that being said, if a person says "i'm sorry, i will do better", don't be vindictive and meet it with "don't believe their apologies, they've been known to be bad". that's the point of admitting faults and apologizing: getting over self and back from being bad.

maybe i'm old, but back in my youth, we were allowed to apologize, reflect on our mistakes, be forgiven, rebuilt relationships. i don't say you shouldn't be cautios, but let's choose to believe apologies and give people the benefit of the doubt until they repeat their bad behavior.
