🦇—-;; Though it's not obvious he does it, because of the lenses that cover his eyes, Bruce looks up at Don from his tablet, watching him for a moment, the only indication he's really done that is that his hand has paused it's movements it had been doing a moment ago.
"I'm listening." He states, at least to make it clear he will hear him if he speaks. Not that he was ignoring him before. He looked back down at what he'd been working on, he can multitask can't he? Besides he's doing something he deems important right now, so he's not exactly interested in stopping just because he needs to talk to him.
He does at least have the courtesy to make sure it's apparent he's listening, regardless of the fact he hadn't stopped working to give his full attention. "Go on."
Under other circumstances, Don would be acting differently in the presence of the bat – more careful. More professional even. He’d like to leave a good impression, after all. However, the circumstance he finds himself in does not allow him to do that. He’s so nervous and worried that he’s not thinking even thinking about the impression he's leaving.
Heck, his mind ins racing so damn much that he's not even interested in studying and exploring the place he finds himself in, something he’d definitely do if he were on a different mission.
But he's not. Right now, he’s worried about his sister, who disappeared in Gotham. And that's the only thing Don can think of.
Of all the damn cities in the world, why did it have to be there? It takes everything in him not to imagine the worst. To distract himself, he lets his mind run, creating plans, and impulsively, he decides to share one of them. "I’ve got an idea." He starts, speaking quickly as only happens when he's very agitated, as soon as he notices he has Bruce's attention.
“This investigation is taking too long—” it really isn't, but for him it's taking forever. “So what if I just ran all over town and checked every possible place for Dawn?” A reasonable plan, he believes, even though deep down, he doesn't know if he’d be able to pull something like that off. "Seems easier, right?"

The Arkhan Asylum was a chilling place, to say the least. Don hated it from the start. He hated the stories and hated being there in person even more. It was too late to think about it, however, after all, he was already there.
The library seemed to be the only place that was a little less bad, and so he felt relieved when he recived the task of getting some information in some old books while the others handled interrogations with the inmates.
“That’s the one, yes.” He says, after studying the cover for a few seconds. “Thanks, I’ll return it in a minute.” It wouldn't take him more than five minutes to read the entire book using his super speed, so he'd still need to kill some time. So he decides to keep it slow. He looks around and takes his time to see where he'd sit, and after that, he looks at the woman with a certain curiosity in his eyes. “Have you work here for long?”

Don wants to point out that this wasn't his fault. Not even he knew what the hell that thing was that was chasing him, and it wasn't his intention to bring it to Gotham. He just… started running, and ended up there. He could have continued running, to somewhere far away, but he figured that since he was there, Batman could help. After all, it was Batman, and he could solve anything, right?
However, he stays quiet, and begins to think about those words. He's about to say that he has no idea what it's weak points are when an idea pops into his head. An acute sense of hearing, he said… they can use that.
“What about we tunr it's strength into a weakness we can explore?” He suggests. “Loud sounds, or a a cacophony, maybe. Some way to make it deaf or something. If we can achieve that, it's going to be a lot easier to defeat it.”

Don rolls his eyes dramatically, before looking unimpressed at Damian. “Always a delight to work with you, kid.” His voice is filled with obvious sarcasm, just to get on Robin's nerves. Don would like to be working with any of the other bat-people, but he wouldn't complain. He knows he's not the best partner either.
Using his speed, he got to Damian's side, and then ran further ahead. “Oh no, let’s see if you can keep up with me, Robin.”

27. an old muse
My goodness, I have thousands of old muses. Really. I have had so many muses over the years that it’s insane! But one that I wrote years ago and never stopped loving, and that I want to write again at some point (more specifically when I have time to read her very recent appearances in the comics) is Helena Wayne.
She, like Don, is not super popular in the comics, but I love her with all my heart— I always have, ever since I found out about her, and I would really love to develop her better this time, to explore her story, new possibilities, headcanons that I have and everything. I don't know if anyone would be interested in writing with her, but one day I'll give my girl a chance again.
28. your first muse
My very first muse in the rpc was Henry Pym Jr if i’m not mistaken. This was back in 2015 when I accidentally discovered the rpc here on tumblr and was trying to understand how everything worked. I wrote him for a long time, until I ended up focusing on other characters.
30. your choice! - so i choose drabbles!
If there's one thing I love, it's drabbles! I love reading what people write about their characters, and I've been dying to write some drabbles with mine too, but I haven't done much yet, because I think I lack confidence to? Which is super weird, given that I write with them always. I just never think my drabbles look good enough to be posted, and I always have trouble finding an idea to write about, so I really admire people who find it easy to do this.
That said, I'll try my best to write some drabbles about Don, and the Tornado Twins at some point. Suggestions are very welcome!

1. long threads
There was a time where I couldn't get my threads to get very long, but I always admired the people that could write longer threads. I'd spend hours reading their posts because they were so damn good and showed so much of their characters !
Now, I’m at a point where I feel like I can write a lot more so my threads are getting naturally longer ( I still couldn’t show this too much here but I'm writing more on my other blog ).
So yeah, I love long threads! I do think long threads are more demanding, sometimes you don't have the right time or inspiration to work on them, and sometimes they take more time to be done but I really love them. I love the descriptions and I like knowing what's going on in the characters' mind. I guess it’s a great way to show that you love and understand that character, you know ? It’s just great!
7. DNIs in rules
Okay, maybe this will be an unpopular opinion, so bear with me.
I don't have, and I don't see myself having in any point a DNI list—there's nothing that really bothers me to the point that I’d see myself needing one. However, I understand some people who have it. I say some because, in my opinion ( and I know this is very personal ), if it's in relation to a topic that makes the owner of the blog very uncomfortable, then I think they're valid. I also think that DNI for personal blogs are also kinda valid ( although I don't know if they work or not ).
But in some cases I think that DNI is just an excuse for people to be mean, I guess. Some DNI are just bullshit. I really hate seeing DNI for ocs, for example, and I do think people who have this rule are kinda jerks.
21. your current RPC
At the moment, I don't have much to complain about the rpc. Of course there are nice people and mean people everywhere, that's inevitable, and annoying things can happen sometimes, but overall, I consider myself lucky because i'm able to write and have fun in the community, so I prefer to see only the positive side.
The only thing that could improve, however, is people's engagement—especially with ocs, but in general too. I think it's important that we send a lot of memes to the people we see on dash, leave likes on posts, especially headcanons ones, send in character development asks and things like that that seem to be a little lacking these days. We all like it, so we could try harder to make it more frequent to everyone and not just some people!

Look—I do love violet threads ! Because they usually go hand to hand with action threads, and I love writing action/fighting scenes. I also think it's a relevant topic for heroic muses and in which a lot of cool things can be developed (as long as it has a reason and isn't violent just for the sake of it, you know?), so never feel shy about coming to hurt Don, because he can handle it!

tears blurring her vision, emily’s hand was still resting on the base of her reddening, bruised neck. the man – or thing? – had tried to choke the life out of her and almost succeeded before don showed up. her body trembled violently, adrenaline and shock coursing beneath the surface. the redhead looked up at him gratefully, the response coming out in a hoarse hum. “is twelve an acceptable answer?” hand brushing over her throat, “burns … ”
Seeing people getting hurt was part of the job, unfortunately. Don learned this very early. That didn't mean he was used to it, however. And it was especially bad when the person in question was someone he knew. That made everything much worse. He shakes his head quickly to clear away such thoughts and tries to stay focused on what he needs to do now. “It’s not exactly a good answer, but it’s something.” He responds, with a small smile on his face. He's trying to appear as calm as possible, which is quite difficult, to be honest. He looks around once more and realizes that there is nothing more to be done there. The guy who attacked her is unconscious and tied up now, the only thing left to do is take care of her. Then his attention turns exclusively to Emily. He assesses the bruise on her neck for a moment. “I know it feels bad now, but I have good news for you, even though this really hurts, you will survive. Won’t even leave a mark.” He hopes this will make her feel a little bit better. “Now— I can take you to a hospital if you want, or maybe back to the Wayne manor. Which one do you prefer?"
