Most of this shit still be written in a eurocentric perspective. That’s why I tend to be reluctant to read any work on indigenous mexico by anyone other than someone who I know had actually done things in a good way to gather this information, mainly a a scholar from the same country. Cause they understand more or less that perspective of the abuel@s that white historians/anthropologists just don’t get. Even Chican@ writers let themselves be guided by a eurocentric perspective and be talking about civilizations like they were polytheistic heathens n shit. Like no, stop, and read folks like Arturo Meza Gutierrez who have spent their lives studying indigenous philosophies n history to break down ALL those common misconceptions about indigenous nations in Mexico and their beliefs and their histories.
