I dont consider myself a proshipper but since i'm also anti censorship and anti harrasment that led me to create the blog, i agree freedom speech is a right everyone deserves.

I hate how proshippers act like they’re the most anti-censorship group, the ONLY online group fighting against censorship, when in reality they only care about it when it affects them. I’ve seen plenty proshippers scream about NSFW games focused on rape (most of which made by people with actual sexual assault charges) are completely innocent and how unfair it is that they’ve gotten banned off websites (even when the games break the TOS of those sites), meanwhile I’ve seen 0 talk about the actual government censorship going on in many countries. Like, my country had a government-funded murder of gay people less than a decade ago which we STILL do not know the full affect of (estimations range from 7 victims to 100+) because the government censored it so harshly. I think that is a slightly larger issue than “B-B-But my fanfic that broke Tumblr’s TOS was taken down from Tumblr!!!! How could they do that?!?!”

one time someone posted a sexually explicit photo manip of two characters in a live-action tv show. the characters were teenagers, but because the actors were over 18, the poster said "it's just art, don't report me you puritans!"

yeah so, after a little bit of research, i found out that the scene they had edited to turn into porn was filmed when the actors were UNDER 18.

they posted literal child porn to ao3 and nobody reported it for WEEKS because they didn't see anything wrong with it.

thankfully once i finally reported, it was taken down a few days later. but still. that was fucking insane.

I made an anon confession on an anti blog a while ago talking about a youtuber I like not wanting shipcourse accounts interacting with their stuff(both antishipper and proshipper) and I just wanted to say I’m sorry for leaving out their reasoning for this. It did make them look bad and I am deeply sorry for it. They mentioned being a victim that was hurt by the shipcourse community which was why they didn’t want anyone from either side interacting with them. I realize now that my confession was extremely victim-blamey

I want to clarify that I do not support victim blaming, doxxing, stalking or harassment and I especially don’t support pressuring people into feeling like they have to interact with those that do support it. I think this youtuber was very valid with not wanting to interact with either side of the shipcourse after seeing what has been happening recently. I feel terrible for spreading that kind of rhetoric, I’m sorry

Other anti blogs are getting way too comfortable with just straight up victim blaming

Like it gets to a certain point where I’m starting to feel like SOME antis don’t actually care about stopping the root cause of proshipping, they just want an excuse to attack people and be nasty to others

Also the weird bullying that some antis do when people don’t feel comfortable associating with them is extremely strange. Like a ytber I like recently made an announcement stating that she doesn’t want shipcourse people interacting with her work because she’s both a victim of grooming from proshippers, and she was also literally doxxed by antishippers. I think that is a very valid reason to not want either of those communities to interact with you but some antis were talking about how her boundaries were “questionable” like ???? God forbid someone doesn’t want a community that DOXXED them to interact?????

I’m just gonna be strictly against proshipping now, but I will not associate with antishippers anymore, I have almost every anti blog blocked because I’m starting to realize that none of these people actually care about proshipping😭I get that not all antis are toxic people but theres just too much toxicity that I can’t ignore anymore, it’s really getting worse

i hate the whole “proship antiship” labels thing because i think it’s dumb and harassment of either sides is bad yadda yadda whatever the hell, but it makes me so fucking mad when proshippers try and change people’s minds about proship by using some bullshit explanation like “if you don’t like it you must support censorship.” no you daft fucking asshat it means i don’t like it and im allowed to have my own opinion. i had a brief interaction with someone who harassed me because i didn’t support fictional incest and it took everything in me not to dump the fact that I’m a real life fucking victim of incest and child sexual assault, do you think I’d advocate for that same thing to happen to other kids? fictional or not it grosses me out and i don’t have to like it, just leave it at that.
