genuinely i donāt think itās possible to easily explain the explicit part of online friendships to people who donāt Understand. i donāt mean like, explicit in the sense of āoh youāre sextingā or whatever. no. i mean when you and your friend start gleefully making up explicit sexual scenarios for your shared blorbos and you get giddier and giddier as you add more detail and youāll be grinning at your screen as you type away at mach speeds. and itās entirely nonsexual in an interpersonal sense, youāre not really getting Into it, but ohhhhh itās soooooo fun and satisfying. and you can NEVER tell someone who doesnāt also do this that your mood is actively improved like fivefold because you and your friend played Sexual Tuoys together because theyāll go āwhat the FUCK.ā

the thing about art is that sometimes you'll be moved to tears by stuff that is not very good

The one thing about gender is that frankly my ideal gender situation has very little to do with me and infinitely more to do with everyone else on the earth who cannot be fuuuuuuuuucking cool about anything ever
*guy who doesn't know anything about sports and has never cared about sports in his life* hey did you know womens professional baseball is returning after 70 years and the games are going to be streamed for free on youtube and the season starts august 1st
can i be real for one second are we not all cultivating vastly intricate filtered content lists. is that just me. i see little to nothing that bothers me. i block anything that could potentially bother me. i am blocking niche tags from 3 fandoms ago for my own peace of mind. i have the name ābruceā filtered
Basically what I'm getting from the present "giving 100% at work" Tumblr discourse is that a lot of people have fairly narrow notions of what blue-collar versus white-collar jobs actually entail. There are in fact manual labour jobs where a significant chunk of your average work day consists of Fucking Around, and conversely, there are desk jobs where you crunch eighty-hour weeks for years on end until you suddenly drop dead from heart failure at age 32. It's absolutely true that you're more likely to end up in a No Fucking Around Allowed situation in a blue-collar occupation, but you can't tell whether or not someone is in that position based purely on whether or not they work in an office. Shit, call centre workers are white collar on paper, and the kind of fuckery a lot of call centre workers are subjected to involves genuine human rights violations.
I hope this helps some people the way it helped me.
After giving this same advice about affirmations to a few people in the past few months, I thought I would put this together in comic form.
I actually recorded myself saying my affirmations and I repeat them as I listen on my drive to work. For a while, I got out of the habit of doing it and I realized I was feeling really down on myself. Iāve made it a priority lately and itās made me feel more upbeat and capable. :)
It took me a long time to figure out how to accept compliments. Iām still not entirely great at it. I always felt like agreeing in any way that I was good would be seen as bragging. And often times, I was right. People would give me shit for notĀ deflecting their compliment. I feel like this is partially an artist thing and partially a woman thing. Sometimes giving a compliment is a power grabbing move. Accepting the compliment means not letting them take that power and they get upset. You have to come to peace with that. Compliments can be a social quagmire, but ultimately, donāt waste too much time on people who make you feel bad about yourself. Easier said than done.

- go to thrift / charity shop - buy cool fabric and ugly empty journal - combine (ā„PVA glue my belovedā„) - cover inside cover with nice paper - new, much nicer journal GET
more people need to start making OCs because I just saw a post of a woman who named her real life human baby O'lyrix and I think that child's life could've been saved if mommy had just gotten all her quirky naming conventions out on a fantasy character instead of inflicting it on someone who's gonna have to submit a job application someday
