i can´t be the only one in this situation lol
OKKKK I finally made myself start watching it lol I saw like 3 episodes in a row last night and I have a few things to say
1) Buck I love you babyyyyy it's so obvious all the issues he has. All those things with the sex? Definitely an addiction and I have to skip the scenes with Abby bc they made genuinely uncomfortable. And DON'T make talk about that fucking therapist
2) That Bobby? Not the one I have been seeing in all those edits and long paragraphs about him and love it hsksh can't wait to see everything about him in more details
3) ATHENA HAKSH that poor women I love her she's amazing can't wait to see more of here too
4) last but not least important, I really like Chim and Hen. Same with them, I really want to see more.
Tbh I thought that I'll feel more secondhand embarrassment, especially from Buck. But so far I can handle it lol those emergencies truly are something else

I Love You, You Pay My Rent: Chapter Seven
First Chapter (Prologue)
Previous Chapter (Chapter Six)
Nico had been living with Will solace for five weeks and he was starting to think he finally got Will. All the things he’d found mysterious in the beginning – the constant absences, the need for having someone else in the apartment, - all of that could be explained. Far from being shallow and uninterested in hard work as Nico had initially thought, all those times Nico had thought he was out in clubs he was usually just in the library studying. As for needing someone else in the apartment, Nico got that too. He preferred having Will around; it made the space feel less empty. He liked coming in to see Will with about five textbooks open and spread out around him, or sprawled on the sofa watching tv. Coming home to Will felt more like coming home than opening the door to find an empty apartment.
Five weeks in he was also beginning to accept he was pretty much doomed in terms of avoiding a particularly painful crush. Still despite Nico nearly kissing him in the museum, Will seemed mercifully oblivious. Maybe he’d just thought Nico was doing his part as Will’s public boyfriend. However Will had rationalised it, he hadn’t brought it up and Nico certainly wasn’t going to.

So you know how it's canon that Will listens to true crime podcasts?
What if that's how he finds out that Nico is from the 1940s?!
Like he's listening to the latest episode about 'the death of Maria di Angelo and the disappearance and supposed kidnapping of her missing children, Niccolò and Bianca di Angelo'.
And it's not all that strange for demigods to pop up in conspiracy blogs or podcasts - Percy had a four part series about him, and Will listened to the whole thing during a nightshift at the infirmary.
So yeah, Will starts listening to the di Angelo episode thinking nothing of it, maybe he's just hoping to have a laugh about what the mortals thought happened to Nico or maybe he's more than a little curious about Nico's mysterious past.
And the hosts, in crackling stereo voices because they desperately need a better mic, are talking about lightning striking the hotel, how "the storm popped up out of nowhere" and the "strange seismic activity reported in the area at the time"...and then the date drops...
The hosts say something along the lines of, "The di Angelo siblings were reported missing by their family back in Italy after no word had been received of their safe passage to America. The police report states they were last seen by an anonymous witness entering the Lotus Hotel & Casino with an unknown third party in December of 1942."
And Will's just sat there, gaping at the infirmary bed he'd been stripping of its sheets. Because everything is adding up now, and Will's not quite sure how he missed it...
little bit of self-promo bc this post is still getting attention over a year later. I've now written a fic inspired by (but different from) this headcanon...
Fic Summary:
“The Infamous Seven are named for the famous picture that circulated some five years ago now (2010)…This freeze frame from a tourist’s vlog contains six missing persons and one other, who, as far as anyone can tell, doesn’t exist.”
Will Solace, Cecil Markowitz, and Lou Ellen Blackstone are beginning the third season of their podcast, ‘If You DARE…’. After investigating the mysterious disappearance and alleged reappearance of Thalia Grace in their first season, and the kidnapping of Perseus Jackson for season two, now they’re taking on their biggest mystery yet: The Infamous Seven.
Will would have never guessed where his life would lead him—running a true crime podcast with his two closest friends certainly wasn’t on his list. But when their investigations pull Will and his friends into a mystery of their own, his whole world turns upside-down.
Meanwhile, Nico slipped through the cracks after the war against Gaea, drawn to an isolated life in the mortal world with only limited contact with his demigod acquaintances. But as a certain podcast begins to unravel his sister’s secrets (and the whole mythological world), Nico’s carefully curated solitude begins to crumble, and Nico learns the past is not so easily buried.

Unconditionally

It’s been a week since Bucky had come to live with him. A week since he got out of cryo, since the Wakandans removed the Soldier's triggers.
Steve’s so grateful to have him back. His biggest support, his unconditional love, his best friend.
Bucky still has gaps in his memory. Some of the good got removed with the bad while he was deconditioned. Steve doesn’t know what remains. He isn’t even sure if Bucky fully knows.
So he waits. He isn’t sure if Bucky remembers them. Their love, the extent of their unconditionality. And if he does, Steve isn’t sure if Bucky wants that anymore; if he’s ready for that now.
Even if he doesn’t want to resume their relationship, Steve will stay. It’s what friends do. And his friend has been through unspeakable pain. He needs Steve as a friend more than Steve needs him as a lover.
It reminds Steve of when he was young and frail. His body couldn’t sustain a relationship, and the circumstances of their times made it futile to yearn. Yet Bucky waited for him. He waited until he was comfortable, let him have his friendship until he wanted more. Patience was a virtue Steve had never quite grasped.
It made sense as to why Steve was always on the front lines and Bucky was a sniper, hidden in the back ever waiting. Maybe this was the Lord’s way of teaching him, although Steve isn’t sure if he’s a believer anymore.
So he shows his love by being there for Bucky, much like how he felt the Lord was there for him. Or maybe he never was. Bucky was the only person besides his Ma that had ever been there for him, made him feel better. The Lord hasn’t answered his prayers, Steve had made them come true himself. Or rather, Erskine did.
He takes Bucky to and from his therapy sessions; he even attends some when asked. He holds his hand through his medical appointments and through maintenance on the arm. He cooks for Bucky, comforts him when he wakes screaming from nightmares of faceless hands touching him. He cuts Bucky’s hair when the feeling of it being washed triggers flashbacks. He bathes him when the feeling of water falling on his head feels too familiar.
Unconditionally, Steve is there. Steve almost never wants anything in return for this. Bucky would have done the same, did the same. In sickness and in health, until death do them part. And death has not parted them yet.
They may not have been ripped apart by death, but 70 years and Hydra certainly had. In many ways, Bucky is still Bucky. He looks the same, his voice is the same, some of his memories are even the same.
But the Bucky he knew wasn’t quiet. He loved listening to music. The cadence of his voice was different. The Bucky he knew danced.
Steve supposes he’d changed quite a bit too. His breath is different, as was the cadence of his step. His height, weight, body shape had all changed. His state of mind has changed, too. His naïveté had been stomped out long before he got Bucky back.
32557038, Bucky whispers in his sleep– when he does sleep. The same number is stamped into Steve’s chest, its weight around his neck. It’s guilt, he realizes one night staring at that one spot on their ceiling. He’d left Bucky behind. He could have gone back, they could have been frozen together under turbulent waves. They could have woken up together, had each other, could have grieved together. Alas, pondering what could have been doesn’t do either of them any good, the past was cruel, cold, and lonely. Instead, they move forward.
Now night time is for building new memories. Steve shows him his favorite things about this strange new world they now live in. Movies, TV shows, food. Bucky tries sushi for the first time and hasn’t stopped ordering it since. He loves strawberry ice cream and canned whipped cream. Steve bought him a Kinder egg once, and now the window sill in their bathroom is lined with little plastic toys.
At his next therapy session, Bucky’s therapist suggests he get an emotional support animal. Initially, they go looking for a dog. They realize quickly that a dog is too loud for either of them. They want peace in their old age, although neither of them would ever admit to that.
They go to a cat rescue. Steve must have hundreds of pictures on his phone of Bucky holding kittens, but only one of the kittens makes his eyes sparkle in a way that matches the young soldier in Steve’s memory.
They name her Alpine. Well, Bucky names her Alpine. Bucky vehemently rejected Steve’s name suggestions, calling them too “basic”, saying that you’d never know Steve was an artist with his lack of creativity. Steve can’t blame him, a white cat named Snowy would be redundant.
When Bucky sleeps through the night for the first time, it’s with Alpine curled up on his chest.
It’s the first night that Steve actually sleeps too. They’ve been sharing a bed since Bucky’s first nightmare. Call it convenience, call it yearning for a lost time, but it’s been easier to console him without breaking down a door and inflicting further trauma.
Alpine’s presence has been a great help to both of them. Steve read a study about how purring lowers blood pressure, and he swears he can feel the effects. Bucky called him an old man for it.
But he can see the effects on Bucky. The permanent, purple rings around his eyes lighten. His mood is less erratic. His reactions to triggers have become less intense. Alpine being within arm’s reach has a calming effect on Bucky.
Steve buys a cat carrier backpack. Natasha had sent him a video of a cat in one, and he knew immediately he had to get one for Bucky. Being in public was nothing short of terrifying for Bucky. Too many people, too many sounds, too much.
Armed with a pair of ear plugs and Alpine in her backpack, Bucky steps outside for the first time since being with Steve without the hairs on the back of his neck being permanently raised. Steve nearly cries watching Bucky buy fruit at the farmers market.
Steve cooks them dinner with the things Bucky chose from the market. He makes plum pudding for dessert. They laugh and joke with each other. They toast to four months of their reunited friendship with a shot of Thor’s mead. They end up squished together on the couch, Alpine stretched out across their laps.
Neither of them have said anything in a while. Steve is scared that anything he says will break the spell cast around them, the peace and warmth practically visible in the air. Bucky giggles and sways into his chest at one point. He stays there. Steve’s hands end up in his hair, stroking soft, short strands.
“When are you going to say it?” Bucky’s voice comes out in a near whisper, barely audible.
“Say what, Buck?” Steve can hear his heart in his ears.
“That you love me. That you still love me, even after everything. That you love me the same way you did back then.”
Steve says nothing for too many moments.
“I wasn’t sure if you wanted me to love you anymore,” he whispers, ashamed. He knew his chest up to his ears was flushed a deep red. He wished Bucky would tease him about it.
Bucky looks up at him, tears welling in his eyes instead.
“When I said ‘‘till the end of the line’, I meant it, Steve. Did you not?” Steve’s heart breaks at Bucky’s wavering voice. Steve takes Bucky’s face in his hands and presses their foreheads together.
“Of course I meant it. It’s you, Buck. It’ll always be you.”
It’s only when Bucky’s lips meet his own that he understands. The Lord is love, and love is Bucky. His whole life finally falls back into place with this one kiss. Every ounce of resentment towards Him is gone. Resentment to Him is resentment to Bucky. Bucky can’t do magic, he can’t perform miracles. But he can love Steve.
Unconditionally.
(And Steve thinks that’s a miracle enough in itself.)
reread the first actual chapter of this one and impressed myself, so here's the intro chapter (might post to ao3 later, idk)
What if... Bucky Barnes Lost His Mind Instead of His Arm?
Summary: Bucky doesn’t lose his arm when he falls from the train. Instead, he loses his dog tags, and hits his head at the bottom. Bucky wakes up without his memories, and escapes before Hydra can get to him. Legally, James Buchanan Barnes is MIA, but when even Bucky doesn’t know where to find himself, how will he ever reunite with Steve?
In the meantime, Steve grieves his best friend and returns to New York with Peggy. The SSR is assigned several significant cases in the next three years, but when one case in particular contains threads connecting to someone from Peggy's past, it might just lead to something bigger.
Or; Bucky survives the train, but who the hell is Bucky?
Intro: Jump From the Train (Ride Off Alone)
Bob giving up control of his life to the physical embodiment of his depression and then beating himself up over it and the void just becoming more powerful as a result is such a perfect metaphor. like yeah, that's exactly how it is, you can't beat depression with self-loathing, you need support and purpose and the people you love and loves you. they pulled it off beautifully
by TheOneandOnlyAthenaB

“That’s James Barnes—literally one of the most well-known actors in the world, dude!” Jimmy echoed her sentiment. “He was awesome—so many movies, a couple shows, he had a huge career. And he was gay, which was a big deal. He had sooo much controversy too.”
“Hayward gave the story to you?” Monica seems in disbelief. “No offense—but he’s so..anti-you most of the time, but he gave you his best story?”
”I don’t know why he did it, it’s just what he gave me. It’s a long-term thing—it’s writing his biography, basically.” Darcy explained. “Book format.”

Hollywood star James Barnes finally to tell all in a long awaited memoir.

yah obviously I wasn’t fucking stupid enough to think that marvel n the homophobic rat were actually going to let steve and bucky hold hands but I was dumb enough to think that after the whole ‘til the end of the line’ ‘no not without you’ ‘inseparable’ ‘even when I had nothing I had bucky’ ‘steve drops his shield twice for bucky and his voice breaks thru 70 years of brainwashing’ thing they’d let them, you know, at least live in the same century. my bad
🆘🆘
i think they should fuck nasty until their beards are wet & sticky (til bucky requests a day off bc he can’t walk)

“But Steve made me want to consume every inch of his body, to be within it.
He was a glimmer inside, that churned the blood within my veins, rushing to every vessel. If Steve wished, he could tear me open and lick the last drops of maroon on my flesh. I wanted him to tear me apart, I wanted him to taste me as if I was fine wine for dining. As if I was a slave to his fangs, and fingers that gripped my skin, indenting every part of my soul with his touch.”
