Here's a land planarian! Land planarians are commonly known as hammerhead worms despite not being annelids (segmented worms). While some species are invasive, they're a fascinating family of creatures that come in a stunning variety of colors/ patterns!
Please keep any comments about killing land planarians to yourself. Invasive species aren't invasive everywhere and can be appreciated and valued in their native range.

Also referred to as Hammerhead worms, genus Bipalium is a group of large land flatworms found worldwide and are considered to be an invasive species in many places like the US and Europe. The name Hammerhead or Broadhead comes from the shape of their head region, which looks similar to the head of a hammerhead shark. This genus unlike most planarians is predatory and feeds on “large” invertebrates like earthworms and mollusks. But it feeds the same way as all planarians by extending it's pharynx out of its mouth (which is located in the middle of its body) and digesting the prey outside of the animal.

hello my dears... striped hammerhead worm today
this is one of those odd-looking creatures that are always exciting to find in the soil after rain. theyre slow moving and appear docile but are pretty efficient predators that can hunt living mollusks and earthworms.
when attacking their prey they use their sticky slime along with their muscular body to hold their prey captive before releasing digestive enzymes which break down the soft body of their prey... which they then absorb through the skin of their bodies. pretty metal for such a small and colourful little worm
