Yikes, there is so much here to dissect. I’m going to try and figure out where to start. I’m gonna need bullet points

First of all, classical cartooning was always a way of showing the ugliest sides of racism with the added benefit of personifying us as exactly how blacks were really by our white kin. And what did they show us as?

and some of this shit aint even old news. So for you to casually sit there an show a picture of I R Baboon in comparison to someone who is black, regardless of context will always be racist. And to sit there like all this history never happened, or claim you didn’t know, or say I wasn’t trying to be racist, is ludicrous and the apex of White Privilage

Secondly let’s address this concept of “butchery of the English language.” The English language itself is butchery. It is a bastardized language made up of words appropriated from other languages. Ya boy Shakespear is even revered for introducing his 2000+ of his own slang into our common day lexicon.  it’s been said in a myriad of these other posts that we have something out there called the AAVE or African American Vernacular English, most commonly known as Ebonics. For those of my followers who don’t know what that is, it’s basically summarized as “the language of the Urban working class” for those of you who might still be confused Urban in this context is a fancy white person word for people of color. Basically how it works is like this. As with all linguistic forms, its usage is influenced by age, status, topic and setting. It shares a large portion of its grammar and phonology with the rural dialects of the Southern United States as well as hints of West African Creol. phrases like what @softwhorecore used in his snap chat are pretty standard in this form of English. So while it may not be your dialect @quinoapotpourri it’s still a widely recognized and used form of English. And to dismiss someone who speaks it is rude and offensive.

Even without this being racist, or his use of language. Letting people know you don’t find them cute, especially when they started their post by staying in their own lane.

My last point. IT’S A FUCKING SNAP CHAT PHOTO POSTED TO TUMBLR! This is not an English Lecture Hall. This is him trying to prove he’s earned a doctorate in Classical English. This is not him workin on a damned thesis paper. This is a social media site. A melting pot of culture, a place where we share dank memes, news, musics, and our accomplishments. if we think pics of us look cute we have a right to post them without fear of racist ridicule. What you did was really uncool.

So to sum up, DON’T EVER SHAME PEOPLE FOR THE WAY THEY SPEAK AND COMPARE THEM  TO APES.
