to me randy bradley is constantly fainting and getting nose bleeds at work. mid convo with a customer and he’s hitting his head on the counter before tumbling to the ground or slapping his hand across his face cause his nose is bleeding into their burger. benson is in the corner slightly concerned, slightly amused, and a little hard for some reason… sorry not sorry

Benson reacting out of impulse emotion and accidentally shooting Randy and immediately being overcome with guilt, and Randy reacting out of impulse and accidentally seriously injuring Miss Beard, if Benson had survived, he would be haunted by nightmares of shooting Randy like Randy is haunted by nightmares of shooting Miss Beard. Also the fact Randy spends the whole day with Benson, a man who actively chose to murder 3 people and has shown no guilt over it, still clings to guilt, sorrow and remorse, and penitent masochism over accidentally hurting his teacher when he was a kid is insane, like Benson's actions are almost like hey this is what actual bad actions done on purpose looks like, thats not what you did, you're at the very least better than me, you're not the worst person ever, yet Randy maintains his I deserve bad things I'm a terrible person mindset. Anyways idk what I'm saying but Benson and Randy parallels in your actions leading to unintended harm to those around you, Benson's feelings of betrayal and simultaenous guilt over Randy would prevent him from seeing how he's helped Randy, at least for awhile, Randy visiting Benson in prison and he's just an utterly defeated shell of his former self.

#have u considered this is correct #correct correct correct #the passenger #there might also be something to say about bensons relationship with weakness here #I think a pt of bensons trauma was denying it existed #if he told himself he’s always been in control then he doesn’t have to admit that something bad was DONE to him #he can go on believing that he is the problem #seeing Randy turn that violent experience inside and blaming himself rather than others I think made benson think a lot #he had to react to Randy’s own brand of self loathing which was so filled with outright shame I think it scared him #and also imagine a world in which seeing urself as a bad person would be something so blatantly self labeled #and not gained via experience #to me this is why he was laughing #it was mania for sure but also his oh shit moment of wait this is me #this ‘weakness’ in Randy is me but I have to deny we’re the same #I think that’s part of why benson is so apt to kill as well #he constantly has to prove himself as the bad guy #no excuse for murder but ya #he’s in denial that he could ever be a ‘randy’ who is feeling bad for something out of his control #very funny double standard in their relationship #like oh Randy doesn’t deserve self loathing but Benson does (to benson)#love them #unhealed bastards 🖤
