So You Want to Be a Quidditch Player: 10 Things Everyone Should Know Before Their First Quidditch Practice
1. Quidditch is an actual sport. Come prepared to exercise.
2. Be ready and willing to learn new things.
3. All skill sets are welcome- don’t get discouraged if you don’t know everything.
4. Yes, you will have to run with a broom between your legs. No, it’s not as hard as it looks.
5. It’s not necessarily a Harry Potter fan club. It’s for Potterheads and Non-Potterheads alike.
6. It is a full contact sport. There may be bruises. It’s normal.
7. Make sure to look around at the rest of your teammates. Chances are you will date, or at least hook up with, one of them.
8. Remember that quidditch is all gender and all sexuality inclusive. Refer to #2.
9. Respect yourself. Respect your teammates. Respect the sport.
10. Congratulations! You have now joined one of the coolest sports ever.
How do you Quidditch? Like do you just jump around with a broomstick between your legs and someone is dressed in all yellow and they’re the Snitch and everyone has to chase them around and the last person to burst into tears over being a muggle wins?
Yup that’s all we do.

If you’re interested in playing this weird, amazing game, and you’re from Providence, email us at [email protected], like us on Facebook, or come to practice at 3:30 on Fridays at India Point Park!
i find bad jokes funnier than funny jokes
Come down to India Point Park as the Providence Ashwinders compete with the Whomping Wellesleys and Clark University Quidditch! Games will be at the soccer fields at the end of the park near the Brown University Boathouse. Check back on this page for updates and watch @provashwinders on twitter for updates throughout game day! See you on the pitch!!!
"I came, I flew, I conquered"-Julius Caesar (probably)
Do you like quidditch, Latin, Julius Caesar, or supporting rad people?
If so you should get this poster!
There’s only 3 days left to buy it so get it now and share it around!!!
As a community team, the Providence Ashwinders (previously the India Point Ashwinders) do not have the support of a school to cover costs of travel to tournaments throughout the Northeast and regular Southern New England Quidditch Conference games. All proceeds from the posters will go to supporting the Providence Ashwinders in order to cover costs for this upcoming season.
We’d love your support. (Plus you get this totally awesome poster.)
