Mingyu.”
“All parents love Mingyu.” He let out a soft laugh.
“Alright, Mingyu thought we’d be good together so I decided to pursue you,” you began, “we started dating six months ago, a bit after Christmas. Sounds like a plan.”
You liked that Wonwoo was putting effort into your half-assed plan, thinking of things you hadn’t. You could tell he was taking the trip seriously, putting you at ease.
You arrived at the fancy hotel that your father was getting married at. Wonwoo got out of the car and walked over to help you get out of the car. He popped the trunk open and walked over to get both of your suitcases. You feel as if you’re in autopilot mode. You were a one track mind on just getting through this weekend. You went to walk inside, but before you could walk away Wonwoo reached down and grabbed your hand. You stopped immediately and looked down at yours and Wonwoo’s hand. Holding his hand feels safe and warm. He gave you a small smile and nodded. Having Wonwoo here with you felt like a sense of protection.
You walked into the hotel lobby and were greeted instantly by your dad and his new young wife. The nerves suddenly kicked in as they started walking your way. How are you supposed to lie to them all weekend and pretend Wonwoo has been your boyfriend for six months.
“Sweetie, I’m so glad you’re here,” your future stepmom said as she wrapped her arms around you. She pulled you into a tight hug. You dropped Wonwoo’s hand and looked over at him with startled eyes. You weren't exactly a fan of Dea. You thought she was shallow and you weren’t exactly a fan of the fact that she was barely ten years older than you. Dea let go of you and walked over and wrapped her arms around an unexpected Wonwoo. “You must be her boyfriend, Wonwoo.”
“Yep,” Wonwoo said awkwardly.
Dea let go of Wonwoo and walked over and stood next to her dad. “I’m glad you came sweetie” he said knowing that there was a chance you wouldn’t come to this wedding. Anyone with eyes can tell you and your father’s relationship is extremely strained. Your father might try and sugar coat what happened, but it’s is very much common knowledge he had an affair and cheated on your mother.
“Which room are we in?” You desperately need to escape this conversation. You need to get away from your dad and Dea. Peace and quiet while unwinding with Wonwoo sounds like an absolute dream.
“You guys are on floor three in room 389,” he said, reaching into his pocket to pull out yours and Wonwoo’s room keys.
“Thanks,” you snagged the room key.
You reached down and took Wonwoo’s hand, leading him over to the elevator. The moment you were in the elevator and the doors shut you let out a sigh of relief. Suddenly all the tension in your body dissipates. Leaning against the wall you looked up at Wonwoo wondering if he regretted coming along on this trip. He probably had no idea how awkward things are between you and your father.
“Dea is very young?” he said, breaking the silence between you. He sounds like he’s trying not to laugh.
“Yeah my dad likes them younger than him,” you let out a soft laugh. The elevator dinged and the doors opened, and you walked down the hall towards their room. Opening the door, you’re greeted to the sight of a single queen size bed in the middle of the room. You looked over at Wonwoo as he sat his suitcase down. Of course there is only one bed. For some reason you didn’t think about the fact you were going to have to share a bed.
You must look like an idiot just standing there staring at the bed. “I can sleep on the couch if you want,” he says, breaking you out of your thoughts. Walking over and sitting down on the edge of the bed.
“Wonwoo were both adults. We can share the bed.”
You’ve definitely had sleep overs at his and Mingyu’s place after long nights. The idea of sharing a bed with a male friend shouldn’t be weird. The only issue with that is you couldn’t lie, you've always had somewhat of a crush on Wonwoo since you met him freshman year. He was a handsome guy and was super charming, but Wonwoo had always been somewhat of a heartbreaker. There are stories on campus about girls falling hard for the boy you’re sharing a bed with. There is also the minor detail, you don’t think that Wonwoo would ever have feelings for you. As soon as you realize you developed feelings for him you push them away. This little voice inside of you told you, if you didn’t have feelings for him, you couldn’t get hurt.
“Okay, I don’t mind sharing the bed at all.”
You walked over and sat down next to him on the bed. He reached over and laced his fingers with your and gently squeezed your hand three times. Mingyu does this when he knows you need to calm down. It’s sweet that Wonwoo does the same thing.
“You’re going to get through this weekend. I’ll be here the whole time with you. I’ll be there to hold your hand whenever things get rough.” Since your dad left things haven’t been the easiest. You’re definitely quite guarded and all your romantic relationships haven't worked out. Mingyu has been the only constant in your life since you were sixteen. He’s not a romantic interest for you, but he’s the best friend you could ask for. He understands why you’re so guarded and has never judged or said anything about it. Before he introduced you to his college roommate turned other best friend Wonwoo, he told you Wonwoo would look out for you just like he does. He wasn’t wrong, Wonwoo became another stable fixture in your life.
Looking over at Wonwoo, he’s giving you a soft smile, letting you know that this is going to be okay. That he was here to support you through all this. With Mingyu and Wonwoo in your life you’re never alone.
“This is going to be an interesting weekend.”
You spent time in your room for a few hours. Wonwoo took a nap while you sat at the small table that was placed in front of the window with your laptop in front of you. You took this time to work on a few projects you had for summer school classes.
As the sun started to set, you knew that Wonwoo and you were going to have to get ready to go to the rehearsal dinner. This was going to be the moment when the rest of your family saw you with Wonwoo. You stood in the bathroom putting on makeup as Wonwoo was getting dressed. You did your hair nicely and got dressed in a pale pink dress you bought just for the rehearsal dinner. Walking into the bedroom you found Wonwoo sitting on the bed looking at his phone. He was dressed in a pair of grey dress pants, and white dress shirt without a tie. God he’s so handsome.
As he looked up he pushed his glasses on the bridge of his nose. His bright eyes locked onto yours, he couldn’t help but smile. “You look beautiful.” He stood up and walked over to you.
Hand in hand you walked to the rehearsal dinner, it’s being held in the lavish ballroom that was connected to the hotel. The whole time you were attending the dinner, Wonwoo rarely left your side. He was either holding your hand or his hand was resting on the small of your back. Letting you know that he was always with you. He braved all of your family as every single one of them came up to badger the happy “couple” with a million questions. As your grandmother came up for her round of nosy questions, you have never been happier in your life to have Wonwoo by your side.
Your grandmother seemed to instantly love Wonwoo. Honestly though, who could blame her? Wonwoo was extremely charming and seemed to know the correct answer to every question your grandmother seemed to throw at him. The night couldn’t have gone better. A weight felt as if it had been lifted off your shoulders.
As the dinner ended the two of you made your way back to your room. The moment the door was shut Wonwoo untucked his shirt and started unbuttoning it. You walked over and sat on the edge of the bed taking a moment to relax before you started getting ready for bed. The slight of Wonwoo’s bare torso was hard to look away from. He looks absolutely breathtaking. Looking up you find Wonwoo staring back at you with a smile plastered across his face. A flash of red hot embarrassment hits you like a tidal wave. The fact that he blatantly caught you oagling half naked body makes you want to curl up under the covers and hide.
He didn’t bother saying anything, he knew that you seemed quite embarrassed by how bright your cheeks were burning, after he caught your wandering eyes. Biting his lip, he held back a soft laugh.
The room suddenly felt so small. Jumping up you rushed off to the bathroom with the excuse you need to remove your makeup and brush your teeth.
Standing in the bathroom you take this time alone to try and ground yourself. This whole weekend feels like one big mind game. Removing your makeup, you splashed water on your face. Looking into the mirror you whispered to yourself, “you don’t like him. This whole thing isn’t real, he’s flirting and acting nice because he’s your fake boyfriend.” You need to put these feelings to a halt immediately. You aren't allowed to let your little crush on him develop into something more. That’s going to do nothing but break your heart.
Getting dressed in your pajamas, you walked back into the bedroom. Wonwoo is already comfortably under the covers lying down scrolling through his phone. Maybe you should just sleep on the couch for the night. Sharing a bed with Wonwoo could make things awkward. Being so close to him while he slept only in pajama pants might just be too much for you.
Before you could even say anything, Wonwoo spoke up. “Are you okay if I sleep on this side of the bed?”
“Yes.” You walk over to the other side of the bed and slowly crawl under the covers.
You should try to go to sleep but instead you can’t stop thinking about the boy lying in bed next to you. Laying on your side you stare at him silently. He’s lying on his back just staring at the ceiling. What could he possibly be thinking about? Let’s be real, he probably thought this side of your family was crazy. You can’t really blame him for thinking that either. Personally you weren’t even a big fan of this side of the family either. You have basically been an outcast for as long as you can remember.
He reached over and turned off the light that was on the bed side table. “Why do I feel like right now you’re over thinking everything?” His voice is gentle as he speaks to you.
You and Wonwoo had been friends for a while, and he knew you pretty well. You weren’t going to get away with saying that everything was fine. Because honestly at the moment everything was very far from fine. Everything around you felt as if it was spiraling out of control and Wonwoo was the only thing keeping you grounded. This whole trip had you completely on edge and filled with anxiety.
“This whole weekend is just extremely stressful. I also feel bad that I dragged you into it.”
He moved so he was laying on his side staring at you. He gently reached over and pushed a piece of your hair away from your face. He softly said, “I’m fine, you don’t have to worry about me this weekend. I’m here to hold your hand and make it through this weekend.”
You gave him a soft smile. There was something about knowing that Wonwoo is there by your side, and that he wants to make sure you don’t feel alone this weekend.
“Tomorrow at that wedding we are going to make such a hot couple that everyone is going to be jealous.” A cute smile plays cross his lips.
You couldn’t help but smile back at him. It was almost contagious. “Well my family already thinks you’re an amazing boyfriend.”
“I can’t help it, I’m known to be pretty charming.” He reached over and laced his fingers with yours. Your stomach feels as if it’s in a twist with the feeling of butterflies. “Also, for some reason grandparents always seem to like me.”
“Well I think you’re the first boyfriend I have ever brought to a family event that my grandmother actually likes. She’s pretty savage when it comes to asking personal questions.”
He squeezed your hand gently and said, “well I didn’t think she wasn’t too bad.”
Silently you stared at each other for a moment just enjoying each other’s company. There is a long moment of silence before you finally speak. “I don’t think I could have done this without you.”
“I’m glad you asked me to come to this wedding with you. I don’t feel like we ever hang out without Mingyu, and it’s nice to finally have some one-on-one time.” He’s not wrong, your whole entire friendship with Wonwoo consisted of your mutual best friend being there as well. You’ve probably hung out with Wonwoon maybe once without Mingyu, before this weekend.
“I feel like we’re actually getting to know each other.”
“Yeah, and I like that a lot.” He put emphasis on a lot, and you couldn’t help but wonder if maybe Wonwoo had feelings for you as well. Maybe your crush isn’t as one sided as you always thought it was. What little time you have spent together one on one already has you questioning your feelings for him. What if this was more than just a little crush? What if you have actually fallen for your cute gamer friend. You knew putting on a show tomorrow at the wedding wasn’t going to help you confusion at all.
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
As the morning light shined through the curtains, you were woken up to Wonwoo’s strong body curled up behind you. Your eyes popped open when you realized how close you were. Wonwoo started to stir and his arm that swung across your soft stomach pulled your body closer to his tone body. He nuzzled his face against the back of your neck. Your eyes stayed wide open, as you attempted to pretend you’re still sleeping. She wondered if he was aware of what he was doing. He mumbled something you couldn't make out, sounding as if he’s still asleep.
He stayed close pressed up against you. His arm still wrapped tightly around you, for about five minutes before you gently lifted his arm and moved away from him. As you started to get out of bed Wonwoo’s warm eyes slowly opened.
“Good morning,” he yawned.
“Morning.”
“What time is the wedding?” he asked.
“The ceremony starts at three,” you said as you got out of bed.
He nodded his head and yawned as he rolled onto his back, and slowly stretched. You couldn’t help but stare at his practically naked body as he put himself on display as he stretched. Looking away you needed to get away before you said or did something you would regret when this was all over. Quickly you walked off to your suitcase.
“Did you need to use the bathroom before I take a shower?”
“Yeah, let me go really quick.” He got out of bed and walked off to the bathroom.
You looked through your suitcase to pull out the dress she had bought to wear to the wedding. Turning around you found Wonwoo walking out of the bathroom. How is he so hot without even trying? He still looks half asleep and he is wearing a pair of sweatpants that show off his mouth watering v lines.
“Did we want to go grab brunch or something before the wedding?” He asked as he scratched the back of his neck.
You nodded, “yeah that would be nice.”
“Should we get ready in normal clothes and get dressed for the wedding after brunch?” He sat down on the edge of bed.
“Yeah, that sounds perfect.”
You pulled out the light blue dress you had bought for the wedding. You hung the dress up in the closet and then walked back to the suitcase to grab a sundress you had picked out to wear to brunch.
Walking into the bathroom you turned on the shower and let the water warm up, as you stripped away your clothes. Stepping into the shower you tried not to think about the stress of the day that was ahead of you. As the warm washed over your mind keeps wandering to Wonwoo. Without even trying he’s somehow taking over all your waking thoughts. You keep thinking about how it felt to wake up in his arms. The whole thing just felt so natural.
Turning off the water you take your time drying off before getting dressed. You put on some natural looking base makeup, so all you would have to put on when they got back from lunch would be your eye makeup.
Walking into the room you find Wonwoo lying on the bed staring at his phone. Glancing up he sat his phone on the bed and gave you a smile. His smile had always given you butterflies, from the first moment they had met. Even as time passed nothing had changed.
He sits up and grabs his glasses off the nightstand. “Ready to grab some food?” he asked.
You nod as you put on some black flats and walk over to grab your purse. Wonwoo jumped up and grabbed his wallet and the room key. Walking out into the hallway and without thinking Wonwoo reached down and laced his fingers with yours. You couldn’t help the warm feeling in your stomach as he held your hand tightly leading you down the hallway. As you stepped into the elevator, he continued to hold your hand, never letting go. The doors opened on the main floor and you stepped out, immediately ran into your grandmother and Aunt Rita.
They waved you both down. Wonwoo leaned down and whispered into your ear, “we can make it quick and I’ll whisk you away.”
You couldn’t help the smile that spread across your face.
“Look at the adorable couple,” aunt Rita said, stopping right in front of you.
“Wonwoo, where are you and my granddaughter off to?”
“We’re grabbing some brunch before we get ready for the wedding,” he smiled before leaning down and pressing his lips to your cheek. This was the first time you've ever shared any type of kiss. Even if it was just a peck on the cheek. You can’t push away the feeling that you like being able to be close to him like this.
“Oh, how romantic,” Aunt Rita says.
“Well we will leave you two love birds alone then,” your grandmother said before walking away.
He leaned down once again with his lips brushing your ear and whispered, “I told you I was going to save you.”
“I don’t know how I can ever repay you for this weekend.” Your tone was completely serious as you looked into his warm eyes. You didn’t understand how he could be such an amazing friend and so emotionally supportive for you this weekend.
He gave you his signature charming smile, “getting to spend a weekend with you is enough.”
Your heart started racing as you stared at him wondering if you had just heard him correctly. What little bit of alone time you've had spent together was reminding you of your crush. You can’t help but wonder if maybe it was more than a crush based on the way he was making you feel. You were also wondering if maybe he returned your feelings, based on what he had been saying. If he only saw you as a friend he wouldn’t be holding your hand any chance he gets either.
You sat in the café that was connected to the hotel. You were both enjoying your waffles and making small talk. You and Wonwoo had been friends for a while, but you weren’t as close with him as you were with Mingyu. This time you’re getting to spend together you felt like you had grown a lot closer. Just him spending time with him made you feel a lot more comfortable about everything.
You stop eating and stare at Wonwoo, smiling while listening to him tell a story about him and Mingyu when they were freshman in college during a drunken night out. You always loved hearing funny stories about Mingyu and Wonwoo adventures.
You finished eating and walked back to your room hand in hand. Wonwoo didn’t think twice about lacing his fingers with your. He does it as if it’s the most natural thing in the world. You kept telling yourself that he keeps holding your hand because he knew he had to play the role of your loving boyfriend. If you don’t keep telling yourself that you might start falling for him even harder. There is no way you could handle it if he didn’t feel the same way. The one goal of this wedding was for you to keep your feelings under control.
Walking into the room you walked over to the closet and grabbed her your light blue dress. Excusing yourself to the bathroom, you take your time styling your hair just the way you like it. After you put on the rest of her makeup.
Grabbing your dress off the back of the door, and slipping it on. After quite a bit of struggling to get the zipper up, you finally give up. Holding the dress up to your chest, walking back into the room to find an extremely handsome looking Wonwoo dressed in a suit and tie.
His eyes went wide and a huge smile formed on his face. “You look so beautiful.”
“Thank you,” you whispered, not even sure if you could properly speak at that moment. “Can you help with the zipper?” You turned around.
Silently he stepped forward and slowly dragged the zipper the rest of the way. His hand lingered on the exposed skin above your dress. He gently dragged his finger across the delicate above your dress.
Turning around he stares at you silently. Your stomach was doing flips at the way that he was looking at you. You weren’t sure anyone had ever looked at you the way Wonwoo was looking at you at that moment. His eyes were gentle and filled with what you could describe as love.
Looking over at the clock that was on the wall and saw you only had about twenty minutes until the wedding started. He reached down and took your hand in his. “I think maybe we should head off to the wedding.”
“Okay.”
Walking through the hotel out to the garden where the ceremony was being held. You sat in the middle away from all your family. It didn’t feel right sitting in the first two rows for close immediate family. Wonwoo had his arm over your shoulder. Holding your soft body close to his. He kept leaning over and whispering random things into your ear. Wonwoo deserves an Oscar for the performance he’s putting on. He was beaming knowing you were truly putting on one hell of a show. The issue is, you don't know how much of it was a show on your part.
As the ceremony started, you couldn’t lie, you absolutely hated every single moment of it. That hollow feeling in your chest feels deeper watching your father happily move on with his lip. How could you like watching your father get remarried. It just meant you were going to see him even less, and most likely your relationship was going to grow even more strand. This is a sign that maybe you can finally stop trying. He clearly hasn’t tried to fix your relationship. So why should you keep trying? As they exchanged vows many people were crying happy tears in the crowd, and your eyes started to brim with tears but they weren’t happy tears. They’re anything but tears of joy. Wonwoo noticed right away and leaned over and pressed his lips to your cheek kissing away the tears that slowly started to fall. He reached over with his free hands and laced his fingers with yours. Squeezing your hand three times.
There is no point in trying to hide your sadness from him. Looking over at him trying your hardest to stop crying. He leaned over and whispered, “if you want to leave now, we can. Or we can walk off to get some air. I just want you to know you aren’t alone.”
“I’m going to be okay,” you whispered as you squeezed his hand.
The ceremony came to a close and the bride and groom exit, and everyone slowly started heading off to the large ballroom that was set up. You sat completely still, not really moving. You were trying to gather yourself as much as possible. Wonwoo didn’t move or say anything, he just held your hand knowing that all this was extremely tough for you.
Wonwoo had heard you talk about your relationship with your father before. Many nights alone Mingyu has told him quite a bit about it. Mingyu hasn’t ever been a fan of your father. According to him, all your father does is break your heart. Wonwoo knew going into this weekend you needed someone to let you know you weren't alone. You needed support and someone who could be a shoulder to cry on. He would be whatever you needed him to be.
You both left alone in the garden. After what felt like an hour you finally slowly stood up. Nervously you start smoothing out your dress. Wonwoo stood up and watched you closely. Reaching up you brushed the tears away from one side of your face. Before you could reach the other cheek he reached over and gently rested his hand on your tear stained cheek. Gently brushing away your tears with his thumb. His warm eyes were locked on your sad eyes as he stared at you for a long moment. A long moment passed before he leaned forward and pressed his lips to your forehead gently. Closing your eyes, taking in his closeness as his lips lingered on your forehead. You reached for his hand and squeezed it just needing to be close to him for a moment.
“Are you ready for this?” You asked not even sure if you were truly ready.
“I’m ready whenever you are.”
This all feels like too much. Standing up, still holding his hand, you lead him towards the ballroom. Stopping right outside the doors of the room that was filled with over a hundred people. He reached up and placed hand on your cheek once again. There is a look of confusion on your face. Why did he suddenly decide to stop? You don’t ask why, you just stared at him.
“I want you to know that you’re a very special girl, and I wouldn’t be just anyone’s fake boyfriend. I did this because you mean a lot to me. You are so incredibly strong. I know this sucks, having to watch your father get married again. Hell I know I’m rambling a lot right now, but I need you to know that you don’t need your father’s approval on anything in life. If he doesn’t see how special you are and how talented and amazing you are. He’s a fucking idiot, and he doesn’t deserve your love.”
That definitely wasn’t what you expected him to say. Sure Mingyu has said similar stuff, but it feels very different hearing him say it. Completely caught off guard you just just stand there blinking, taking in everything he had just said. His sweet words had you once again on the brink of tears.
“When all this is over and we go home-“ He pauses and stares for a moment. “I want you to know that I’m still going to be there to hold your hand if you need me to.”
All you can do is smile. “Jeon Wonwoo you are something else.”
“Is that a good thing?” he asked, pushing his glasses up.
You nodded.
“Are you ready to put on a show?” It’s now or never. It’s time to go in there and show everyone how great Wonwoo is.
A smile tugs at his lips before he leans in to kiss your cheek. With his lips still ghosting your skin he whispered, “This doesn’t have to be a show, this can all be as real as you want it to.”
Suddenly the world feels as if it’s stopped spinning. This wasn’t just some one sided crush? He actually likes you back? Your heart raced and butterflies filled your stomach. Your eyes instantly go wide. You can’t help but wonder if that meant that he might feel something real for her the whole time.
“Let’s go honey.” He moved away from you, and led her into the ballroom that was already packed.
Walking over hand in hand you found your seats. You were relieved that you were at least sitting with some of your cousins that you were at least a little close with. Wonwoo leaned over and let you know he was going to find you something to drink. You stayed to talk to your cousin Irene who was your age and newly married.
“So where did you find that hot one?” Irene asked, smiling.
The feeling of pride that you experience that people are impressed with your date. “He’s a friend from college that I stayed close with.”
Irene brought a glass of wine up to her lips and took a sip and smiled at you. “Well you should keep him around and bring him to more family events, because he’s a babe.”
Before you could even respond, Wonwoo walked over and sat a drink down in front of you. Wonwoo pressed his lips to your cheek for a quick kiss. He sits down next to you.
“Did I miss anything?” he asked.
Irene shook her head, “nope.”
“Are you two not a big fan of PDA?” Irene asked, realizing that Wonwoo only ever kissed your cheek.
Knitting your eyebrows together, you realize you and Wonwoo hadn’t actually shared a kiss on the lips. He’s just been leaving sweet kisses on your cheek or forehead.
“I was just trying to be respectful of her family,” Wonwoo chimed in knowing that you were probably at a loss for words.
“Believe me sweetie nobody is going to be offended if you kiss for real,” Irene said before taking another sip of her wine.
Wonwoo turned to look at you. This was not how you expected your conversation with Irene to go. You must look pretty caught off guard by everything.
He reached over and rested his hand on your cheek and stared at you wondering if you were okay with them sharing a real kiss.
You could basically read his mind by the way he was staring at your lips. Without saying a word you nod your head.
Wonwoo took that as his cue and leaned forward to connect his lips to yours for a searing kiss. The moment your lips touch, electricity courses through your veins. There was a spark between you and Wonwoo that up until that moment you didn’t think existed. Your lips moved together, and Wonwoo gently slid his tongue across your bottom lips asking to deepen the kiss. You reached forward and gripped his blazer as your lips danced.
The sound of someone clearing their throat, catches your attention. Pulling away from Wonwoo. You looked up to see your father standing there.
“I see you two are having fun,” your father awkwardly said.
“Sorry about that sir,” Wonwoo said, not really being sorry at all.
“Sweetheart I was wondering if we could have a father daughter dance?”
You weren’t even able to fully process what had just happened between you and Wonwoo. Now you’re being put on the spot to share a dance with your father. This is far from something you want to do.
“Sure.”
Following you father through the crowd the dj starts playing a slow version of “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles. Your father reached out for you. Slowly you dance together in front of the whole ballroom. You’re both completely silent. You don’t even know what you should even talk about.
“So that Wonwoo guy seems good for you.” He finally says, speaking up.
For some reason his statement annoyed you. “What does that mean?”
“I think he could give you a good life, and you wouldn’t have to worry about working. He could really take care of you.” Your father smiled, completely unaware of how annoying his comments were.
“Am I ever going to be good enough for you?” You’ve finally had enough.
“(YN) why would you even ask me that?” he didn’t seem to understand why you‘re so upset. The problem with him is, he’s never going to understand how much he’s hurt you over the years. For some reason he’s convinced himself that leaving you and your mother didn’t hurt you.
“I could be a god damn rocket scientist who is a millionaire, and somehow or another you would still be disappointed in me.”
He shook his head. “That’s not true. I just have such high hopes for you,” he whispered, attempting to not cause a scene. This was supposed to be a touching father and daughter dance. All this moment is going instead is breaking your heart.
“I had high hopes for you when I was a kid, but that didn’t matter, you still cheated.” You pulled away from your father as the song came to close.
He stared at you looking completely shocked. There was no point in holding back anymore how much he’s broken your heart. “(YN) that had nothing to do with you. That was, and still is, between your mother and I.”
“Well you left us, so I think it had something to do with me.” He silently stared at you wide eyed, clearly unsure what to say to you. “I shouldn’t have even come to this,” you sighed, stepping away from him.
“(YN) I want you to know that I love you,” your father says.
Silently you nodded and walked towards Wonwoo. Everything suddenly feels like it’s falling apart and you can’t sit here and pretend to be happy anymore. You didn’t say anything as you sat down, you reached for your drink and started to chug it. Wonwoo watched knowing that something was said by your father to upset you. As you reached for his drink, he placed his hand lightly on your wrist, instantly stopping you. He couldn’t have you getting wasted at this wedding, you would regret it in the morning if you did.
How can your father make you feel so small with such little effort? No matter how hard you try, you truly just want his approval. The problem is no matter what you do, you unfortunately never get it.
“I’m never going to be enough.”
“That is not true, you are more than enough. You’ve always been enough to me.”
His statement suddenly made your world feel like it was spinning. The aching feeling in your chest doesn’t hurt as badly suddenly.
As music started playing loudly across the ballroom everyone that had been sitting at your table got up to go dance. The two of you stayed at the table. You're trying to process what Wonwoo said.
Your eyes were locked on his dark ones through his glasses. In that moment, you were completely lost in his warm eyes. After the interaction with your father you felt completely and utterly heartbroken. Somehow right in that exact moment you felt like everything was going to be okay. You had Wonwoo sitting right next to you letting you know that your father didn’t matter. If he didn’t think you were enough, he was an idiot.
Your heart was racing a million miles an hour as your eyes started to brim with tears once again. Biting your bottom lip, you weren’t even sure what you should say.
“Are you okay,” Wonwoo asked, growing concerned.
“Am I really enough?”
“I don’t think you are aware how much you mean to me.” He reached over and squeezed your hand. “I came here this weekend because I knew you needed a friend, and because I wanted a chance to see if you would maybe want more…” he hesitated. “I like you, a lot. I totally understand if you just want a friend. I want you to know how I feel.”
This was unexpected. Wonwoo has never even given you the slightest hint that he was interested in you romantically. Silently you stared at him. Not even sure what to say to him.
“You don’t have to say anything, but I want you to know how I feel. I also want to let you know that I don’t think you should give a single fuck what any of your family thinks about you. Especially your father.”
“Wonwoo, I like you too.” A weight feels like it’s been lifted off your chest.
He smiled and reached over and rested his hand on your cheek. “Did you maybe want to share a dance?”
The music had switched to a slow song. There is something about the idea of getting to slow dance with Wonwoo that gives you butterflies.
Standing up you hold your hand out. He laced his fingers with yours. Leading him towards the dance floor you feel your father staring at you. You moved through the crowded dance floor that was filled with couples dancing. He pulls you close to him. Wrapping your arms around his neck he holds your hips, holding you close to him. He bit his bottom lip as he stared at you, it made him happy to see you smiling a little. Looking down at his shirt you feel nervous making eye contact with him. Why do you suddenly feel nervous being this close to him? You had already confessed your feelings to each other. Why did this slow dance feel so intimate?
“You know you are by far the most beautiful girl in this room,” his sweet words caused you to blush.
Glancing up at him through your eyelashes you couldn’t believe this moment was real between you. Suddenly everything seemed like a dream as you swayed to the beat of the song.
“You are quite the charmer Wonwoo.”
“I only want to be charming when it comes to you, honey.”
“I couldn’t have made it through this without you.” The thought of you doing this alone makes your chest hurt.
-
“I’m going to be here for you even after we go home, and I will be your fake boyfriend forever if you need me to be.” He didn’t want to be just your fake boyfriend. “I could also be more if you would want that.” He was putting his heart and the ego on the line right then, but he needed you to know that he would take more if you would give him more.
“I want more,” you whispered as you stopped moving and just stared at each other.
Without a single word he leaned forward and pressed his lips to yours. Your lips moved together as he deepened the kiss. Reaching up and placing his hand on your cheek holding you close. There is no way you weren’t causing a scene, making out on the dance floor. It’s not like you care now. The room could have been on fire and you wouldn’t have even noticed. At that moment nothing seemed to matter other than you and Wonwoo.
Pulling away you whispered, “please take me to our room.” You need to escape and you know Wonwoo will take you anywhere you want to go.
“Are you sure?” He messed with his glasses almost nervously.
You nodded and reached down, taking his hand. Leading him through the ballroom and out the large white doors you had entered through. You silently made your way through the hotel and up the elevator. Nothing was said between you. Wonwoo stared at you as if the two of you were the only people in the entire world. Your stomach was doing flips at the thought of what was about to happen. There was a line that was about to be crossed. You don’t ever want to look back. You want to hold his hand as you both fall together.
-
Entering the room you make quick work of removing your shoes. You turn to look at Wonwoo who was removing his suit jacket. He stared at you wondering if you should just watch a movie and not do anything in the heat of the moment. He was worried you were just acting on your emotions.
You reached behind you to start trying to remove your dress. You turned so your back was to Wonwoo. There was no way you could remove this dress without Wonwoo’s help. He stepped forward and placed a sweet kiss on the back of your neck. A shiver went down your spine at the feeling of his electric touch. Slowly he dragged the zipped down your light blue dress and kissed his way down your spine ever so delicately. Holding your eyes closed tight taking in the feeling of his touch.
A sea of light blue fabric pools at your feet. Left standing in front of him in just your bra and panties.
The room feels different. It’s clear you both know everything is about to change. Honestly things probably changed the moment Wonwoo offered to come to this wedding with you. All your cards have been put on the table. You both have confessed your feelings. Wonwoo had made you feel like you were the most important person in the world. How do you possibly process that?
“Wonwoo what is going on here?” You asked, needing to know if he wanted this to happen. Because right then and there you felt as if you needed him with every part of your body and soul. Your soul aches for him to love you.
He was staring at you with lust blown pupils. He had just laid his heart out on the line, and told you that he wanted more. He wanted to give her everything, but this all had to be on your terms.
“I don’t know what’s happening,” he said softly.
“Wonwoo, I want this but we’re not just caught up in the illusion of a fake relationship, right?” Reaching up and resting your hand on his cheek. Being able to touch him like this is a wonderful reminder this is all real.
“Everything I feel for you has nothing to do with us faking a relationship. I know you think we’re caught up in the moment, but it’s real.”
“I know, I know. It’s just… damnit, I want you.” This all just doesn’t feel real. “This has just been such a crazy weekend. I just need to know that this is all real.”
“I know this has been a crazy weekend, but I want you to know that I want you too,” he reassured you. He had a lot of thoughts going through his own mind. “I want you so badly. I have for a while, but if you don’t want to do this, we don’t have to. I want you to know that everything I feel for you is real.”
“Promise me that even after we do this, you’ll still want me.” You needed to know that this was all real to him. That this wasn’t part of the illusion.
He leaned forward to give you a quick kiss, and slowly said, “I’ve wanted you for a while, and if you want this to be real. I’ll want you five seconds from now, and even five decades from here on.”
“Okay,” you whispered, stepping away from him.
He stared at you as you reached behind you to remove your strapless bra. As it fell to the floor Wonwoo stared at you in awe for a moment before he started to remove his tie. He untucked his shirt. Stepping forward to help him unbutton his shirt.
Leaning forward he placed a sweet kiss on you forehead, “I’ll never get over how beautiful you are.” Butterflies fluttered in your stomach as you finished unbuttoning his shirt. He quickly took off his shoes and removed his socks, and got his pants off. “Can I touch you?” he asked, staring at your soft body.
Most of your life you have struggled with feeling comfortable in your own skin. The idea of being naked in front of someone wasn’t your favorite thought. The way he was looking at you made you feel comfortable. He made you feel truly wanted.
Silently you nodded. He reached out and gently palmed your breast. Leaning forward he starts kissing your bare shoulder. Working his way up your neck placing gentle bites and wet kisses. Soft moans pass your lips. His hand moved to the top of your panties, ever so slowly playing with the seam before his hand slid in. His fingers parted your folds and he gently stroked your sensitive nub.
You gasped at his touch. Everything feels warm and fuzzy. Reaching out to palm him through his boxers. He grew harder in your hand as you continued to palm him. He picks up his paces toying with your clit.
“I need you,” you murmured.
“Okay honey,” he whispered, removing his hand from your panties.
He reached into his pants pocket and pulled out his wallet to remove his incase of emergency condom. He had always carried it with him. Stripping away your panties, you crawled onto the bed. Watching as he kicked off his boxers and tore the foil packet open with his teeth. His eyes stayed locked on yours as he rolled the rubber down his length.
Crawling onto the bed he slowly parted your knees and stared down at you for a long moment before finally speaking, “(YN) are you sure you want this right now? We can always wait and do this another time.”
There is nothing more on this planet that you want than Wonwoo. You desperately want to know what it’s like to be with him in every physical way possible. “Yeah, I want this. I want you.”
“Okay,” he slowly lined up with your entrance. “At any time, if this is too much for you, just tell me and we can stop right then. Don’t worry about upsetting me, I won’t be upset.”
“Wonwoo I just want this,” you reached for his strong hand that was resting on her soft hip.
“Okay,” he whispered as he slowly pushed in.
He leaned forward placing all his weight on his hands as he hovered over you. His hips started to slowly roll as he connected his lips to yours for a passionate kiss.
Your body is warm and all your brain can process is the feeling of Wonwoo filling you completely. The stars have aligned and your finally with the man you desperately want to fall in love with.
You moan as he kisses you, whispering sweet words against your lips. With each thrust he picked up his speed.
Throughout your life you’ve slept with a few people. Sex with Wonwoo was something completely different. You were overwhelmed completely in the best way possible by his touch. He continues to whispered words of praise into your ear causing you to become speechless. Nobody ever in her life had ever said the sweet words he was whispering. It was almost as if he knew all the right things to say. He made you feel as if you were the only person in the world that existed.
He kissed his way down your neck as you moaned his name.
Reaching down to where you’re connected, you started to slowly touch yourself. The moment Wonwoo realized what you were doing he stared at you in awe. He had seen nothing in his entire life as beautiful as you looked right then.
He moaned your name like a prayer. He continued to stare at you in awe. Moaning his name back, as you reached up with your hand that wasn’t touching yourself. Resting it on Wonwoo’s cheek. Your eyes stayed locked on each other as white hot wave washes over you. Wonwoo only got about two more thrust in when he hit his own high. He stilled in you and leaned forward and pressed his lips to yours for a sloppy kiss.
Rolling off of you he laid on his back and looked over at you and smiled, “how about we watch a movie?”
Everything feels perfect and you can’t help but smile.
Wonwoo reached down and pulled the covers up. Reaching over you grab the remote. Curling up next to him as you flipped through the list of movies.
-&-
The urge to pee wakes you up in the middle of the night. You’re still completely naked. Neither you or Wonwoo even bothered putting clothes on. You hadn’t even left the bed other than getting up to use the restroom. Wonwoo had thrown a robe on once so he could grab the room service that was delivered. You put a robe on so you weren't naked while eating. The moment you crawled back into bed you both were fully naked.
The trip to the bathroom was short. Crawling back into bed you moved closer to Wonwoo who had woken up. He let out a yawn and smiled at you.
“What time is it?” he asked.
“It’s like four am,” You said softly, rolling on your side next to him.
“Okay,” he yawned, laying right behind you so you were spooning. He leaned forward and pressed his lips to your shoulder, “I want you to be my girlfriend.”
That wasn’t a statement you were expecting to hear. Your eyes are probably as wide as saucers. “Wonwoo, are you sure about that?”
He leaned up and with his lips brushing your ear whispered, “I have never been more sure of anything in my life.”
You couldn’t help the smile that was plastered across your face. “Okay, let’s talk about it more in the morning when we’re both not half asleep.”
“Is that your way of rejecting me?” he asked with a soft laugh.
“No, I would never reject you Wonwoo. I just don’t want to have this conversation at four in the morning when we’re both half asleep and naked.”
“Okay honey,” he gently pressed his lips to your shoulder.
-&-
Around nine the both of you woke up. There was some tension between the two of you. Neither of you dare to bring up your conversation you shared in the middle of the night. Wonwoo wasn’t going to be the one to bring up first. He knows you well enough to know you’re definitely overthinking this. If he had to, he planned on just bringing it up a couple days after you returned home.
Around ten-thirty you checked out of the hotel and you were on your way back home. About thirty minutes into the drive home you looked over at Wonwoo who was focused on the road.
“Were you serious about what you said?” You needed to know if he regretted anything that had happened between you.
He glanced over at you for a quick second before looking back at the road, “I was one-hundred percent serious about every single thing I said this weekend.”
“Even the part about wanting to be my real boyfriend?” You asked, staring at him.
He wanted nothing more than to be your actual boyfriend.
“I was very serious about that,” he reached over and rested his hand on your soft thigh and gave it a gentle squeeze.
“Wonwoo please pull over.”
“Why?” he asked as he pulled over on the highway. He put the hazards on and looked over at you confused on why he was pulling over. Part of him was worried you were going to get out of the car and run away.
You reached over the center console and took his face in your hands. Crashing your lips into his for a sloppy kiss. Pulling away and smiling at him as he looked at you completely dumbstruck.
“What was that for?”
“I want you to be my real boyfriend, Wonwoo.”
“I would love to be your real boyfriend,” he had a huge smile on his face.
“Okay you can start driving again,” you leaned back in your seat and buckled up again.
Wonwoo had a huge smile plastered on his face as he turned back onto the highway. He reached over and laced his fingers with yours and squeezed your hand three times.
Who knew agreeing to be your fake boyfriend would lead to finally being able to call you his?

how quiet can you be?
𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: choi seungcheol x afb.reader
You’re not worried about Jeonghan seeing you, more so you’re worried he’ll hear. You and Seungcheol have an issue trying to stay quiet. More than once, Joshua and Jeonghan have complained about your noise level. It turns out, you’re so loud that Joshua had invested in noise-canceling headphones.

Laying on his soft bed, his toned body is pressed up against your back. His lips are sucking on the sensitive skin on your neck as his large hand is massaging your breast, sending shivers down your spine. He runs his tongue along your skin, knowing exactly what to do to drive you wild. In all the time he’s been with you, he’s learned all the ways to turn you on with little to no effort.
Slowly, you roll your body back against his, earning a sinful moan from him. He rolls his hips against your butt as his length already starts to harden.
“Aren’t we supposed to be going to sleep?” you whisper. You know how this is going to end.
“I would rather do more than sleep,” he rasps, rolling his hips again.
“Jeonghan is going to come home any minute,” you moan as he gently nips at your skin.
“He knows you’re staying the night. He’ll knock before entering.” Jeonghan has a habit of bursting into Seungcheol’s room without asking.
His large hand grips your hip, pulling you closer to his hardened length.
“You can’t promise that.” You wiggle your butt against him. You’re playing with fire right now. You know Seungcheol would have no problem having sex with you right now. The thought of Jeonghan accidentally walking in won’t stop him, or even the idea of one of his roommates hearing you.
Seungcheol used to get embarrassed when Jeonghan or Joshua would catch you making out on the living room couch, but you've been walked in on too many times to count. It's at the point where he literally doesn’t care. He’s not the type that wants to have sex out in the living room where his roommates could see, but if they’re stupid enough not to knock and barge into his room, he won’t get embarrassed. There have been a handful of times when Jeonghan has burst into the room and found you fully naked while your boyfriend fucked the living daylights out of you.
“I would prefer that Jeonghan doesn’t see me naked again,” you say, biting back a smile.
“You don’t have to be naked for us to have sex.” His lips brush your neck, sending a shiver down your spine. You know if you say no right now he won’t push the issue anymore. The thing is, he’s got you so turned on at this point that you aren’t even sure if you care if Jeonghan walks in or hears you having sex.
“You win. But we have to stay under the covers, and we’re staying in this position.” You can’t help but smile. Having sex while spooning is one of your favorite positions. Seungcheol has not only a long cock, but it’s also thick. When he fucks you from behind, he’s able to hit places and make your brain turn to mush.
He wastes no time pulling off your underwear and pushing his boxers down his thick thighs. His hand reaches over you. His fingers start toying with your sensitive clit. Biting your lip, you try your hardest to hold back your moans.
“Is my baby trying to stay quiet?” He loves to tease you while having sex.
“Cheol—“ you quietly whimper.
“Baby, Shua is in his room. Are you scared he’ll hear you?” His fingers dip down and slowly start pumping in and out of you.
“Um—“
Pulling his finger from your core, he presses his lips to your shoulder. “Lift your leg a little for me baby.” Without a word, you follow his request. Slowly, he pushes in, giving you a moment to adjust to his size. It doesn’t matter that you’ve done this over one hundred times; your body is never fully used to the sheer size of him.
Filled to the brim, his hand rests on your stomach. His lips are kissing anywhere they can reach. Your bottom lip is captured between your teeth.
“Let’s see how quiet you can be,” he teases.
He starts at a slow and deep pace. His hand has moved down so it rests on your mound. His fingers draw slow, lazy circles on your clit. It's clear he’s not trying to make this a quick romp. He intends on dragging this out for you.
One hand grips the sheets below you, while the other holds on to his arm. He’s hitting so deep you feel like you’re seeing stars. The room is filled with the soft sound of his hips hitting your butt and silent gasps. He moans softly in your ear.
Squeezing your eyes shut, you try to focus on staying silent.
His fingers playing with your clit pick up the pace. He’s trying to push you over the edge. Tilting your head to the side, he leaves a trail of open-mouthed kisses. There is no way he’s not leaving behind marks.
Pushing your hips back, you try to meet his thrusts. Quiet gasps keep passing your lips. It’s taking everything in you not to whine and whimper loudly.
“Such a good girl,” he whispers against your ear.
“Fuck—“ you whisper.
“Come for me, baby.” A tidal wave washes over you. Squeezing your eyes closed, you whisper his name like a sinful prayer.
His large hands grab your hips, holding you still. His thrusts become firm as you ride out your high. The low groans passing his lips let you know he’s on the edge of the cliff.
As your high fades away, you focus on helping him find his release by squeezing your walls around him.
“Baby—“ His grip on your hips tightens and he moans your name in your ear. He paints your walls with his milky release.
He’s snug inside you for a long moment before he pulls out. He crawls off the bed and you lay on your back, staring at the ceiling. He helps clean up his sticky cum that’s already starting to leak out.
He sits next to you, smiling gently while rubbing your thigh. “Just so you know, Shua isn’t home and Jeonghan is on a date with his friend he’s in love with. We have the place to ourselves.” Your smile drops at the fact that this man made you believe you had to be quiet so roommates didn’t hear you.
“You asshole—,“ you scream at him.
“But you were so good, baby. Nice and quiet.”
He’s wearing a cocky grin, and even though you want to be mad at him, you can’t deny that this was a fun game.

It was your best friend's wedding and you sat at a table in the corner with a glass of champagne in your hand as you watched her dance with her new husband. You couldn’t help but feel quite awkward even attending this wedding. The man your best friend was marrying was your ex boyfriend that you dated for three years. Somehow you had managed to stay friends even though it made you sick to your stomach seeing them together.
Walking across the ballroom as the song finished playing you were quickly stopped by your best friend grabbing your hand and pulling you towards the dance floor. It took everything to not pull your hand away and take off running. You didn’t want to be at this wedding and you sure as hell didn’t want to pretend that you were having a great time.
“Come dance with us,” she said, attempting to pull you onto the dance floor where her new husband was and all the bridesmaids.
“I’m gonna go get more alcohol,” you said before downing what was left of your champagne. You needed something stronger if you were going to survive tonight.
“You better dance with me before the night is over,” the bride said before dancing away.
You closed your eyes tightly and reluctantly saying, “okay.”
Turning on your heels you rolled your eyes and headed straight towards the bar. You weren’t even sure why you agreed to come to this wedding. Your best friend and new husband were quite aware of how uncomfortable their relationship made you feel.
Standing at the bar you found a man ordering a drink. He was a familiar face, and close friend that you were hoping could distract you. You were quite shocked to see him standing at the bar alone. At any event he always seemed to have some women falling at his feet.
“I need a real drink,” you sighed leaning against the bar.
“I can’t believe you even showed up,” Jeonghan said leaning against the bar with you. He looked absolutely handsome in a suit just like he always does.
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes again, “she begged me to come. She said she couldn’t get married without her best friend being here.”
You could vividly remember your best friend coming straight to your apartment after he proposed to her. They had only been dating a year and three months before he got down on one knee. Seeing the huge rock your best friend had on her ring finger made you feel like you had wasted three years of your life on the man that was going to marry your best friend.
“It’s safe to say at this point I would rather light myself on fire than be here,” you said, reaching over and grabbing the glass that was sitting in front of Jeonghan.
He smirked as he watched you standing next to him down the drink that just sat in front of him. He couldn’t help but let his dark eyes travel up and down your soft body. You're wearing a stunning blue dress that hugged your curves perfectly.
“You know everyone thinks she’s a terrible person for what she did to you,” Jeonghan said looking over at the bride who was dancing awkwardly with her new husband.
“Maybe something was wrong with me,” you said wondering why you weren't enough. You're the exact opposite of your best friend and you thought maybe you just weren’t enough for him. Maybe he wanted someone prettier like your best friend or someone is small and skinny.
“Or maybe you were just too good for him,” Jeonghan said, causing you to smile.
“Where’s Joshua?” You asked, attempting to change the subject.
“He flew home to see his parents. Also he said he wasn’t a fan of the lovely couple anymore after what they did to you.” From the moment Joshua found out about the bride and groom's engagement he practically stopped being friends with them. He took your side instantly and told you shouldn’t attend this wedding. You aren’t shocked he’s not here. You didn’t think Jeonghan would come. You’re shocked to see him here.
“You know I would have also skipped this and left for my business trip tonight but I hated the thought of you being here sad and not having anyone.”
“Lucky him he got to skip this wedding. You could have also skipped it. I would have been okay,” you said trying to not sound sad about his statement.
“I wanted to make sure I got to say a proper goodbye to you.” Jeonghan has a feeling his business trip was going to be a lot longer than a month and he couldn’t leave knowing you had to attend this wedding alone. “Would you dance with me?” Jeonghan asked, holding his hand out. This must be his attempt to change the subject.
You took your bottom lip between your teeth and slowly nodded. You reached out and took his hand as he led you to the dance floor. The band had switched it up from a fast tempo swing song to a slower song. Looking around you watched as boys and girls coupled up across the dance floor. You and Jeonghan have been friends most of your lives but they never danced or did anything romantic together. Back in the day when you were in college when Joshua and Jeonghan frat had a dance you actually went with Joshua not Jeonghan. You had gone most of your life having a crush on the man you’re dancing with. Jeonghan was the definition of a ladies man and constantly had ladies dying to go out with him. You couldn’t help but wonder where his date was for the wedding.
“Jeonghan, who did you bring tonight?” You asked wondering if you knew his date.
Resting his hands on your soft hips he pulled you closer to him and signaled for you to put your arms around his shoulders. He gave you that signature Yoon Jeonghan smirk that seemed to make all the girls melt as he stared into your eyes.
“I didn’t bring a date,” he simply stated.
You pushed your eyebrows together and gave him a confused look, it was rare Jeonghan ever went to an event without a date. “That’s odd,” you said with a little laugh as you swayed to the beat of the music. He didn’t say anything, Jeonghan just gave you a smile and pulled you slightly closer to his body. You swayed to the beat of the slow song the band was playing.
“I should have asked you to dance long before now,” he said softly.
“I was hiding in a corner not many people knew where I was,” you let out a soft little laugh.
He shook his head and said, “I’m saying I should have taken you out on a proper date.” His words caught you off guard. “I shouldn’t have waited until the night of your asshole ex’s wedding. And the night before I’m leaving for at least a month.” You blankly stared at him just confused by what he was saying to you. You have always had a crush on Jeonghan for most of your life, but you didn’t think in a million years he would ever return your feelings. He’s always been the talk around town with all the girls. He’s charming and oh so handsome. He could have any girl he could possibly ever want. You’re confused as to why he would want you.
“Why would you ask me out?” You asked speaking up for the first time.
“Because you’re pretty and funny and why wouldn’t I?” He stopped dancing and reached down and grabbed your hand. Lacing your fingers together he led you out of the ballroom where everyone was still dancing and you headed out to the balcony.
You stood outside in the crisp night air. You silently stared at him, not even sure what was going on. You weren't sure if this was all a nightmare for the fact you were at your best friend's wedding where the man she was marrying was your ex boyfriend or if it was a dream based on the fact Jeonghan just admitted he wished he’d taken you out on a proper date.
“Honey I like you, I have for a while,” he stated. Your eyes grew wide, shocked by his words. “You were so torn up by that asshole in there I didn’t know what to do.”
“You literally leave tomorrow for a month-long business trip,” you sighed. You weren't even going to get a chance with him before he was gone for a whole month, maybe even more.
“I’ll be back soon,” he whispered.
“What if they ask you to move there for your job?” You asked the one question that terrified you. Jeonghan worked for a big tech company and they were opening a new branch in Tokyo and they asked Jeonghan to help run it as they opened.
He dropped his head and looked at his feet. He had thought about that quite a bit.
“I’m going to come back and when I do. I’m going to take you on a proper date,” he placed his free hand under your chin and slowly tilted it up so you were looking right into his beautiful dark eye.
“Do you promise?” You asked, causing him to smile.
“Yes,” he nodded his head. “And if they ask me to stay longer I’ll fly you out to Tokyo. We can even try to do long distance.”
You hate the idea of long distance but you would do it in a heartbeat for him. “Okay.”
“Honey, can I kiss you?” he asked. You’ve always loved when he’s called you honey. He says he calls you it because you’re always so sweet to him. You didn’t say anything, you just nodded. You couldn’t lie, you dreamed about kissing Jeonghan since your early teenage years. Jeonghan and Joshua have been some of the only people who have constantly been in your life. His strong hand went from under your chin to resting on your cheek as he softly pressed his lips to yours. You smiled into his lips enjoying the feeling of his lips against yours. Pulling away he gave you that heart melting smirk. “That’s to be continued.”
You nodded and whispered, “to be continued.”
The two of you walked back inside to find the dancing had picked up again. At this point you had no desire to be at this wedding. You asked Jeonghan to wait by the door while you went and said goodbye to your best friend. Walking back to Jeonghan you asked him to walk you home. You walked hand in hand down the streets of the city until they arrived at your home.
Standing on the steps in front of your apartment you couldn’t help but smile as you looked at Jeonghan. You didn’t think you would ever get over how good he looked in a suit. His hands were in his pockets as he smirked at you. You couldn’t lie, you desperately wanted to spend the night with him.
“I want to invite you up,” you sighed.
“Honey, how much I would love to, why don’t we wait until I get back.” He reached up and rested his hand on your cheek. “You aren’t the type of girl to invite a guy upstairs before even the first date and I would love to do nothing more than go upstairs, but I need to take you out on a proper date.” His sweet words caused you to smile.
“Jeonghan, I don't want to wait until a proper date. I don’t want to wait a month or possibly more to finally be with you.” He’s silent for a moment as if he’s trying to figure out what to say.
“Are you sure?”
You don’t say anything, you just crash your lips into his. Your first kiss with Jeonghan is everything you’ve always imagined it would be.
He pulls away from you smiling, “let’s go up stairs.”
Walking inside your apartment you set out your heels and set your bag down. You can feel Jeonghan's eyes burning into you as he steps out of his shoes.
“I need to take my makeup off and change. I don’t want to be reminded of this wedding anymore.” You sigh.
“Why don’t you take a shower?” He asked.
You can play this one of two ways and you decide it’s time to be bold. Biting your bottom lip you muster up some confidence before saying, “will you join me?”
“Absolutely,” he smiles.
-
Standing under the warm water you watch him slowly join you in the shower. He’s so pretty he’s absolutely breathtaking. Neither of you say anything for a long moment, you just take in sight of both your naked bodies.
“I’ve dreamed of seeing you like this,” he says, breaking the silence. He steps closer to you resting his hand on the side of your neck. “Shau always gives me shit for not telling you how I felt.”
“I know you like me now,” reaching out resting your hand on his chest. “Are you going to show me how much you like me?”
“Is that what you want honey?” He leans forward so his forehead is resting against yours. “You want me to show you how pretty I think you are? And how badly I want you?”
“Please.”
Leaning in, he crashed his lips into yours for a heated kiss. His hand doesn’t leave your neck as your lips move together. Your finger tangled into his long blonde hair holding him close to you. You can feel his hardened length pressing against your stomach.
Pulling away you smile at him. If you’re only going to have one night, before you go possibly months not see him you want to make the most of it. You want to give him everything.
“I want you,” you say, stepping back.
“You can have me,” he says.
You drop down to your knees in front of him. He looks down at you with lust filled eyes. “This sight I never want to forget,” he pulls your hair away from your face.
You take his hardened length in your hands and slowly start to pump, feeling him growing even harder. You give kitten licks to his sensitive head. Looking up at him through your lash you see the intoxicating sight of him biting his lip holding back a moan. Hollowing your cheeks you take him in your mouth. One hand rests on his thigh to steady yourself.
You can tell he’s trying to show restraint allowing you to control what’s happening.
“Fuck- you’re good at this-“ he moans.
Releasing him with a pop you look at him and smile before slowly licking his sensitive slit that is already leaking salty precum. You take him in your mouth once again. This time he hits the back of your throat almost triggering your gag reflex.
“Baby I don’t want to blow in your mouth our first time,” he tugs on your hair gently. Sitting back on your hunches you look up at him trying to look innocent. “You’re gonna be the death of me,” he sighs. He reached down, helping you stand up.
His lips crash into yours for a searing kiss. He moves you backwards with zero effort. Your back is against the cold tile wall. His hands are everywhere he can reach, before his long fingers slip through your wet folds. The moment his finger brushes your sensitive clit you instantly gasp. His other hand rests on your neck. You realize that this man has a fascination with your neck, but you won’t complain though.
“You’re so pretty.” He whispers with his lips against your jaw. “Is our first time together going to be in this shower?”
“God I want it to,” you sigh as his finger plays with your clit. His slender fingers know just the right way to touch you. Your body feels like a live wire.
“Do I need to get a condom?” His hands never leave your body.
“No, I'm on birth control and I’m clean. I’ve never had sex without a condom.” You sigh. You know you should probably ask him to get a condom but you don’t trust anyone more in this world then Yoon Jeonghan.
“Can I fuck you raw in the shower?” His lips brush against yours.
“Please.” You would beg this man for anything.
“I need you to come on my fingers and then you can come on my cock,” his finger dipped down inside you. His palm works against your sensitive clit while he pumps two fingers in and out of you.
“Fuck-“ you whimper. The coil in your stomach is tightening as you feel like you’re on the brink of falling apart.
“Honey, just come for me,” his hand on your throat adds a little bit of pressure pushing you over the edge. A white hot wave washes over you as you moan his name loudly.
Cleaning your eyes, your head rests back against the tile as you try to catch your breath. He slowly removes his fingers from your wet core. Bringing them up to his lips he licks them clean.
“God you’re beautiful when you come,” he smiles before pressing his lips to yours for another heated kiss.
“I need you to trust me,” he says, taking your hand. “Turn around and press your chest against the wall.” You don’t even question his request, you just do what he asks. The cold tile against your hardened nipples makes you gasp. His hand kneads the flesh of your ass while running his length between your folds. “Are you ready?”
“Yes,” you moan as his bulbous head nudges your clit.
One hand grips your hip as he pushes into you. This thrust are slow but deep. This angle has him hitting the deepest parts. Your cheek rest against the tile trying to ground yourself as Jeonghan fucks you. You can only moan his name as he repeatedly brushes your g spot.
Reaching between your legs you rub your clit knowing that you are desperately close to falling apart.
“Fuck you’re tight,” he moans. “How am I supposed to go to Tokyo for a month after knowing what it’s like to be inside you?”
“Jeonghan-“ you can’t think of anything other than his name. “I’m- clo-close” you moan.
“Where can I finish?” He asked.
“Inside-“
“Baby please come-“
“Close-“ you whine.
He picks up his pace desperately trying to push you over the edge. His fingers are digging into your hips. You have a feeling he might be leaving bruises. You’ll look at them as a reminder of what unfolds tonight. This time when your orgasm hits you it’s the hardest you have ever came. You feel like you’re on the edge of blacking out. Your eyes practically roll back in your head as your walls contact. Jeonghan falls apart right behind you moaning your name. He paints thick white ropes inside you. Slowly he pulls out watching as his cum slowly drips out of you while you’re still leaning against the wall. Standing there for a moment taking in the site if you before he grabs a washcloth and cleans up the mess he made.
He helps you turn around so your back is resting against the wall. The smile on his face makes you smile as well.
“I can’t wait till I’m home and I just get to constantly be with you.”
Jeonghan aftercare consisted of him washing your hair and taking the time to fully clean your body before he pulls you to bed. He spent the entire night holding you and kissing you. You have one last round together where he makes slow passionate love to you promising he’ll be back soon.
When morning comes you drive him to the airport and say your goodbyes for now. You know that you may not get to be fully together right now, but you know that being fully with Jeonghan is what the future holds for you.

WARNING!! though I have already revised this fic, i have missed some things. there are still a few indications of the reader turning “red” during certain scenes. I will go through and edit it out as soon as I have time. I apologize for missing those errors. This was written back before I recognized the harm it caused, and have since removed it from my writing and no longer use these terms when describing reader. So, just be aware of that until I can edit it out.

Teaser | Part 1 | Part 2 | Epilogue
The cubicles are neat, the marble floors are shining brighter than crystals even after getting padded every now then. The fruity smell of the room refresher is strong enough to go on for days but the continuous clicking of keyboards sound loud enough to give a year worth migraines.
You duly wait by the office entrance, your daily routine, holding a takeaway paper cup which contains Iced Cinnamon Cappuccino.
A familiar car passes by towards the parking and you know that the person you're waiting for is gonna grace you with his presence soon.
Just in cue, that person walks by ignoring you and passes through the security check. You line up behind him, instantly feeling better just by seeing his face.
"How do you always manage to look so gorgeous?", you ask him giddily knowing very well that you won't be getting a response from him.
The security at the check smiles when you direct your requesting gaze at her. She let's you pass by and you're doing large strides in your heels.
"Here..", you are handing him the beverage cup, "Have a great day, Hannie!", you wish him and he doesn't even bat an eyelash as he saunters over to avail the elevator.
You stand there watching him as your lips curl up because your gazes meet for the first time for the day before the elevator door closes.
When you had switched to the current company you're working for two years ago as a Senior Developer you had never thought in your wildest dreams that you'd be turning into a lovesick puppy for the technical analyst of the team you had gotten assigned to.
Yoon Jeonghan got you enchanted the moment you had your eyes on him. You could vividly remember, it was your first day after getting assigned to a project and your manager was introducing you to your teammates.
Everyone seemed nice and greeted you with enthusiasm except one. Yoon Jeonghan was stoic throughout and for you, that heart within your chest thumped vigorously, eyes glued to him while the surroundings seemed to freeze.
Love at first sight was just a funny concept until Jeonghan made you experience it.
You would admit it unabashed that working in corporate world had given you chance to meet a lot of person but no one could ever do justice to suits more then Jeonghan.
Always been a spontaneous person and upon getting a confirmation that he's single your journey of courting him kickstarted.
It's been two years since then.
Everytime you ask him out, Jeonghan rejects you even without sparing a moment of thought.
You are currently working on debugging a piece of code which every other member of your team failed to solve and it ultimately fell into your court.
"I'm gonna run by the canteen, do you need anything?"
You lift your head to see Seokmin hovering over the partition of your desk.
"One strong black coffee, thanks Min.", you quickly say before focusing on the screen again.
You don't see the empathetic smile Seokmin throws at you.
It's almost afternoon and your prying eyes are stuck on the door of the cabin, adjacent to your desk.
Soon Jeonghan comes out of his cabin which prompts you to follow him to have lunch to together.
It's same everyday, Jeonghan not intending to let you sit with him but you do it anyways.
"Did the bug get resolved?", he asks, eyes set on the plate, "I think we have been stuck on this on for long, need to get it resolved asap."
You chew on the salad filling in your mouth to quickly gulp it and answer him, "I got the chance to look at it today. Hopefully, I wouldn't be spending much time on it."
Jeonghan nods making a brief eye contact with you.
So you proceed with the most important part of your daily ritual.
"Would you like to go on a date with me tonight?", you ask.
"No", comes his recorded response.
You smile mischievously, "Why? I thought I should be rewarded for fixing the code?"
Jeonghan scoffs, "You're knocking on the wrong door. Ask your manager to reward you. If he doesn't, go to the HR department and discuss the matter."
"But they're not you, Hannie.", you slip out the nickname on purpose knowing it irks him, "You're the one I want."
Jeonghan blatantly ignores you and when he's done eating, he cleans the corner of his lips with the tissues and then walks out of the canteen grabbing a water bottle.
Even his back profile should have a seperate fandom of its own, you ponder dreamily.
"Snap out of it, you're drooling."
You crane your neck to see that the seat beside you already occupied by Seokmin.
"Another rejection?" he asks and you nod.
The two of you continue to eat silently before Seokmin brings up the topic again, "Join our team Y/N, Wonwoo is moving out."
You give him a pointed look wishing it was as easy as it sounded. When you started working in the team, you worked under Jeonghan and within this span, everyone moved out or transferred except you. To work closer to Jeonghan and out of sentimentality, you stayed.
"It'll be a lot less hectic", Seokmin assures and points at your face, "Your concealor is doing a very bad job at hiding those dark circles."
You gasp and hit his arm, "Atleast Pandas got a competition even though they're cute and I'm just..."
"Beautiful." Seokmin says in a beat, "You are beautiful Y/N and Jeonghan is blind for not appreciating a woman like you."
He says with so much sincerity that you have to cower your gaze away.
"How long until you stop pursuing him?", he asks.
So that I can start courting you, he doesn't say.
"Until he accepts or...", you sing along, "the day I run out of my patience and the rejection finally settles in my bones."
Red might be your favourite colour but currently you're seeing green.
"Who's she, Wonwoo?", you hiss, lamenting on how you have to witness such a sight.
Apparently a woman whom you've never seen before is standing too close to Jeonghan, much to your disliking and the man in the picture seems unbothered with her hogging over and he's smiling.
He's smiling at whatever nonsense she's uttering!
"She's Seonji, my replacement.", Wonwoo speaks calmly, "Since it's my last week, I'll be giving her KTs before my departure."
"You don't care about me or Seokmin, do you?", you say sadly, "How would I function at all without your inputs?"
Wonwoo is another efficient co-worker who works with Seokmin and is a very good friend of yours.
"Not everyone will be a fool to stall their growth because of sentiments Y/N.", he retorts, meaning no malice.
Your throat closes up for a moment but you somehow manage to speak, "We're not having this conversation now, Woo."
"I know this won't go anywhere but there's a limit to everything. How long until you see it's not Jeonghan but someone else who deserves you.", Wonwoo thinks it's time he rats out Seokmin's name because he himself would never.
"What do you mean by someone else?", you counter back confused.
"It's been two years Y/N, people can go through whole lot of loving in this span, don't you think he's behaviour towards you should have been different if he cared even a bit?", Wonwoo is ruthless because he knows he needs to be the one to tell you because no one else would, "Has he ever smiled at you like that?"
"Woo please stop...", your eyes are teary, voice cracking, "You think I don't know that?"
Then you are walking away, wiping your tears. When there's something on your mind you always go to the rooftop to clear your mind out, of course not alone, you always find a lot of others, some shedding tears, some smoking cigarettes or some staring at the abyss.
You don't realise how much time has passed because you don't have your phone with you. Just as you are mentally preparing yourself to indulge into work you hear the call of your name from a very familiar voice.
"Do you think this company is paying you for slacking off?", Jeonghan says nonchalantly as he stands in front of you, "I can't even reach you on your phone."
Your lips curl up instantly, tiredness disappearing from your eyes, "Did you miss me Hannie?"
Jeonghan turns back & walks towards the door. You follow.
"When you're done fixing the bug, bring it to me for review.", he continues, "The clients have scheduled a meeting with us at 7pm. Be there."
"Aye aye captain!", you say from behind, "Can I ask you a question?"
You don't wait for Jeonghan to respond and ask right away, "Do you hate me?"
"Yes.", comes another of his recorded response.
You wonder how many more yes you can take for an answer.
The meeting ends at 10 and you're quickly collecting your belongings and almost parading so that you could avail the last bus since your car is given up for servicing.
You are sure that availing the bus is far fetched so you're taking out your phone to book a cab when you hear honking.
The familiar car stops by the road where you're standing and Jeonghan rolls down the window.
"Get in, I'll drop you.", he's looking at the way ahead and you are instantly getting in the passenger's seat.
"Wanna go to a restaurant for dinner?", you ask robotically, your tone dry. Jeonghan notices and sweeps a glance at you.
You look exhausted and he hopes it's only because of work.
"No", he says, "Put your address on the system's GPS.", as if it's not already instilled in the system.
You do as asked and Jeonghan sees you putting a different address.
"Did you change places?", he asks.
"A friend's address.", you don't explain further and it doesn't resonate well with him.
You thank him when he drops you at the doorsteps and watch him drive away until the car disappears from your sight.
The product deployment is scheduled for next month meaning work's gonna get more hectic than it already is.
You are knocking on the door and upon hearing a 'come in' you enter the cabin.
Jeonghan is seated on the revolving chair, the coat is hung on the headrest meaning that his only white shirt clad body is making you salivate. His head is laid back and you want nothing more than to stroke those luscious locks with your fingers. But for now, you push away your thoughts.
"I have mailed you a scheduler for the new product release.", you inform, "I think it's best if you arrange a meeting for all the teams involved and I'll give them a walkthrough on deployment and checkout procedures."
Jeonghan immediately straightens and checks the calender before scheduling a meeting for the next day.
"Tomorrow, 5 PM.", he stretches his arms out, "Anything else?"
The sight of viens protruding through his arms almost has you choked and you think it's best for your eyes to be up, "Y-Yeah? Oh well, I'll run by the Batch Ops department, do you have anything you want me to relay to them?"
Jeonghan searches for some files and takes out one from the stack and gives it to you, "Give it to Jihoon and tell him to send me the report by EOD."
You nod and ask, "There's this movie I have been meaning to watch, do you wanna go with me?"
"No.", he responds right away and you're already turning to exit the room when Seonji enters.
"Hannie!", she's intentionally loud and emphasizing and you are almost biting your tongue when you hear the nickname you've given him, to be called by her.
Not wanting to breathe in the same room as her, you are just taking a step ahead but you freeze on hearing her next words.
"The restaurant you took me to on Tuesday after work, I recommended it to my friends and they also loved it. Let's visit again sometime!"
You head whips to look at Jeonghan, to find him already staring at you.
It hurts your pride so you walk out of the room.
You're currently in the Batch Ops department, waiting for Jihoon. The said man is always busy, running on his heels and termed as the workaholic assistant supervisor of the department.
"Hey Y/N, did Jeonghan send the file?", you nod handing him the file and remind him to send the report.
"So how's your courting agenda going on?", he always asks and is even amused by the fact that how persistent you are to get Jeonghan when he doesn't show an ounce of interest in you.
You are generally joking with him on this but today you don't throw a banter and Jihoon is quick to understand that you're having a bad day so he doesn't pry further.
And on the way back you meet Seokmin who asks you to accompany him to the designated tent bar you both often go to. You agree instantly.
That night the owners of that tent bar knew how much you hate a woman named Seonji. They already know about your love for Jeonghan, since your alcohol tolerance is terrific, you cry river worth tears for that man everytime you're wasted and they feel pity for Seokmin who has to always clean up after you.
The product release approaches and everyone is pulling late nights or all nighters. Those who working in higher posts have to almost use office as a makeshift home mainly because they are dealing directly with the foreign clients and the time zones differ.
Though you are tired tattered, you make sure a cup of coffee of his preference always awaits him when Jeonghan enters his cabin. You also arrange the files, putting sticky notes in each section so he doesn't have to waste time searching for something. You make sure the cabin smells good and the place is neat. The towels are kept warm in the bathroom attached to the cabin and his favourite fragrance is filling the air inside cabin, so even if he's spending time at office, your efforts makes him think it's home.
When the rest ask how you do this, why do you do this, your answer is simple.
Isn't this what love is, to keep giving and not expecting anything in return.
"I think it's time you move on, Y/N.", your best friend Myeongho says after he shows up at your apartment one day.
Before you could retaliate his arms are up in his defence as he continues, "You know I'm never the type to judge or disregard anything casually. But this has been going on for long and it might hurt you but it's stagnant. You both made no progress. Two years, definitely a very long time and you can appear all happy and unfazed but I know every rejection must be hurting as hell."
You don't need words, the tears those stream down your facr speak volumes. Myeongho's presence is itself soothing and maybe that's why you are not loosing yourself in pits of sorrow for the moment.
What are supposed to do, you're so in love with Jeonghan, you're so used to him, so dedicated to him.
Myeongho pats your back while he's talking to his wife on his phone. You ponder over how Myeongho met her a year ago and now they are happily married with a baby on the way.
No one's story is comparable to other, each having it's own circumstances and pace but as your best friend said yours is totally different.
Unrequited and stagnant.
The product release is a success and now the work load is a lot lesser.
And as expected you're in Jeonghan's cabin.
"Are you free today?", you ask, "Wanna go to dinner? Not as a date, some people from our & Batch Ops team would be present as well."
Jeonghan is unabashed as usual, "I'm busy today."
He isn't explaining himself, it's his way of defining things. He's implying that on other days he's rejecting your advances without a reason and today he's doing it with a reason.
This time your face falls.
"Do you hate me?", you ask.
"Yes, you're annoying."
"Would you miss me if I leave?"
"No, a good riddance."
This time your heart hurts.
You are currently in a restaurant with Seokmin, Jihoon, Chaein and Joshua both working in your team, Soonyoung of Support Team and you've managed to pull Wonwoo in this eat out.
Wonwoo is currently making a disgusted face at Seokmin, who's doing some questionable mimicking of Jihoon, the man being mimicked being totally vested in eating whatever is there on his plate.
"Isn't that Jeonghan?"
Five pair of eyes follows Soonyoung's gaze and lands on Jeonghan.
"Wait that's Yoora with--"
Seokmin is late in slapping his hand over Soonyoung mouth because you have heard the name and it rings in your ear.
Kwon Yoora, Jeonghan's ex-girlfriend. The woman accompanying him tonight.
You have heard a lot about her from your colleagues because she used to work in the company you're working in. Well you're her replacement in terms of the position when you joined in. She worked with and under Jeonghan before you did.
This is the first time you're seeing her.
"I heard they had mutual breakup, seems they're still good friends.", Joshua comments.
Your eyes are glued to the table space where Jeonghan's hand is atop Yoora's. And he's smiling as he says something to her.
He never smiles at you like that.
"You guys continue eating.", Seokmin is already up grabbing his coat, "I'll get our food packed."
When Seokmin leaves, the rest four look at you worried and you feel pity for yourself. How could you not guess, Jeonghan had never lead you on, always being indifferent, constantly rejecting all your approaches for the last two year.
He didn't like you at all, he has been saying it all along but you were to stubborn to admit and accept. But now you do.
For you, it has been always him.
For him, it would be anyone but you.
You are grabbing your belongings, "Tell Seokmin, I'll be waiting by his car."
Then you sprint out. It's only when Wonwoo calls out your name, Jeonghan notices you.
He sees you running towards the exit, only if he didn't know better, he watches as you wipe your tears while do so.
Tonight it's not only you who's suffering from heartbreak, Seokmin's heart breaks yet again seeing those tear stained cheeks, hearing those wrenching sobs. He puts you to bed and sets the food on your table so that in the middle of night when you wake up hungry, you don't have to look around for food. He runs the bath for you, sets the towels and knowing that you'd be having a terrible headache later, he keeps the glass filled with water and the medicines on the nightstand. He does more and all while wiping his own tears.
Because like you, he too knows nothing breaks like a heart.
Next day Jeonghan doesn't see you at the office entrance. You don't greet him when he walks by your desk to his cabin. It's almost afternoon and you haven't walked through the cabin door even once. At lunch you don't sit with him, you're happily chatting away with Chaein while eating.
Jeonghan thinks something is wrong with him. Everytime he hears faint sound of footsteps his eyes perks at the cabin door. He doesn't like the coffee Seonji makes him. He doesn't like it when some random guy sits in front of him at lunch and while his eyes stray at you almost every second, you don't spare him a glance.
It's around 5 in the evening when you knock on his door.
Jeonghan can't describe the sensation his feeling right now, as if he has waiting for this moment lifelong.
You place a file on his table and say, "The Scheduler team wants to know about all the applications which are planned to retire from our system before the next monthly cycle. I have made a list for same, please have a look once and let me know in case of any concerns."
"Okay.", he says and you give him a nod.
"Don't you have anything to say?", he asks and you look at him confused, "No, I think this is the priority task at the moment, I'll let you know if anything else comes up, Jeonghan."
His own name feels foreign to his ears. By the time he's about to say something again, you are already out of his cabin.
This goes on for the whole week and Jeonghan feels he can't function anymore. He makes unnecessary trips within the office premise everytime walking by your desk just in hopes of getting called by you. You never do.
He waits for you at lunch but you're always gone. He never sees you smiling at him again. You never ask him out now. The coffee doesn't help to keep his stress away, the office doesn't feel homier anymore.
Isn't this all he wanted, Jeonghan asks himself. Aren't you the annoying co-worker who was always getting on his nerves?
And he's scared to listen to the answer his heart has to echo.
It's Monday, the first working day of a very new week and Jeonghan still looks at the entrance expectantly just to see you this time. He double takes to make sure he's not hallucinating and a smile tugs on his lips.
His face regains the seriousness as he approaches you and much to his dismay you don't notice him. He clears his throat to have your attention.
"Morning, Jeonghan.", you greet him curtly.
"Morning", he asks, eyes glancing over your hands to see if they have any takeaway coffee cup in them but they are empty, "Aren't you going in?"
"I'm waiting for someone.", comes your dry response.
Ain't that someone me?
"Okay....", he has no reason to linger anymore.
You are exhausted, sleep deprived blame the late night marathons of your favourite shows you've been pulling.
Reason, to keep your mind occupied with something which is not Jeonghan but the ache in your heart never dulls. Even though you have choosen peace with the fact that he'll never be yours, it's so new and difficult for you act indifferent towards him when you have been in love with him for two whole years.
When you're phones notifies you of a text, it has you rubbing your eyes just to make you're seeing it correct. You have got a text from Jeonghan reading-
Please make me coffee, it's a request.
When the Yoon Jeonghan who never texts you, never bothers to type back a response to your greetings or queries other anything related to work sends you a text, you're shocked.
Jeonghan feels like he can finally get the productive cells of body to work when he sees you entering holding a cup of coffee.
"You don't look good.", you say placing the cup on his table, "Are you okay?"
When he doesn't respond, you continue, "If you're not feeling well, please take the day off, I'll notify you of any urgent matters from our team prospective."
Jeonghan thinks it's the only chance he'd get to clear the misunderstandings so he speaks, "Me and Yoora are still good friends, that night at the restaurant she treated me because of a promotion she got at her company."
"Great to know. Good wishes on my behalf.", you are poised when you say, "From next time please refrain from sharing anything other from work related matters. I have no interest in your personal life and I think we are not close at all to be sharing updates on same."
Either he's mishearing or you're possessed, he's sure it's either. This ain't the you he wants. This ain't the you he needs.
Your tone emits grief when you speak further, "I deeply regret for the inconvenience I've caused you for the past years. I'm really sorry. But rest assured I won't be causing any more trouble, I'll out soon."
"What do you mean by that?", he's off his seat and in front of you instantly, "Did something happen?"
"Indeed.", You nod while smiling, "I accepted that you won't go out with me. I also accepted that you hate me. So there's no more pestering you from my side."
Jeonghan never thought his words would come back to him biting in his ass which he's not capable of taking.
"You can't do this...", he's not even sure of the words he's uttering, "Are you giving up on me?"
"Yes, I'm giving you what you wanted by giving up on you."
Jeonghan realises how much that he has gotten used to you. You're like the good parasite that clogs his mind whenever you're around and even if you're not. His mornings used to start with your messages, you used to magnetize yourself on him during the office hours and the last notification he got before sleeping was also from you.
So now he doesn't like the lack of attention from you at all and he'd do anything to have it back. He'd do anything to have you back.
He tries to be in your shoes for the next days. He waits for you at the entrance holding four cups of takeaway coffee cups because he doesn't you what like. Everyone who passes throws him a questioning gaze. Everyone except you. You walk pass by him, unfazed and unbothered.
"Y/N wait!", when you don't stop, he is following you, "I bought these for you and also if you could tell me what you like so that I can buy that."
You give him an incredulous look, "What are trying to do?"
"Just trying to get you morning coffee..."
You scoff and walk away.
When you go for lunch, Jeonghan pops up out of nowhere and not only he's tailing you, he's even occupying the seat beside you. He's suddenly texting you good mornings and good nights and throughout the day something or other but there's no progress.
Roles reversed, you don't even bat an eyelash at him now.
It makes him realise how ass of a person he has been to you and how angel of a human you were to tolerate all this and still love him with your all.
"What's wrong with Jeonghan nowadays?", Joshua asks genuinely curious. You all are gathered for a coffee break, as he stands opposite to where Jeonghan is stood from accross the room, he constantly notices him throwing glances, "He keeps looking at you Y/N."
"Jeonghan is that thick brain who realises what he had and lost when it's too late.", Jihoon snorts as he takes a sip casually, "What the hell, who put sugar in my coffee?"
Joshua is suddenly walking away and you laugh which makes Jihoon aware of the culprit.
Next he's chasing Joshua.
You are still smiling, gaze lingering on those two when you notice Jeonghan approaching you from the periphery of your vision. Not wanting to waste any energy on him you think of leaving the hall when someone bumps into you.
It's Seonji.
"Heard you stopped chasing Jeonghan?", she taunts, "Good that your brain's finally working."
"I want to you know if this concerns you anyway and why?", you ask and quickly turn to check if Jeonghan is in hearing vicinity. He is.
"I thought it's obvious? That we're close and might be together soon.", she says confidently, "You've noticed how behaves towards you is completely opposite of how his behaviour is towards me."
"Congratulations", you pat on her arm and incline closer to her as you whisper in her ear , "Let's see if Jeonghan is aware of this as well?"
Seonji's freezes for a moment when she realises that Jeonghan has been present there all along and have listened to the conversation that just happened.
"Congratulations to you too Jeonghan.", you wish him, "I can see, a match made of likes."
"There's nothing going on between us Y/N", he pleads as his hands itches to grab you so that you don't slip away before he finishes but out of professionalism and respect he doesn't, "She's just a junior from my university."
'You don't have to explain, I'm not interested.", you tell him before walking out.
Jeonghan is furious and Seonji thinks his glare is enough to make her evaporate without any trace.
"Jo Seonji", his voice is dangerously low and threatening, "I was being nice to you just because we're acquaintances from before but I realised how wrong it was."
"Han--"
"It's Jeonghan for you. If I hear you uttering such nonsense one more time, I'll report you to the committee for harassing me.", he's practically glowering, "And I want the database for all the transactions that occurred between us and our oldest clients with the analysis document by EOD."
"But that's too much of data Jeonghan, how would I be able to--"
"That's for you to sort out.", he says, "If I don't get the design model, I'll report it to your manager and she'll handle it from there."
Seonji is all sweaty and faltering when she hears, "I see you anywhere near Y/N without any official need, I'll make sure you're stepping down your position."
To those who thought Jeonghan has changed, they just witnessed the infamous scary Yoon Jeonghan again today.
They also realised that Jeonghan is still the same authoritative, strict and stoic faced coordinator for all.
He has changed, just for you.
"When are you gonna tell her?", Soonyoung asks wrapping his arm around Seokmin's shoulder as they gather on the rooftop during the lunch break.
Seokmin is torn.
"She's coping up with the pent ups because of Jeonghan and I don't wanna add to her stress.", he laments.
"I hate to admit that you're correct but I'm worried because I think if you don't shot your shoot now then it'll be gone.", Soonyoung's concern is evident in his tone.
"I can't just tell Y/N that I love her all of a sudden when she's in love with someone else for a long time.", it pains him to speak it out, "Because I know how painful unrequited love can be..."
Soonyoung sighs, as he frames his next question carefully, "When will be the right time, Seokmin?
There's never a right time, he thinks.
Jeonghan doesn't avail the elevator, he's climbing down the stairs hurriedly.
When he decided to go the rooftop to cool off after the Seonji episode he again unintendedly overhears the conversation between Soonyoung and Seokmin, the two men obviously staying oblivious about his presence.
His anger from before morphs into a mix of shock and scare. Shock because it didn't occur to him ever that Seokmin could be in love with you. Scared because, well he is yet to figure out the reason.
Walking through the hoistway door leads his chance encounter with Mr. Choi, your manager.
"Jeonghan", he calls him, "I have been meaning to meet you."
"Anything urgent Mr. Choi?"
Mr. Choi smiles, "It might be, for your concern. Y/N has requested for transfer, she wants to move out the team."
Jeonghan stiffens, all the strength in his body dwindles.
Carefully studying his face, his unfocused eyes and a lack of response urges Mr. Choi to speak further, "Since you're her immediate senior and she has been working under you for these years, your say would matter because I know no one would want to loose an efficient member like her. If the team has enough effort excluding her then I'd approve her request "
"Thanks for letting me know Mr. Choi. Please put it aside for now, I'll talk to her and get to back to you.", Jeonghan requests and the older man obliges.
You are currently working on reconciliation of a piece of code with all your concentration when there's a knock on your desk. You look up to find Jeonghan who's mutters a serious 'in my cabin now' when your gazes meet before walking into the said room.
You think of everything and anything you could have done to cause any trouble but nothing comes up, so you are immediately off your seat and entering the cabin.
Jeonghan has never felt this exhausted in his entire life, never because of you. When you used to clinge to him it had became a normality, though he never admited it was the only fun and good part of the office hours. You made him feel the belongingness, when everyone was scared of him, you were brave enough to step up and court him.
And now when he sees the indifference in you towards him, learns about Seokmin's feelings for you, he's beyond frustrated.
Another mistake, he channels it in a wrong way and at a wrong time.
"Jeonghan?"
Your call of his name breaks his reverie.
He looks you dead in yours eyes and asks, "You requested a tranfer?"
You knew your manager would be informing Jeonghan and the only obstacle in that request to get approved would be him, the reason you wanted the transfer in first place.
Before you could assert an answer Jeonghan scowls, "Are you really going to bring your personal life to your workspace? Suddenly one day you decide you'll stop liking me or whatever and then you're requesting to be assigned to a different project? Is that what you call professionalism Y/N?"
You are rendered speechless. You don't let those tears pooling in your eyes fall even though you are hurt.
"I thought two years is long enough to know someone", you inhale sharply, "But you don't know me at all. I wasted two years of my life for the guy who just now disregarded my love for him by calling it liking or whatever."
Jeonghan bites his tongue hard when he traces back on the words he had uttered.
"When I had asked you that if it would matter to you if I leave, you had casually slipped out a good riddance. So I'm doing us a favour and you should be happy but you're not.", you are hot in anger and rage, as your gaze tows upon the man infront of you, "You're not happy because no one's buying you coffee, no one's keeping you company, you don't have your files organised, you don't have anyone to take shit from you without retorting. Have you been always this selfish?"
It's his turn to be speechless. He has seemingly fueled every occurance for the past years to work against him currently.
"This is professionalism Yoon Jeonghan.", you tell him, "Me not stalling my growth anymore and letting in space for productivity and skills showcasing for myself is my professionalism. I stayed because of you but I won't do that anymore."
"I'm sorry, please let me clarify things", Jeonghan is eyeing you alarmingly as he walks towards you.
You hold out your arm and his feet instantly roots to the ground.
"Thanks for assuring me that I've made the right decision. You aren't worthy of my love, you never were. I'll stop loving you one day and I'll make sure that day comes soon."
A tear falls down your cheek and then they are streaming altogether. You fail to choke the sobs and Jeonghan says nothing, knowing that the only way he can help you is by keeping his silence.
And when you sprint out of the cabin, he wants nothing but to stop you and engulf you in his embrace. Although he's physically frozen but his mind deducts several conclusions.
He senses by hurting you, he hurts himself tenfold.
He laments on the fact that office is just all work and nothing to look forward to anymore because he misses you.
He likes his personal space invaded only if it's by you.
Maybe it's late but he's sure that his heart is constricting in pain within his chest because it's broken.
This time he's choking a sob, legs giving up as he falls to the ground when he finally accepts that he got his heartbroken even before he realised that he's in love.
That he's in love with you.
