DIY Beowulf illuminated manuscript storybook.
Step 1: Print it. Step 2: Pen it. Step 3: Paint it. Step 4: Put it together.
If you want to learn some Uncial calligraphy and use it to build your own little illuminated manuscript you can start with Beowulf! This is a great homeschool art and handwriting project to try out before jumping into the full Arthuriad or Psalter projects.

Homeschooling like Alfred the Great... I was captivated by illuminated manuscripts when I was a kid, so now my work is all about making this beautiful world of art and legend accessible to my kids and others - young ones need to engage in handiwork that is valuable and significant, and they need to imagine a world full of valor and beauty, for they will be the ones to make it! Today is the last day to join the project:
Six Arthurian legends for children, taught the medieval way. Learn illumination, calligraphy, and bookbinding as you create a personal libra
When you're coloring in your Arthurian stories, you'll see some little puzzles and typically medieval touches, like a Latin inscription for the Sword in the Stone page taken from the classical poet Aeschylus: "The anvil of justice is planted firm, and fate who makes the sword does the forging in advance." Last 48 hours to reserve yours!

We're starting with the Irish style for our Arthuriad project with the kids - helping them make their own epic collection of illuminated stories. Whether you want to make the whole books with us, or just get cool coloring pages every month, there's still a couple of days left to lock in!

My children will inherit a castle, not a mortgage.
We're 15 Psalms in - 10% of the way through the Psalter. I wanted to show off the 9-year-old's work on the first signature; she is absolutely crushing it!
