mr. jefferson - who has never ever told a lie and definitely didn’t flat-out state that he intended to frame nathan for chloe’s murder just a few minutes before - said so

that’s it. that’s literally it

evidence that nathan didn’t kill rachel:

seemed genuinely hopeful when he thought max was rachel, which is not the reaction one would have if someone they’d killed approached them in a diner

literally unconscious in the pic mr. jefferson had of him and rachel in rachel’s binder

if you’re giving someone an injection (allegedly how rachel died), you need to be extremely precise - someone with muscle spasm issues, especially someone under the influence, would have quite a bit of difficult wielding a needle

was never even hinted at knowing where rachel was

basically everything aside from what jefferson said

so yeah the game never says that he didn’t kill her, but i personally do not feel inclined to believe the word of a lying sociopath who definitely killed several people, and is still responsible for what happened to rachel, regardless of how she died. that’s just me, though.

remember in Chaos Theory, when Max puts Rachel’s clothes on. David calls it her ‘Rachel Amber costume’, Nathan sarcastically calls her ‘Max Amber’. it makes sense that Frank would specifically recognize those are Rachel’s clothes, but for the others, it should be just a regular flannel and jeans. everyone has those?

which means one thing: Rachel wore flannels so fucking much that she made it her iconic Signature Outfit, recognizable miles away all around Arcadia Bay. no one in Arcadia is allowed to wear flannels anymore because Rachel Wore It Best™ .

And there is never gonna be a heterosexual explanation for this.
