why is it actually so complicated to start commissions?? I'm getting all turned around when it comes to the financial part of it, so I'm gonna launch my questions into the Tumblr void in hopes of getting answers cuz I'm hella confused

1) ok so I got the digital payment platforms like Paypal, Venmo, & Ko-fi but how in the world do you link that to your own bank account. *Do* you link it to your bank account? I've seen people say they make a throwaway account with their bank and just transfer money out of it as a safety precaution, but idk

2) still related to digital payment, do people use their personal accounts or do they make business accounts to hide personal information? I personally don't want people to know my personal info so i'd likely opt for a business account, and if I do that, how does that work?

3) I am not anticipating I'll get bajillions of dollars in commissions right off the bat, but how in the world would you file that income on tax forms? I've not had to file taxes before so i'm not sure how that factors in

(for all intensive purposes, I am based in the US from an advice standpoint)

ok so I know canonically it takes a lot of energy and focus to bleed a kyber crystal red, HOWEVER, and hear me out, what if when a Jedi / light-side force user with a saber gets a little too dark sidey / taps into rage & emotion, sparks from their blade flicker red, like little streaks of lightning (think: the type of crackle that Kylo's saber has, but more subtle). like imagine Anakin's lightsaber, Devon's from MSL, the possibilities are e n d l e s s. I like the idea of the kyber within a jedi's chosen saber is just as sensitive as they are/their emotions, so when the Jedi feels themselves losing control, it manifests into their blade, which really is an extension of who they are ("this weapon is your life" etc etc). anyway. do with this what you will

i just saw a post from a trans creator I used to watch a handful of years ago, and I genuinely did not recognize him until I saw his username. I mean he truly looks so different from how I remembered, and he looks so, so positively happy. So this is everybody's reminder that it does get better, btw.

• CROSSCLUES i love crossclues… one of my favorite things about them is that abolish, drift, and avid all made a promise to stick together and always tell each other everything and such. and after avid died, abolish and drift are the only ones left of the trio. even though drift definitely forgot about the promise after being turned and getting dragged into the coven, i like to imagine that at some point post-canon, the two of them would start talking again and drift would keep the promise (and abolish maybe would come around to it eventually to). i also find it fun how whenever abolish was doing his whole burning down the forest and raiding the town thing, he tried to kill everyone except drift, even when drift ran into him in the woods and he couldve done so very easily. theyre also just so fun together because abolish is really good at blending into the background and not being noticed while drift is a detective, they could make such a fun pairing if they teamed up to investigate stuff
