Apparently there are three musicals about Lorenzo da Ponte:
The Phoenix (USA) - mostly about his life in America, with flashbacks to Europe. One actress played Wolfgang Mozart and Nancy (Lorenzo's wife). I can't find any videos online.
'Nigero!' ~Mozart's Librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte~ (Japan). First Mozart/Da Ponte's duo lyrics are clearly based on the poet/composer duo from Salieri/Casti's opera "Prima la musica, poi e parole". Lorenzo was pissed off that Casti (the lyricist) wrote a parody of him. Musically, all these song excerpts give me deja vu, which is a good meta commentary on Mozart's and Da Ponte's working routine: both lifted bits, pieces and plots from other authors.
Da Ponte: Mozart no Kage ni Kakurete mou Hitori no Tensei (Japan) 『ダ・ポンテ~モーツァルトの影に隠れたもう一人の天才~』 which translates as Another Genius in the Mozart's Shadow
(Mozart, Da Ponte, Salieri)
