HOWEVER. this particular song was a) released in 1996 and b) remixed by goldie, a very close friend of noel's. which means noel could well have had this song in mind when he wrote the girl with x-ray eyes. and let's take a look at the lyrics............

i think the intensity and relentlessness of liam's romantic love can be a little scary, but i also think of all the times that it must have picked noel up in his ugliest moments. noel could commit any number of awful crimes - even against liam himself - and it would not dampen the intensity of liam's love in the slightest. that has gotta be hella affirming in the awful moments. like damn i just wished AIDS on someone and the world fucking hates me but two things remain ever true, 1) liam loves me more than he loves himself or anyone else and 2) liam's tryna fuck on me

the Liam Gallagher solo career does make me feel like I'm losing my mind a little bit. guy who was losing the breakup so so so so bad until he gets down on his hands and knees in the pouring rain and starts howling and pleading like a wounded dog and then all of a sudden HE’S WINNING?
