I have been meaning to share this on here but since I've been posting more about it on personal my Instagram about the issue I failed to do so here:
I had a classmate in highschool I graduated with. His name was Mubarak Soulemane (we all called him Mubi). He didn't come home one day in January 2020 so his parents filed a missing persons report. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia in highschool and his family feared he may have been going through an episode at the time he went missing. He stole a car a knife point and led police on a car chase. He was cornered and barricaded himself in the car. A Connecticut State Trooper shot into the car 7 times and killed Mubi. There is dashcam footage of his death.
Mubi should still be alive today. To be tried for stealing a car like any other person. To keep live the life he was building for himself, to finish his associates degree (which he was close to finishing). But there is still no justice for him and the officer who shot him walks free and still works for the state. I remember getting the news from my highschool friend and then seeing ppl I went to highschool with, his former classmates, who said he deserved it. That he deserved to be unjustly shot and killed by police. It's disgusting.
Please sign the petition, follow @/justiceformubrack on Instagram, @/justiceformubi on twitter. Here's the linktree with some more ways to help. His family is still fighting for him. His friends are still fighting for him. The people who shared a class with him for a short period of time who care are fighting for justice. Say his name.
