Prose/ poetry prompt #2
Sup nerds, of the literary variety :P I thought it would be a fun idea to create some prompts for anyone interested, as I find writing to prompts really helpful to get the ideas going. Additionally I’d really love to read all your works, so if you tag your post with #etchingprompts I will re-blog them. You can write poetry, prose, a scene or excerpt, a script, do some art, heck- write some music. Just really excited to see what people can come up with!

October 2018 prompts
Write a short story, poem or anything that inspires you based on one of these prompts and tag it with #inkstay. Make it clear somewhere in the post that it is written for one of the inkstay October prompts (also mention specifically which prompt you’re writing for) and post it before the 25th if you want your work to appear in the magazine.

The Prompts
Here is a list of the #abstractprompts that have been run so far. I won’t let it get too long, over time, i’ll retire and replace prompts that are no longer active.
If is isn’t obvious, please name which prompt has inspired your writing. All are welcome to contribute anytime, for any prompt.
There will be a new prompt added every weekend, and possibly one mid-week as well.
I love words, their meanings, and the innumerable ways of expressing them. With every thought leading into a verse, a poem, or an insight. My world expands. It is through vocabulary, that that I begin not only to understand myself, but develop my capacity to express it.
Making these words available for others, has proved a huge benefit. It inspires me in a new way, a shared way, and I am grateful to everyone that participates.

I am posting all six prompts right here, right now. These are previously used prompts. Each prompt will be categorized by X, Y, and Z with the difficulty attached. Moderate prompts do not have banned words. Advanced prompts do. Here are the six prompts:

Prompt X, Moderate: “Count your breaths, still your heart.” No banned words.
Prompt X, Advanced: “What demons cause a man to stare at his ceiling in passive antagony?” Banned Words: Thoughts, Hell, Self.

Prompt Y, Moderate: “Can you trust your neighbor?” No banned words.
Prompt Y, Advanced: “There’s a monster roaming these streets. Keep faith and a switchblade tucked beneath your coat.” Banned Words: People, Murder, Evil.

The riddle clue: “Brush up on your literary terms and vocabulary, as all three prompts represent the most important literary concept.”
The deadline was extended one extra week to give everyone a chance to get their poetry done and their guesses in. If you guess the riddle correctly first, you will be AtlasConsiderations’ first Poet Crush. Which will entail having a favorite poem featured on the blog every day, a short interview, and an artist/poetry review by me.
Title your work with just X, Y, Z, X+, Y+, or Z+ (whatever is appropriate). Tag it with Atlasconsidersprompt. Add an @atlasconsiderations at the end of your piece.
Message me if you don’t see your work reblogged within 6 to 12 hours. I’m putting these prompts/submissions on priority.
