I don't get people whining over how Amadeus is being remade for TV. The original film is still going to exist. Adaptations happen all the time. If you don't like it, ignore it. Don't be so sensitive, it's just a television series. It's not as any of the OG film crew has come out to bash it.
Now onto the more ridiculous criticism: God forbid Mozart isn't played by a fully white man. Yet again, people are clutching their pearls for no reason. He's still played by a good actor, and a gorgeous one at that. If anyone is irritated that Will Sharpe is portraying Mozart, then just get a grip. He's acting. He's doing his job.
Whether you admit it or not, it is fucked up to be outraged at a half Japanese man playing Mozart.
I can't wait. He's one of my favourite actors, one of the most brilliant creatives out there and whatever his performance as Mozart is like, I'm looking forward to it
THIS. THIS. FINALLY SOMEONE WITH SOME SENSE. First of all I find disrespectful that people already criticise something that isn't even out yet. Watch it and THEN criticise if you must. There are PEOPLE who have WORKED on this series. And why no one has said anything about Mozart/Mozart with is absolutely historical inaccuracy? Because they are all whites! Except the Salieri actor with his dark olive skin, but then, as an Italian with red hair, fair skin and blue eyes, I must say that we are not like that, not even in southern Italy. As a northern Italian Salieri would have had fair skin. But why I didn't criticise this cast choice? Oh, let me think... maybe because IT'S A SERIES ABOUT EVENTS TOTALLY INVENTED?
Some people on YouTube, when I have commented about how this Amadeus version is a play ADAPTATION even had the audacity of replying to me "but I was in the play and the dialogues aren't like those in the trailer!". My guy... do you even know what an ADAPTATION is? Are a screenwriter? Do you know how much our beloved movie differs from the source material? Mh? Do you REALLY KNOW?
Respect another take on this story. Is the SECOND Amadeus on the screen, the SECOND. Not the 1000 Sissi's movie, ok? And you can't already criticise something from a trailer that is made to COMMERCIALISE the miniseries.
Im excited personally! And I knew it was an adaptation of the play!
Me too! ❤️
