If you're new here, hi! This is the official Priro.pro Tumblr! But it's not just a blog I use solely for Tumblr fun. I use this blog as a convenient way to embed update posts on the Priro.pro website.

What is Priro.pro?

Priro.pro is the art and visual novel project of the most smokin' hot Italian autistic transmasc in at least the state of New York, Prince Rosalium! That's me!

I'm most known for my visual novel series, Parfum Nostalgique and my shop where I sell my handmade and hand-dye clothes and accessories, but I also like to use my website to compile lists and guides about my interests and hobbies. I also like to use my site to spotlight other visual novel developers and uplift queer artists through curated lists.

What is Parfum Nostalgique?

Parfum Nostalgique is my solo visual novel project, and Priro.pro is its home. I am the artist, writer, composer, programmer, and general Everything Man for this project, which was completed and released over the course of 4 years.

Trans characters, trans voice actors, trans experience. Fantastic, dramatic, romantic, traumatic, and FREE!

Welcome to Priro.pro

This is an updated guide to Priro.pro, the ever-growing monster that is my website, game development studio, and general life work.

Priro.pro was started as a home for my art, commission information, hobbies, and most notably, my indie visual novel series Parfum Nostalgique.

As I spent countless hours working on my creative endeavors and posting about them online, I began to realize that my hard work was not as visible to others as I would have liked. No matter how consistently I followed guides on how to improve my online presence, I was never satisfied with the results.

I quickly gathered that this was not just a "me" problem. With its introduction of generative AI, censorship of queer/NSFW content, and over-reliance on algorithms to determine whose are is and isn't worthy of going viral, social media was and is becoming increasingly more antagonistic toward indie creators. Not only that, but the online marketplaces myself and my other game dev friends relied on for the distribution of our work now censor and suppress anything that payment processors deem to be in violation of their terms of service.

The state of the current Internet is, at best, unwelcoming. The state of the games industry is, in one word, predatory. But in these times where there is very little room for optimism, I have found it in communities of people who decide to create anyway, and know that their work is more important now than ever.

The goal of Priro.pro, in all its experimental glory, is not to be a comprehensive, all-encompassing solution to everything that's wrong with the indie scene. It is to be a place where you can watch one man surrounded by creators who care about each other throw ideas at the wall and see which ones stick, in the hopes that you might join him in your own way. It is a small room filled with wonderful people, a break from the barrage of firing synapses that is social media, made without consideration for what is marketable or clickable. It is full of unfinished lists, badly coded pages, random ads for indie creators, secret vaults, charming jank, and most importantly, love.

This last month has been BUSY, both online and in person!

Game Updates

We made it to in-game August!! The game is now 2/3 complete, with the September Early Access update adding July 28 to August 1.

Early Access v0.4 Changelog

Added in-game days July 25th to August 1st.

This includes a pass on story branches, conditions, writing, backgrounds, music, and voice adlibs.

8 new backgrounds: 8 dream scenes.

3 new characters and a rough sketch of their sprites.

More voice lines! From July 5th to July 23rd.

Added dust particle VFX for some of the dreams.

Updated the content warnings to be a bit more specific.

June 28th: If the dream is repeated, it starts after the second "wake up" so it's less long and repetitive.

July 11th to July 26th: Adjusted the relationship pacing.

July 26th and 27th: Updated expressions and adlibs.

UI: Semi-opaque text box on in-game gallery image moments is now the default.

The Queerness and Games Conference

This month, my wife and I went to Canada for QGCon! DEVIL'S LIMINAL was part of the arcade, alongside a ton of other amazing games. Unfortunately I didn't have time to attend any talks, but I did get to play some of the featured games and chat with attendees!

Seeing the game played in person and talking with other devs was extremely rewarding and just the morale boost we needed.

Steam Festivals

DEVIL'S LIMINAL was part of two Steam festivals last month: The Hungry Ghost Festival hosted by South East Asia Game Aesthetic, and the Fall in Love Visual Novel Festival hosted by Studio Élan.

Both of these were pretty fun! Lots of wishlists and new players, and I reached out to several streamers to cover the game. I'm very thankful for the support and coverage from them. On my Bluesky I've tried to repost each one as they post about it.
