So I threw a prompt at Adamjf Emotional Support Group: Max moved on with his life after Adam broke his heart at World's End.
I wasn't planning on writing it. My brain went lol, yes you are.

The silence was deafening as Max slowly walked towards his locker room. He ignored the looks of pity, shock, and delight from his fellow wrestlers. He shook his head at Renee when she stepped forward to interview him.
Max quietly closed the door behind him and collapsed on a bench, holding his head in his hands. He ignored the buzzing of his phone and the tentative knocks on the door.
He mechanically stripped off his ring gear and stepped into the shower and let the water and tears mingle freely together.
He started to get dressed and recoiled when he saw the shirt he was about to put on; Adam had bought it. Adam who had wormed his way into life and heart. Adam who said he loved him. Adam who betrayed him. Adam who shattered his heart in front of millions of fans.
Max balled it up and threw it in the garbage.
It was almost 2am when Max finally got back to his condo. Piper gave him a sleepy meow before going back to sleep. He went to his bedroom, paused at the doorway and looked at their bed. The bed where they had spent hours together, cuddling, making love, and making plans for their future. His stomach suddenly heaved and he barely made it to the bathroom in time.
Max ended up sleeping on the sofa with Piper purring in his ear.
Max spent New Year's Eve alone, eating Chinese food with Piper for company. The ring he had planned on giving Adam tonight sat on his dresser.
On January 1st, Max deleted his Twitter and Facebook account, deleted all the pictures of himself and Adam, and set his Instagram account to private. He sent a single email.
Tony Khan wasn't surprised when Max sent him an email resigning from the company. He wished Max good luck and he would alway be welcomed back if he ever decided to return to AEW.
By the end of the week, Max had sold his condo, donated all of Adam's clothing and the clothing that Adam had given him to charity. He had a new cell phone number and traded in his sports car for an suv. He had been tempted to throw Adam's ring into the Hudson River but sold it instead, and anonymously donated the money to a local cat shelter.
Max didn't look back when drove out of New York City with Piper at his side.
Part two
Max spent the next nine months driving around the USA and Canada. He grew his hair, dropped the designer clothes, cut back his gym routine and laughed when people thought they recognized him.
Life went on in the wrestling world. Matches were fought and titles were won and lost in a never ending cycle. Max occasionally checked out the highlights but made it a point never to watch Adam and his cronies.
Max was eating supper in a sports bar in Las Vegas off the strip. What it lacked in glitz it made up for the beer and the best chicken wings he had ever eaten. The bartender was easy on the eyes as well: green eyes with laugh lines, short brown hair and a mouth that was made for smiling. His name was Jack Hanson and he was teaching astronomy part time at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada. For the first time in nine months, Max felt something flutter in his stomach.
They went on their first date three weeks later at a dog park and Max met Jack's rescue dog, Hotrod.
On their second date, Max came clean about his personal history and after hearing the good, the bad and the ugly, Jack swore if ever met Adam, he would punch him in the mouth.
On their third date they shared a gentle kiss on a sunny afternoon in October while walking Hotrod and on their tenth date, they shared their first morning coffee together.
By the time January rolled around, Max officially moved in with Jack. Home was now a two bedroom condo in a quiet neighbourhood.
On March 20th, Jack stunned Max by asking him to marry him. With tears in his eyes, Max said yes.
They got married on a sunny afternoon in June. It was a small non-denominational ceremony attended by Jack's parents, his grandparents, his younger sister Jesse and her daughter Charlotte. Max didn't invite his family nor anyone from AEW.
“The most important thing for us to do is talk about AEW and work hard on AEW. We're focused on us, and trying our best to be the best. We have the best wrestlers. This year, we have the best TV shows. The best PPVs, and the best fans. AEW’s 2025 has been a success because everyone in AEW is focused on their efforts.”
