Despite Aqua's feelings towards Kana being incredibly vague and nebulous, it is so glaringly obvious that he (at the very least) cherises Kana A LOT. Just from the way other's remark at him about Kana and things that he says to other people about Kana, it's obvious. And it's in a way that's different than how he cares for other characters, because as far as I remember, the only other thing that's comparable to Aqua's care for Kana is Aqua's care for Ai
Which makes sense given when Akane makes him realize that Kana is now an idol, his first thought and course of action is to distance himself so she wouldn't get caught in a scandal because of him, so she wouldn't end up like Ai
And the lengths he went through to help Kana out, to the point of outing Ai's secret and betraying Ruby's trust...

however. whoever he dates needs to have that signature âfireballâ energy (heâs definitely the type that needs to be constantly stimulated but in control of his dating life (wow! oxymorons are really my thing, arenât they?), and an mc like this will keep him on his toes while he still maintains whatever throne he put himself on

Bc of his propensity to push ppl away, he needs someone persistent asf, so an actual connection can develop

I love that the mc in his route is older than him (it fits so well; he def has a thing for older women)

the cutest being, i see him with a more dominant personality (i mean, not to get all historical on you guys, but itâs pretty much confirmed that he used to fuck Nobunaga, and that dominance is OUT there)
also because heâs more emotional, he needs someone who can ground him and love him right (oh my god just pls take care of him well)
ik part of his character w/ mc is sort of proving that âheâs a man,â but I think that works to cutely (seriously, take a shot everything Iâve used the word cute to describe him) w/ an older, more mature person
Uesugi Kenshin:
hear me out, i see him with a taller mc.
although mc being shorter definitely appeals to his yandere era he is constantly in, i believe kenshin needs someone who can match him in all aspects (height included LOL)
in his route, he constantly tells mc how much he loves how strong mc is and (iâm not hating on short ppl guys iâm 5â1â) mc being taller just solidifies that sort of idea
strong af and unwilling to take the full 100% of his "let's kidnap mc and make mc suffer Stockholm syndrome" love (otherwise that would be wayyyy too toxic for mc's mental health in general and not true love imo) *I love him don't get me wrong*
Takeda Shingen:

i could see him with all ages (but.. milf and shingen!? hear me out.. he definitely loves older women)
however, for him, that only goes so far. if you want to truly settle down with him, he needs an intellectual match (someone who would have those convos when youâre high asf curious abt the world on the meaning of life, philosophy, poetry, etc.)

his romance trope is the epitome of the childhood friends to lovers
this person HAS to understand his "coarse" (my vocabulary is genuinely in the trenches) sense of humor
intuitive and caring
I'm a sucker for the mc in Yukimura's route, so stubborn, strong-willed, and independent are #1's for me
100% young soul and has a lighthearted personality
Sarutobi Sasuke:
sasuke would romantically vibe with ppl just like himself (intellectual and weird/dorky asf)
goes w/ the flow attitude, adaptable, and overall a very chill person
someone who balances out his lack of emotional expressions
like the type of person who grew up just being totally weird and awkward but somehow turned out okay
Imagawa Yoshimoto:
hereâs a real curveball!
i think yoshimotoâs perfect partner would be more closed off and serious until you get close to them (like ieyasu but without as much of the short little fuck turd attitude)
I'd think that would pair well with his "I'm on shrooms half of the time x Vincent Van Gogh if he liked Japanese trading ports" vibe (exactly why I put "Midnight Rain" on his song list LOL)

there is just something very crude about seeing all these men and women point to alicent and say âevilâ âbitchâ âbad motherâ âoppressorâ
and yet no one found alicentâs desire to have rhaenyra walk across the court after giving birth just to see her baby, to âensureâ they were not bastards when 1.) laenor already claimed them for the realm to see 2.) alicent humiliated rhaenyra by doing that and insults house velaryon by questioning laenor and 3.) is doing this because shes angry at rhaenyra for choosing to live her life TEN YEARS after that situation happened. and in these ten years, it was rhaenyra offering the peace and alicent rejecting it OVER AND OVER again. it is not rhaenyraâs fault that alicent is miserable. she still agreed to live her fatherâs vision for her, especially as aegon ii is crowned as king.
alicent poisoned her kids about their own family, was angry because lyonel strong was not willing to side with her when she wanted to do things and was willing to do what she could to make rhaenyra and laenor and their kids uncomfortable in their own home. there is a reason why rhaenyra moved to dragonstone. because ALICENT IS THE QUEEN. the queen who forces a facade of her own righteousness to turn others against rhaenyra because she was the westerosi woman who was willing to be submissive and let herself dwell to the ruling of men. rhaenys said it herself. targaryens are not like that, theyâll find a way to have choices in their lives. alicent? she willingly put herself to serve the will of men around her. thatâs not her fault, of course. she was born into it.
BUT she embraced it and used it as a weapon to oppress the person she had as a friend and also betrayed to serve the will of men. and she embraced that too. then she grew mad with the fact that rhaenyra chose to have a life of her own. she let herself be consumed by her bitterness and let that be passed to her kids and create a continual cycle.
and then look where that ended up. these were KIDS and alicent helped perpetuate a grievous cycle of hatred to these kids, who also became eager to inherit it. and she didnt see how horribly that seemed UNTIL episode 8. WHICH WAS ALREADY ABOUT 20 YEARS AFTER. her kids are grown up and she fucked them up. constantly speaking about how their sister would kill them without just cause when rhaenyra kept handing branches of peace to avoid infighting. constantly undermining their own sister to their young heads when they were KIDS. they shouldnt have been hearing those words like bastards or shit to these kids. and that messed them up and that lead to so much of that anger to break in episode 7, where the lines were pretty much drawn. alicent had 20 years to make peace but she rejected until it was already too late. alicent had fault in what happened to aemond too and people dont wanna talk about it.
alicent was a victim of being a woman, this is true. but she also used that victimhood to force others down with her because she couldnât bear just doing things for her own happiness, without cloaking herself in that false sense of righteousness. because it was âdutyâ. especially on the person who loved her dearly as a friend and to her kids who deserved better than being used by her as pawns in the game she played out of her own bitterness and out of her own grief about her life. and its just sad and tragic and cruel. because she does not want to escape it and neither can she.
its just top tier things about her and its incredible. even with my judgements of her characterization, sheâs a person who has this allure of conflict and thats what makes her a great character. even if book alicent was pure evil, it doesnt take away from show alicentâs own conflict with her humanity and how she lives with that. its incredible. GRRM likes that very much and so do i.
first of all, do not skew things. rhaenyra was never a good friend to alicent and she never used her power to help alicent at all. rhaenyra, who supposedly hated what her mother went through, how her mother died, hated the social expectations put on her, even the lighter ones that come with being in the position of the most powerful woman in the real, that of being heir to the throne, and even being smart enough to realize who otto is, she never ONCE questioned her father on choosing her 15 year old best friend as wife. once this choice by the king happens, itâs all about rhaenyraâs feelings. itâs about how SHE feels. it doesnât matter that her best friend was being groomed by two adult men, she decided to sever her relationship with alicent and not speak to her for three years. three years in which alicent, as a child bride, had to endure marital rape and getting pregnant for the first time, and giving birth to the first time at 16. all of this without the presence and sympathy of her âbest friendâ. all alicent had was her own father, who was also not genuinely looking out for her wellbeing. then, rhaenyra, made viserys kick out otto and alicent was left alone in kingâs landing with a man like viserys and a man like larys around her.
rhaenyra who crudely commented on âhow romantic it must be to be imprisoned in a castle and made to squeeze out heirsâ which again further cements she was aware of how miserable alicent was but she never once uses her status as heir to the throne to help her at all, she never even says anything to her father. to me, thatâs appalling and i would never want to have anything to do more with a friend like that. the âfeminist iconâ rhaenyra completely abandoned her âbest friendâ and left her to be abused and impregnanted by her father, to give birth alone without a friend.
it was rhaenyra offering the peace and alicent rejecting it OVER AND OVER again. Â
rhaenyraâs only peace offer was marrying jace to helaena and outside of the idea that jace could be nicer to helaena, there are only downsides to marrying your daughter to the suspected bastard son, especially when obviously daemon âi will put every green head on a spokeâ targaryen circled back into the picture
it is not rhaenyraâs fault that alicent is miserable. she still agreed to live her fatherâs vision for her, especially as aegon ii is crowned as king.
do not speak of alicent like you even took the time to understand her. alicent hightower who unlike rhaenyra was showing symptoms of high stress and anxiety before anything happened to her, who was groomed by two men and manipulated by another, who was maritally raped and had four kids forced on her. who was a mother of 3 by the time she was even 20 years old. who showed clear signs of trauma.
and you know what? she has every right to put herself and her children first after the way rhaenyra and viserys treated her for years. if rhaenyra can, so can she.

all alicent is shown to say canonically is that aegon should stop bullying aemond with jace and luke because they wonât be his playthings forever and that one day rhaenyra might move to cut off any challenge to her throne. thatâs what sheâs been told all her life + once daemon entered the picture, this is pretty much real.
and once lucerys velaryon took aemondâs eye and rhaenyraâs and viserysâ incredibly gross attitudes where put into the light, that was game over for these kids. itâs why aegon was brave and told the truth. everyone and their mother knows what rhaenyra is doing and yet only aemond paid the price of an eye for it. and then she wanted him interrogated too. a child of 10 with a gaping wound in his eye. her half brother. not that she ever even tried to connect with them at all.
you think alicent turned these kids against rhaenyra? lol no. look at rhaenyra, look at viserysâŠ. they did it with their own hands. Â
had 20 years to make peace but she rejected until it was already too late. Â
rhaenyra had 20 years to make peace and apologize to her friend for the way she treated her growing up OR at least mend things politically in a serious way and she didnât.

iâm sorry to inform you that showrunners have confirmed that aemond was being bullied for a long time. jace and luke were bullies. it wasnât just aegon. it was jace and luke too. these kids were menaces as children and turned to menaces as teens and it was always them hitting first.
rhaenyra makes them swear oaths not to fight. lucerys laughs in the face of the uncle who he permanently disabled, jace speaks to aemond of âfond memories as childrenâ
without cloaking herself in that false sense of righteousness. because it was 'dutyâ. Â
sorry to inform you again but as far as alicent goes, she has done her duty to the very end. she was forced into a marriage, she gave the king heirs, she took care of that piece of shit king and she even grieve for his gross ass.
especially on the person who loved her dearly as a friend Â
rhaenyra was a very selfish self centered friend who never cared about her friendâs pain or tried to make things better for her. loved her dearly but not enough to ever be upset at her father for what he did to alicent and not enough to ever help her.
her kids who deserved better than being used by her as pawns in the game
her kids have minds of their own and see who rhaenyra is and what sheâs done, especially to aemond. maybe you should be worrying about the other kids watching rhaenyra and daemon get married on the day of laenaâs funeral after killing a random man.
i personally think you should not be speaking on alicent because you do not understand her character, youâre just campaigning for a version of rhaenyra that doesnât exist in the show
