I've been thinking about the tadc theories I've posted, and in atleasth one I've said that pomni was the only one in an abandoned building when she joined, but that's kinda false, and if this is right, my theories from before are completely false.
Because ragatha was calling out to people she was with, so either she also had a scenario implanted, like I said in my other theory, to make the illusion she isnt actualy in a hospital or something, but she doesnt seem to have liked the scenario. With pomni, she liked exploring abandoned buildings, but ragatha doesnt seem to. She doesnt like centipedes, and abandoned buildings are crawling with bugs, so why woud she go into one? Of course, if c&a was really abandone, it wouldn't have been for nearly as long as for pomni, but there woud still be bugs.
And since she's calling out to people, she seems tk have been with a group of friends or atleasth people she knows.
So what if c&a shut the project down after caines AI caused faulty results, aka abstraction, and their attempt to fix it with another ai(abel) went wrong, because caine consumed the code and/or modified/destroyed it.
They didnt know a way out for the subjects, so they simply abandoned the project as a whole, the lat thing c&a coud do, was cut off caines research, wich explains why the pictures of the office look so old, because they are, caines curiosity was cut off either '99 or 2000, when c&a shut it down. They just left everything, because caines programming riddled everything.
Though thaz brings me back to the theory where the characters we know arent humans but copies to keep themselfes alive. Scratch had a tumor, and he was obviously smart if he ahd connections in c&a strong enough to start an entire programm because of him. The programm was made to keep his ideas alive, not his body. But caines programm failed at that.
It's why kinger coud survive so long in the circus. He joined 1999, and as far as we know, its canonically 2026(i think) meaning he'd have to have stayed alive for 27 years with only a headset. Of course his body could've been preserved properly to keep him alive, but the others didnt have that. Ragagha joined i think 10 years later, and she only put on a headset, wich means she has already survived 17 years witj only a headset.
Not to mention, kinger is an awesome programmery and queenie may have been big in c&a aswell, why woud they put their programmers in a prgramm? Unless they also had conditions, like scratch. But where do you find enough people willing to participate, outside of the three weren't know had connections to c&a? Simple, you dont have to, because you're just copying their consciousness. With how advanced c&a's technology seems to be, it woudnt be too difficult. They created caine, and a place for caine to create the circus, and a place to store human consciousness's, and most likley far before '99, since things take time to develop.
So what if they all did take their headsets off, wondering why nothing happend.
What if kinger and queenie are happily living, have kids? What if pomni posted the video of her exploring c&a, and talks about the odd headsets that dont function, but have a system running called 'project caine'.
What if gangle is still working at a fast food joint.
What if zooble is still trying to find themselfes, switching jobs in search of their identity.
What if jax is struggling with whatever trauma he seems to have.
What if scratch died due to cancer, knowing his plan failed.
The cast is still human, but not as close to it as they thought.
