BEST DAY EVER ☀️🌸❤️🦋
based on this
My prediction for the next Benoit Blanc film is that after Marta (accused of a murder, scared but works with Blanc), Helen (pretends to be a murdered person to work with Blanc), and Jud (accused of a murder, keeps trying to confess to it and has to be stopped by Blanc), the next in line is going to be someone who has not committed a murder, but really wants to do so and Blanc has to continuously talk them out of it while also trying to find a different murderer.
I can hear it now,
Watson #4, absolutely losing it: Everyone already decided I’m guilty, and all of my problems could be solved by just becoming the person everyone tells me I am! Don’t you see? I can fix this! I just have to kill him!
A very frazzled and exhausted Blanc: Ah don’t knohw how tuh tell you this buht… no. Do nawt do that.
perhaps a cowboy Marty? 🙏🙏
of course! this was so fun to do :3 i haven’t done a proper study in a bit so this was good to draw
i don’t think i’ll ever be able to get over how ethereally beautiful he is in part 3
The difference is that jealous Ilya looks homicidal while jealous Shane looks suicidal
"jud wouldn't lie about breaking his vow of chastity when he openly admits to killing a man so how would that work with him setting an example?" the guy who said "the jewel was never found but your true inheritance is in christ"? you're right, he wouldn't hide it. he'd say shit like "my chastity is in safe hands, as it always has been." or "i kneel at the altar of justice." or "my devotion to god extends to his angels." or honestly probably even crazier wordplay that i'm frankly not insane and christian enough to dream up. and everyone would be like wow this guy is really gay for god, i can tell he means it. which is true! now if you'll please ignore detective benoit blanc playing with the hem of his hat and blushing red as a beetroot behind him,
real thing that happened in theater class today
i’m obsessed with the stoltz cut of BTTF (and really the whole production of it in general) because from everything i’ve gathered this guy just showed up, didn’t break character even ONCE, played the silly funny time travel movie for children one MILLION percent straight, SO serious that it actually started to freak out sweet old christopher lloyd, insisted tom wilson ACTUALLY punch him, got upset that he wouldn’t and then ACTUALLY CLOCKED HIM in REAL LIFE in one take and then just peaced tf out forever. and then the studio kidnaps and throws this 20 something little tiny insanely sleep deprived michael j fox into this parking lot at 2am and he’s like “what’s going on yall what happened to that other guy” and essentially everyone but lea thompson was like “we genuinely don’t know. we genuinely didn’t even know who that guy was. we are scared” and michael never bothered to question it because steven spielberg himself was personally standing in the corner of his room like a sleep paralysis demon making sure he didn’t sleep at all even once the entire time they were filming
Young, dumb, and full of Christ.
I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna turn myself in
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (2025)
I love how Wake Up Dead Man subverts the usual mystery trope of the detective gathering all the suspects in a room to explain the case and reveal the murderer. They could have done that, but this is a story where we see domineering, charismatic individuals imposing their will and their power over people to do whatever they like - to tragic and horrific consequences for everyone involved. And Benoit almost -almost!- becomes one of those individuals. He literally climbs the pulpit to silence them all with a thunderous voice, to start telling the story that he wants them to see as the truth. If he had gone on, unmasked the murderer in front of everyone, he would have solved the case but been no different than Jefferson or Prentice. Not in the sense that he would act out of malevolence or that what he told the other characters was going to be a false version of events - but he would be one more righteous preacher on the pulpit, looking down and condemning the sinner. It is so significant that he has that Damascus moment, that he stops. He lets the murderer come forth freely, of their own will, in private, and it is Jud who hears their confession. No dramatic accusations or passionate explanations. Just a kind man and a good priest kneeling down with the culprit, listening to what they have to say, offering grace. And in doing so, he finally breaks the hold that the Wicks have had over the story and their parishioners for decades - not with anger or hatred as Jefferson wanted from him, but with kindness and compassion.
Benoit Blanc, my beloved
