The female character hierarchy:

“she’s aro/ace uwu” = fan favorite female character who’s not an immediate threat to the popular m/m ship

“she’s a strong independent woman who doesn’t need a man!” = main heroine who clearly has chemistry with main hero, or any WoC

“I don’t hate her, but…” = impending threat to popular m/m ship, erased from the story/written out in fanworks

“She lied to this male character once, that means she’s abusive!!” = canon love interest, immediate threat to the popular m/m ship, gets all her hate tagged

I wanna add this reply because OP is right. I’m aroace myself and I loathe when people only headcanon characters as aroace to “get them out of the way” of a ship.

You see this a lot among self shippers, as well as people's abuse of lesbianism i.e. "every attractive female character in this show is obviously lesbian so i can have this guy to myself while scoring easy lgbtqia brownie points"

I’m so disappointed. I was so looking forward to today waiting for some good BNHA content to drop. Instead:

Volume 32 - there is nothing about Shouto or anyone in Class A in the volume extras. Not even a glimpse of what they’ve been doing in the meantime or a single illustration Instead, countless Nagant and Fox waifu. 

Light Novel 6 - there is barely any Shouto, no Todoroki-focused chapter and he’s done so so dirty. Like the author didn’t put any effort into even trying to go beyond the most superficial tropes. He had so much stuff going on during the internship arc, so many new things, and he was learning flashfire and flight. Yet, his characterization is still “clueless”, “not like Earlyroki”, “prince x2 - seriously, what kind of low-effort shit is this even Iida got something funnier”?, “cares about Midoriya, nobody cares about him”.  Can we move on? Can we add layers? Can we enrich his relationships?

TUM 14 - I guess Sero cosplaying Shouto is cute, but he gets one little panel to cosplay Tokoyami again, after we already had the same on sketch and a much better version. Something a bit more imaginative would be too much?

The only good thing that we got is this sketch. This is pretty miserable for one of the “main characters”. 

Plus not to mention that the hyped 3rd movie, yet again fails to give Shouto focus, despite the shitty misleading advertisement. 

I just want this manga to end. I am so tired of hoping for good content and being let down on a continuous basis. There is too much sunk cost to give it up now, but it makes me feel crap and anxious a lot more lately than happy. I just want to be free from it.
