GIFF Day 4: Hano! A Century in the Bleachers I started the morning with a documentary about one of the most prolific and diverse sports writer most of my generation has probably never heard of. Director Jon Leonoudakis told a story too big for the big screen with the life of Arnold Hano. And this was the biggest challenge the doc faced, too much story to tell. As a result the story often feels all over the place and jumpy, but the stories it does tell, it tells very well. For someone who isn't a big baseball fan, the documentary really brings Hano's writing and passion to life and had me wishing I was at a baseball game today. The segues between stories were a little cheesy and gave the film the feel of educational television programming which might be a good outlet for this story because Leonoudakis did a great job of giving you a taste and leaving you wanting more and hoping he can expand on every aspect he touched upon. I wish Hano's wife Bonnie had been more central to the story because I think there social activism and relationship is the most exciting thread to follow. The film served as a great overview of an enormous life and enticed me into doing more reading and research.

Day Three of GIF: Havana Motor Club and Interior

One of the great things about film festivals is being able to meet the directors and talent who put so much effort and passion into these films. Yesterday I went over to the theater with every intention of seeing “Bear With Us” a comedy about a proposal going awry when a bear shows up and went so far as getting a ticket to this screening. Well there was a bit of a mix up with the theaters and I didn’t realize I was in the wrong theater until the director started speaking about underground drag racing in Cuba, but I figured it was too late and I should stick it out. I now believe this had to be serendipitous, because I absolutely loved Havana Motor Club. It was heartfelt, passionate, and funny.

The film follows four racers as they struggle to bring this sport to the mainstream with the first legal race under the revolution government. It was filled with big beautiful shots of the streets and cities of Cuba and the classic cars that fill them. It got a lot of big laughs from the crowd but also had a more serious subtext with one of the racers trying over and over again to raft off the island and make it to the United States. The doc really connects you with these people and has your rooting for them and I was on the edge of my seat for the final race between the Chevrolet and Porsche which had some parallels to the battle between socialism and capitalism, but only on the most peripheral level. It was mostly an exciting rivalry between fellow racers striving for the same goal of legitimacy. A must see doc that is now available on ITunes and screening next week in Miami, New York, and LA. The second movie I saw was called Interior and was a new take on the found footage paranormal horror genre. A definite descendant of Paranormal Activity with heavy influences from Kubrick’s Space Odyssey, the film had some new takes, but followed a lot of the same tropes. The camera angles and lighting would have often lent itself to cheap scares, but the director didn’t settle for these and instead did a slow build and all of the terror felt organic and well earned. It was Excellently scored which is so necessary for this genre. The whole movie served as and ambition allegory for Schrödinger’s cat experiment that, despite a quick YouTube science lesson half way through, requires you to put a lot of the pieces together on your own. The biggest mistake I feel this movie made that a lot of its predecessors have not was showing us the apparition doing the haunting which was inevitably a little cheesy. Despite this, I think it was a genuinely scary and ambitious film and I am excited to see where this director goes next.

GIFF Day Two: The Adderall Diaries

Day two saw GIFF shift over to Ybor City and as much as I love the historic Tampa Theater, the Muvico seats are so much more comfortable and spacious. But that was pretty much where my enjoyment ended. The Adderall Diaries was the only movie I was able to screen on day two and I cannot say that I would recommend it. Other than the style and subject matter not really being my cup of tea, my biggest issue with this movie is I’m pretty sure James Franco doesn’t know what real emotions look like. This whole movie revolves around a very emotional role that Franco can’t really sell and the movie falls flat because of it. But he is far from my only complaint about this film. It often feels rambling and pointless with dozens of flashbacks that serve the movies point, but hurt its flow. The point the movie tries to make, about how we recall memories and self victimization, is made pretty well, but at the detriment of the entertainment value of the movie. Its dirty and cringe-worthy in attempts to be real and profound at the same time and the result is a movie and images I rather not see. And for a rather short movie, it feels so long. Maybe pass on this one, unless you are as masochistic as Franco’s character.

GIFF Day One: Eye In The Sky

 Yesterday marked the opening day of the 10th annual Gasparilla Film Festival and they decided to start off with a bang. This movie is Gavin Hood’s return to the indie side of film making after a foray into the big studio films and it proves that this is where he belongs, completely in control. The movie is about a British led coalition mission to capture British and United States citizens who have join Al Shabaab. The mission quickly goes awry and Mirren’s character is forced to call an audible and tough decisions must be made. The film really does well in grappling with these tough questions of morality in a post 9/11 world and how we are able to outsource our responsibility and culpability of actions through the use of drones and the chain of command. Decision makers throughout the film are constantly “referring up” to force the decision to their superiors and this plays well and mirrors the separation and callousness that the drones themselves create.This constant passing of the buck through out the film plays as an absurdist satire that is underlined well by Alan Rickman’s performance as the often humorous General who serves as the liaison between the political leaders and the soldiers. He is clearly frustrated and sarcastic about the others inability to take responsibility and do what he believes must be done, but the performance is never tongue-in-cheek and feels real and lived-in which pays off and allows him to deliver one of the most powerful lines in the film at the very end. Hood does a great job of crafting a film that portrays every character as relatable, but you don’t really side with any of them. Even the one character who seems to have the moral high ground, Monica Dolan’s member of parliament, reveals that her motivations are strictly political when she is more concerned over winning the propaganda war than saving lives. This film will have you questioning much of modern warfare and life and begs to be discussed afterward.

 For an indie film he really managed to bring together an all star cast that brings the whole thing together. it is very much a moment in time and situation driven film that doesn’t have time to be slowed down anymore than it already is with character development and Hood was able to assemble many recognizable actors that bring a lot background to the audience without narrative. Helen Mirren was the boldest and most rewarding choice and she played in brilliantly. Hood was in attendance and in the Q&A following the screening mentioned that her part was written for a man and I think the switch was his most rewarding choice, because it definitely would not have watched the same. 

Hood kicked off the movie with some opening remarks in which he called it a thriller. I believe this was a mistake and that this movie won’t see nearly the success it should if it is marketed as a thriller. Don’t get me wrong, it is definitely a thrilling film, but I think it is much too satirical and almost farcical and could leave genre fans let down. It takes a while to really hit its stride and is paced a little too slow to really be a thriller, but the pacing really emphasizes the satire and works well in the context. Towards the end of the film the timing really picks up and I was on the edge of my seat and caught myself holding my breath waiting to see how it all played out. Definitely a movie that is worth your time and with a nationwide release tomorrow it shouldn’t be hard to find at all. 8/10

So I decided to just put on a movie to help me fall asleep. You know something kind of cheesy, not intense, just background noise. So this gem looked like a winner, but was I wrong. 3 minutes into this movie, I realized I would have to watch the whole thing and definitely share it with someone. It is painfully bad. I mean in the most enjoyable way possible. It’s basically about a secret society of warrior archeologists who protect artifacts of ancient lore. It’s also probably the third most expensive walmart commercial. First off, why doesn’t anybody in this world use crossbows? Has no one heard of guns? The acting is spectacularly bad, like intentionally bad. Oh and the parents clues are enigmatic and quizzical. “Doesn’t this rug look like a bunch of X’s and O’s? That’s probably what they meant by xoxo!” It’s absolutely amazing to me that they got this many people to go along with this bad of an idea, did Hitler direct this film? Maybe Goebbels. But beyond the directing, the writing is the true star of this film. My personal favorite is the sacred Hunters oath: “Find and protect. Never use.” That’s deep, even for an ancient secret society… Also excellent villainry. The quality of set design is best summed up in the secret passage ways of the Flynn family home and a rock climbing/binocular scene. I stand corrected, 5th most expensive walmart commercial. I’m actually still not convinced this isn’t a soft core porno. Side note: Walmart should start making soft core porno. Walton boys, you’re welcome. I’d be so pissed if my Hunter family was know for backup and support, so lame. This poor mans Hayden Panettiere does pretty well, all jokes aside. Mostly. A wannabe family Indian Jones that even includes an I hate snakes and giant boulder homage, I waited the whole movie for the asian bad girl to say hold on to your potatoes. Subtlety is not something this film has mastered, especially when it comes to foreshadowing i.e. Perseus’ shield. Thank goodness they set up for the sequel, looking forward to The Hunters 2: Huntin ain’t Easy. Perfect for a session of the burn unit or if you are a big soft core porno fan, but hate all the implied penetration. But not much beyond that 2/10

Not to sound like an elitist, but I had pretty much made up my mind that I wasn't going to see this movie or rather not see it in theaters. This wasn't because I thought I was above it or anything, but more I didn't want to be that guy sitting in the matinee showing to TMNT by myself. But, in fact, I'm doing that very thing right this moment. And I owe that pleasure to Kumail Nanjiani for convincing me to go see it while listening to Doug loves movies today at work. Plus I always find I enjoy movies more when I enter with low expectations. It's obviously easier for them to blow me away. Here's hoping. And the previews start in stunning DLP technology. Only Disney could get away with this Cinderella trailer and still have girls freak out over it. They are really making a big deal of this ghostbusters re-release only being in theaters for one week, like I'm never going to be able to see it again. Still have no idea what into the woods is about, but more perplexing is how James Gorden got third billing. Only three trailers? I feel kind of ripped off. But we're started and I'm a fan of comic book movies that have comic book openings. Ooh pleasant Will Arnett siting. But really Megan? That upset about your 4 years of school? Get over yourself. I'm really impressed the foot clan finally has guns, makes way more sense. And all of a sudden WHOOPI! I'm going to go out on a limb and guess Eric sacks isn't a good guy. So where are the giant turtles? Megan fox also really needs to learn to shut off her camera sounds on her phone. The turtles teeth really freak me out. Not a huge fan of this imagining of splinter. I also am not sure that is how adrenaline works, like at all. The fight/travel scenes are pretty remarkable and the comedic relief is surprisingly funny. But, yes there has to be a but, that's about it. There is almost no plot development and when there is it is pretty absurd. I know what you are thinking, the movie about the talking karate turtles is absurd? But yes even taking the premise into account, this is absurd and inconsistent even for a TMNT movie. The evil master plan and motivation just don't really make sense and the ninja origin story is almost comical, if it was supposed to be. I try not to judge reboots in comparison to the original story, but I don't really like the shredder that much. And the soundtrack wasn't nearly as good as the cartoon movie. But, another but, it was a pretty fun movie to watch that was pretty novel, I loved raph's ending speech deal, and I think the sequel, which they totally set up for, has a lot of potential. And I really like that the turtles are down with sustainability. 5/10

Wasn’t really looking forward to seeing this one, I never read the book so it seemed a little out there, but it fit my work schedule and now I’m into it. So far the trailers are good. Men, women, and children looks fascinating and unbroken looks obviously inspiring. And maze runner is another one I haven’t read the book, but I’m absolutely intrigued by it. If I can see the movie before I breakdown and read the Wikipedia article, it should be a good mystery. St. Vincent Looks twistedly heart warming despite my general disdain for Melissa McCarthy. Alright now the feature is actually starting. A quite onscreen synopsis brings you up to speed on yet another dystopic future. My use of dystopia may be inaccurate because it seems rather pleasant and even an appealing option for the future. But the use of black and white film and the confusion of our protagonist make it clear there is something missing. Rules govern everything, but unfortunately no Jeff Bridges weird voice. And thank god for the rules, because the giver/receiver would be endless. When selected as the receiver of memories, our protagonist is allowed some wiggle room with the rules. Memories are revealed not as grandiose systems or ideas, but as personal anecdotes and instances. And the understanding comes slowly just the colors come in stages. But the constant fear and reminder of what enigmatically happened 10 years ago hangs over the excitement. It seems like a recipe for disaster. The mentor-protege relationship that develops between the Jeff bridges and our protagonist, Jonas, is so vivid, it stirs fond memories for anyone that has had such a relationship. The movie moves along very quickly from here intermingle images of the real world with those if the movie and creating in you the emotions the receiver is feeling for the first time. The argument seems pretty one sided until Meryl Streep’s big speech brings logic to the table. Despite some slight plot holes and some pretty far fetched occurrences, the movie leaves you feeling more human for living in the world we do and even guiltily asking yourself, would it be worth it? It wasn't my favorite movie, but As cheesy as it sounds, I really like the way it made me feel and isn't that what movies should do? 8/10

Found this gem under the enigmatic category of "Dramas" and was pretty sold on the idea of this frenemies combo and was surprised I had never heard of this. So the deal is a law student teams up with club owner is some sort of gambling endeavor and wind up owing some people some money and they need to get it quickly. Matt Damon voice overs of cool poker lines and a John Malkovich spotting almost immediately and I'm invested, but wary of cheesiness. Which are quickly dashed by that opening scene. These table scenes draw you in and the warm smoky colors of 90s film remind me of home. The foundation for this boyhood friendship seems like it's going to be a very complex one with possible resentment. The overbearing girlfriend is a bit melodramatic, he doesn't appear to be a dangerous gambling addict, but I guess she knows more than me. The gritty Edward Norton plays so well against the deceptively clean cut Matt Damon. And if you are a voice over montage fan, this movie is definitely for you. But for real, holy montage. The fight scene is a bit far fetched. But John Malkovich can play any villain anytime, even though the accent is a bit much. The movie slows down the world of high speed high stakes poker and makes it a more intimate affair. It is about the people and going head to head in a mind game more than anything of chance. All in all, a little formulaic, but none the less inspiring and definitely interesting. Let your 12 year old son watch this and you'll have a poker player in no time. 6/10

What immediately drove me to select this movie, listed under "Independent Movies," was the all-star cast of minor television celebrities. Namely Jean-Ralphio, Dwight Schrute, And Dexter. How could that be bad, especially when you round out the cast with Lewis Black and Sarah Silverman? The story revolves around a family reunion for the patriarch's 70th birthday. Normal enough. But the conflict arises from one of the siblings recently writing a novel with all too familiar characters. Let's find out how it plays out. Alright Lewis Black is the narrator and he is already referring to children as sins. I'm excited. And Jean-Ralphio is the author. And also appears to be dating the sexy young journalist from House of Cards. Not entirely believable, unless that author has some serious clout, I heard she loves power. Sarah Silverman is starring as Sarah Silverman. Great opening credits. I like Dexter as the architect because I always thought he would make a great Howard Roark if they decided to make a new Fountainhead movie (But seeing how well Atlas Shrugged did...), but it's also incredibly hard to picture him as anything but Dexter. You can't unsee that character. And rounding off the cast, we have Dwight Schrute as the screw up black sheep. I'm genuinely excited. This cast could really make this story pop. Oh and sexy young thing is assistant, not lover, makes more sense. The movie seems to hurdle toward the birthday dinner as lives are falling apart and the chips start to show in the paint of the American nuclear family. Along the way, every actor you see has been in that one other thing. Which I love. You begin to see that every person and every relationship has their flaws. Especially when we discuss where the title came from and the dark secret our prolific story teller hasAnd by the end of the movie you are grateful for your own. As dinner begins, it seems the family is going to fall apart, until the almost godly patriarch arrives. The comedy breaks down in to bickering and you find yourself relating at first with the family which quickly turns to relating with the awkward dinner guests. With a run time of only 79 minutes the movie moves along quickly but smoothly and despite the somewhat cutesy-cliche ending, you find yourself touched by this family with even the slightest pangs of nostalgia. As I predicted, worth the watch if for nothing other the expansive cast for the short run time. 7/10

IASIP Season 1 Episode 2 Power Rankings: With abortion as the topic of this episode, it appears they are trying to address all the big issues in America in the first season. Not a very positive episode for any character really, move the least loser. 1. Dee(Last week: 2): An improvement from last week when the moral high ground actually pays off for Dee. But again, she didn't do much, but just simply lost the least. 2. Mac(Last Week: 1): Falling slightly from last week, Mac wound up losing his new lady friend at the episode after a pretty obvious trap on her part. Despite falling for her ploy hook line and sinker, Mac winds up in second place because he got exactly wanted he wanted out of her with little to no effort. 3: Charlie(Last week: 3): Holding firm at number 3 despite a rough week. Charlie not only was tricked into thinking he had a son, but also let's the kid get drunk and is obviously caught in the act by the waitress. 4: Dennis(Last week: 4): Not being able to escape this slump, Dennis falls further and further back. Although He made his lack of convictions widely known, little can be salvaged after being publicly egged by both sides of an abortion rally. With Dee clinching the first female win, the only question that comes to mind is how much power with this new power couple really get their hands on?

IASIP Season 1 episode 1 Power rankings: With the most absolutely perfect and uncomfortable opening scene for any series, the competition between the most narcissistic group of people begins by dealing with the very hot button issue in America right now: race. 1.Mac: Despite using this premiere to prove without a doubt that he is the least tactful character on the show, Mac reigns supreme over episode one. By playing Dennis like a puppet with his "experiment" ploy and get exactly what he wants by the end of the episode, Mac makes everyone look like his bitch. 2. Dee: Now Dee was a close second to Mac because of her role as mastermind of the plan to get the bar back to normal, but she falls short because of her inability to vote on bar issues. 3. Charlie: Although Charlie's skills with their new diverse friends easily show Mac up, his need to please the waitress hurts him severely 4. Dennis: Easily securing his place at last on these rankings, Dennis' downfall comes when he is easily had Mac's ridiculous tequila scheme and is immortalized in the last scene of the episodes. An inauspicious for someone who will prove to be one the most power hungry characters of the show, Dennis' weakness does not appear to be indicative of the coming episodes

<p>Was driving past a theater today and decided to pull in a catch a flick. Bought a ticket for the first movie and sin city it was. So far I’m the only person in the theater, movie starts in 5, good sign. Before I go to sleep movie trailer looks crazy. But I hate all these scary movie trailers, not a good sign. Beyond excited for kill the messenger. Jeremy Renner got a big boy lead. Hobbit 4: Dracula, killer. This James Franco-Seth Rogen do whatever the fuck we want thing is getting ridiculous. And I still have no idea what into the woods is about. The Hateful Eight is obviously intriguing especial with 70mm. Ok lights are dimming and movie starting. Giving frat boys a good name. What, j-pive, was he in the first? If not, great addition. What happened to Jessica alba? Is this her comeback? Also this is the same who starred in 500 days of summer, I bet he loves how hard this franchise makes him feel. This truly is an all star cast on the brink of madness. Ooh dame to kill for appearance. I’m just about ready to switch to nationwide insurance. Never mind. Oh my god Elliot Stabler Jeremy Piven detective duo. I love it. The violent aesthetic and sensory immersion are all you expect from a frank miller movie and more. And how can you not love a movie with a surprise doc brown cameo. It draws you into these lives on the fringe and begs you to dive back into the original. Oh and is that Lady Gaga? This redemption through violence story leads to some pretty badass fights scenes and a mild feeling of emptiness. Definitely a worth while see. 7/10

Just about the only thing that attracted me to this movie was Chile, its setting. Well that and the hallucinogenic drugs. These type of movies (read Michael Cera indie movies) tend to put me off, but for posterity's sake, Im going for it. So here it is: Crystal Fairy and the Magical Cactus.

Subtitle: And 2012. Forgot they were in Chile, that explains the spanish. Cera is as pretentious as ever. the word Crystal looks misspelled when written in lowercase. crystal. Cera has already done 2 drugs and is introspectively staring at The Garden of Earthly Delights while pooping. But it won't Flush, the tragedy. Oh. He keeps quoting this book. Have you heard of it? Doors of perception? Everyone in the movie seems to think Cera sucks. He seems obviously out of place in the Chile house party scene but a little too oblivious of the fact. Its an attempt at making us empathize with outcast Cera. And its working. After an awkward encounter with Drag Queens, the adventure for the hallucinogenic cactus begins. With his clearly put off Chilean friends. This doesn't seem like a good environment for a trip. The shots are long and silent to make you feel as uncomfortable as the Chileans. Oh and the dancing girl they met and the party is invited/tags along for the trip. She goes by Crystal Fairy. Eh? See the title coming together. She seems to be as out of place as Cera after an interaction where she tries to pay with fairy money goes bad. A match made in heaven. Except Cera is already trying to get rid of her. The frustration of the Cera's companions by his hypocrisy is well played, but I didn't expect full frontal so quickly. The need to be on the inside makes you immediately want to be friends will the three other companions. The locals don't seem to like the fact that their region has become famous for magic cactus. Also is it really a cactus, if it doesn't have have spines? The movie kind of drags on until the trip with the main star being the landscape and beauty of Chile.Once the trip starts, the cinematography starts to turn the movie around for me. But the ending is very odd and has left me completely speechless. 4/10

So after almost an hour of searching Netflix for the perfect film to watch and comment on and learning the "understated" is code for hipster, I have decided upon

                                Plus One (2013). I'm having trouble fulling grasping the concept from the Netflix synopsis, but that only makes me even more intrigued. From what I understand there is in fact a party taking place and three buddies go but also run into themselves and something about time travel, I don't know, Lets find out. IFC films, I mean, obviously. 1:56 in I have to pause, I'm kind of lost and forgot my water and  snacks. Alright we're back in this. Fencing, super hipster. Super awkward gym scene, I dont like this couple, I'm pretty sure that's the guy from the purge. Definitely Purge kid, not about it. Oh man, and he makes out with the girl that just whooped his girlfriends ass in fencing. He obviously gets caught. But new girl was hotter.  Who smiles like that, Purge is weirding me out. Oh my god, is that little Matthew Mchonaughey? It totally is, I'm back, I love Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. What? A Meteor? I didnt see this coming. Oh Shit, I think there was like a pause in time. A hiccup if I may. Alright, alright, alright, there's a gay indian too. Now there is a drug dealer knocking people out? This is escalating quickly. Eye shots, now this is a party. And a body buffet? Shits classy. Uh oh, shes here with an older guy who has great lips. Matthew Mchonaughey is not living up to his potential.  There would be way more people at the party. Someones groping the body buffet. Never mind, Mchonaughey is making his name sake proud. I think this meteor is making everyone think they are on acid. The older guy totally has great lips, That girl was right. Of course the flaming tennis ball fire led to an impromptu fire sprinkler dance party haha. Oh! Naked girl waiting for Mchonaughey. The lights! The lights are making the doubles, I think. Gross Indian shots. Absolutely hilarious sex scene. This party is extravagant, but I think they ran out of IFC budget before they got to extras. No one is here. They real issue is his fear of change, oh, she "didnt know what I ever saw in you"d him. Where did all these candles come from? They are discovering the doubles. DOUBLE DOWN! And Mchonaughey is gonna have a threesome. Our three protagonists are on to the doubles. This group is fairly paranoid. I feel like I would assume that my double was as confused as I was, not that they are trying to kill me. Maybe I'm not paranoid enough. This movie is making me ask myself a lot of questions about time. This movie is made up of a lot of eye catching events so you can see them a second time and remember, but the story suffers as a result. I dont know if I mentioned this yet, but there could be more extras. It takes to long for the people to figure whats going on, it drags on. And Purge is starting to act as creepy as he looks. They all need to learn how to wave, weirdos. Its a novel way to talk about fear and understanding of the other, but it gets dark real quick. Oh man, does it take a dark turn. There is mild easing into it but then all of a sudden it go crazy. An entertaining watch that was definitely less predictable than I thought. But it tends to glorify the loaner and the Purge guy nailed the creepy role, but I thought it could have been a better character. But it could also be about an acid trip 5/10

  For my first Netflix review, I will be watching Rapture-Palooza. It appears to be about the end of the world where the Anti-Christ is in love with the protagonist’s girlfriend. And yes, Craig Robinson is the Anti-Christ. I cant wait.I press play and immediately get very excited. Kevin Marino, with a lot of aging makeup on, is a televangelist performing a sermon. This movie is going to be great. Except I soon after realize it is totally not Kevin Marino. Still skeptical. Movie is narrated by Anna Kendrick. Still skeptical. Really, Sam Weir? Shouldnt he be waiting tables at a Shenanigans somewhere? You can do better Anna. The last place I would ever want to be during the rapture would be a bowling alley. How depressing and loud. I am digging this opening song, have to pause and look it up. Too hard to find, will get back to you later. Yeah, blood rain, exactly why I wouldnt want to be in Seattle, it rains all the time. I think this guy is lawn mowing hell. John Michael Higgins is really upset about Orlando, laughs ensue. The modern twists on biblical references are fantastic. Cursing crows, case in point. You can sell your soul to the Anti-Christ to get on the payroll. Yeah I probably would. God’s just being petty now. After, in a tragic twist of fate, the food cart the young couple was saving for  is destroyed. They must now get a job with the Anti Christ. Upon a chance meeting, The Beast, the Anti-Christ’s moniker, falls in love with Ms. Hendricks. At first impression, Craig Robinson is way less smooth than his character should be. He is a convincing Former Mayor, but a lackluster Anti-Christ. Also I don’t think its possible to have Craig Robinson in a movie without putting him on the piano. Hendricks plays an excellent sarcastic bugs bunny type captive to the oblivious and crass Robinson. There are scenes of divine inspiration like distraction of the wraiths set up by the younger brother and his friend. Or the Im a sexy beast dance performed by Robinson. The young couple play well together with their plotting and scheming and Weir almost convinces you he is no longer a geek. Almost. This movies always get way more biblical than I ever imagine. I should be catching on by now, but this movie did it in a much darker, but funny way. Plus Hendricks in that white dress. All in all, Too many Shovels. 6/10
