It’s time for the 4th annual Orctober Tuskbuddy Exchange!
The Tuskbuddy Exchange is an annual massive collaboration event between people who love to look at (and draw) orcs! Participation is open to anyone of any skill level, as long as you are willing to commit to providing one sketch and one finished piece. Do your best and you’re welcome!
Phase 1 begins immediately, and Phase 2 begins next week. Announcements with links to images and assignments will be made at Furaffinity, Tumblr, and Twitter. For full rules, read on!
All images must be 1280 x 1280 jpg or png. You can submit them by posting the image to your own gallery or image sharing service (such as imgur) and submitting a link to Captaingerbear. You may also submit a link to your personal gallery to be included in the final compilation along with your submission.
You will be notified when your image has been accepted (or if changes are required) within 24 hours. If you do NOT hear back within 24 hours, then your submission was not received! Try submitting it again, or on a different forum.

Phase 1 - Sketch  (Orctober 1st - Orctober 25th)
You sketch an orc. Images should focus on ONE original (Belonging to you) orc character, and should show at least waist-up.
A sketch should not have finalized linework, or any background, but can otherwise be as defined or as rough as you like. You may sign the piece if you like.
Nudity is allowed, but overt sexual activity is not. Pinups are alright, but generally speaking, no sexual fluids, no penetration, no spread orifices, and no obvious attempts to circumvent these rules.
One sketch per participant is allowed upfront, but after you complete your tuskbuddy’s piece, you may submit as many additional sketches as you like! Â
Phase 2 - Matching and Finishing  (Orctober 9th - Orctober 25th)
You will be assigned a sketch at random from one of the other participants, and you will make a finished piece based on the sketch. You may work directly with the supplied sketch, or you may create an entirely new piece using the sketch as an inspiration.
It must be obvious that the finished piece is based on the sketch, and participants are expected to be respectful to the original pieces.
If you use the original piece directly and it contains a signature, you must leave the signature intact, though you may also add your own signature upon completion.
After completing your assignment, you may submit more sketches, and you may also freely clean and finish any other participant’s sketches, either by random assignment or by choice. Participants who complete more sketches will be ranked more highly in the final gallery.
