Let Jeffrey Sachs cook.
Athens Democracy Forum on September 28, 2022. The event took place in Athens, Greece, as part of the forum's annual gathering organized by The New York Times in collaboration with other partners. Sachs was participating in a panel discussion titled "A Decade of Democracy: China and Russia," moderated by Steven Erlanger, the chief diplomatic correspondent for The New York Times in Europe. Around the 20-minute mark of the session, Sachs stated, "The most violent country in the world since 1950 has been the United States," prompting Erlanger to interject with, "Jeffrey, I’m your moderator, and it’s enough," effectively halting his remarks. This moment drew significant attention and sparked discussions about free speech at the forum.

my tribe has over 40,000 citizens and a landbase of 225 acres but yeah. we're absolutely a huge and imminent ethnonationalist threat to the survival of the white real important non-native people of North America
yeah bro! you really stuck it to those "indigenous" people by...repeating the same justifications for their extermination that the US military used....and like, Great Replacement rhetoric. you go girl, get those Indians' ethnonationalist asses, how dare they say "land acknowledgments" in public
pay no attention to the fact that historically Indigenous peoples of North America did not use ancestry or ethnicity as an exclusive determination of community belonging and that there are numerous examples of non-native people who were adopted into Indigenous nations as full members of society and that the only reason Nativeness is racially determined today is because the US and Canadian governments literally mandated dog pedigrees to try to breed us into nonexistence shit I said STOP LISTENING
Two Israeli groups set up training courses in Wikipedia editing with aims to 'show the other side' over borders and culture

“Your government won’t last that long” - smiling Võ Thi Thang says to US-backed regime judge in response to 20 year prison sentence
"gender is a social construct": fairly easy for leftists to understand
"race is a social construct": a bit harder to swallow for some but still reasonable
"mental illness is a social construct": this one gets you hate mail in your inbox
i think a lot of poeple think of racism and sexism as something you have to actively opt in to perpetuate rather than something you have to continuously actively opt out of if you want to maybe help dismantle it
how come i never saw this awesome image before

The stakeholders expressed concerns about the implications of “associating Ukrainian names with Nazis,” asserting it would justify Russia's military operation in Ukraine, The Globe and Mail reported, citing a LAC report.
these people are nearly all Banderites, lobbying to rehabilitate their Nazi grandpas and insist the Holodomor is a real thing. maaaajor L for our school system when Stephen Lecce caved and mandated teaching the so-called Holodomor in schools. actively teaching Nazi propaganda? not unexpected in bourgeois education, but hot damn.
(^ link to that)
Beginning in September 2025, the new learning will outline how the Holodomor, also known as the Great Ukrainian Famine, was a result of totalitarian policies of the Communist Soviet Union leading to a man-made famine in Ukraine that killed millions of Ukrainians between 1932 to 1933.
people who believe in the so-called "Holodomor" need to read "Fraud, Famine, and Fascism" by Douglas Tottle right now.
people get mad about ai in video games meanwhile your average AAA game was built upon the backs of underpaid, overseas labor. you only care about labor violations if there's a threat to a cushy job at a major gaming studio, and not when people overseas are paid dirt to make the shit you love.
frankly this goes for any major industry. seeing people in animation talk about how they're so scared about ai and handwringing about that when that's another industry associated with outsourcing labour at horrible rates and hours truly makes me nauseous. grow a backbone and start giving a shit even when things don't directly affect you.
