Ok, let's assume that LIs meet someone with a personality completely identical to their own. Would they get along well with someone like that? What would they think of him?

Hm... Well, since some of that is wrapped up in self-reflection and issues that each character has, I’d better leave the answers vague to avoid spoilers. ^^’

Noah - Probably would not get along with this type of person.

Emry - Would be cordial, professional... but not much else.

Teiran - Would either hate this person or want to marry them, probably.

Desmond - I don’t know that they’d register on each others’ radar, but if they did, I could definitely see them becoming friends.

Sooo I have a silly question. If its too silly feel free to ignore but say the MC managed to get herself stuck. Say climbing a tree to put a chick back in the nest and realized a moment too late that she hates hights how would the LI react to finding a tree-ed MC? (This MC obviously does not think through her personal actions but has good wits about her when it comes to queenly duties.)

Noah - Would probably need a minute, as he’d be too busy laughing himself sick to offer his help at first. xD Still laughing, he’d eventually hold his arms out, plant his feet, and promise to catch her if she jumps.

Emry - His expression of disbelief at finding her there would last for at least a solid minute... In a faint voice, he might ask how on earth she always manages to get into these situations, but he'd already be on his way to find help before she could reply.

Teiran - Would have to do a double-take before dissolving into helpless laughter. It would take quite a while for him to calm down, but he’d offer his help... provided she ask him nicely. The teasing would probably go on for months.

Desmond - He’d find it a little odd that MC is climbing trees, but his immediate response would be to go up after her. He wouldn’t see anything really funny about the situation, particularly if she was embarrassed, and would help her get down without laughing.

Hey I've been wondering something, how much will the game be, when release, and how long is it in terms of how much time it'd take to finish it? Sorry if these have been asked before!

Well, the price of the game is talked about here, and the release date hasn’t quite been set in stone yet. Though I will be posting a countdown of sorts for it when the time gets close…

As far how long it’ll take to play… I’m not sure, but judging from the demo, I believe one playthrough will take roughly 6-8 hours depending on your reading speed… Subsequent replays will probably be shorter, but not by too much, since it’s still a ton of choices to get through. :)

Ooooo how would things be different if the roles of Sinado and Tawar flipped? How different would the characters be?

Do you mean the roles of the countries themselves? Like if Sinado had invaded Tawar, rather than the other way around?Or do you mean like if all the Sinadoan characters came from a culture like Tawar’s, and vice versa? Well to fully answer that question, I would have to reveal some things about Tawar that would be super spoilery! ^^’

As far as just the characters themselves go, however… If I’m understanding the question correctly:

Noah - Would probably be a lot colder, and more defensive toward MC. He’d understand the logic behind Tawar making peace with its enemies, but he wouldn’t go out of his way to be gracious about it. He’d likely say and do roughly the same things, but there would be a harder edge to his courtesies, for sure.

Emry - Tawarian!Emry would probably feel little or no loyalty to his home country in this scenario… He’d probably find some way to defect to the other side if his country ever invaded another’s for reasons he didn’t agree with… Which could prove very complicated if he ever developed feelings for this version of the MC.

Teiran - The differences between this character and the canon QC one would be way too many to name. 80% of the Teiran we see in-game is a direct result of the specific conditions he grew up under. He’d just be completely different. Probably less bitter; definitely a LOT happier.

Desmond - Would he be alive if he’d been born in a country like Tawar instead of Sinado? Not sure, to be honest. If he did survive, he’d probably be the least changed, personality-wise, from the version of him in the game…

Would things have been different if MC and Roy switched roles? Her leading the armies at the front while he stayed in the Capitol to rule until he died (maybe from the thing that killed their father?)

This is another interesting thing to think about…

If MC had been on the frontlines without her brother, it probably would have had quite an impact on his strategy for the war… As much as he might have tried to deny it, he likely would’ve been more careful/cautious in his dealings with the Tawarians if he knew his little sister was the one who might be paying the price for his mistakes…

…Part of it depends on what you personally think Roy was like… Was he super impulsive, or were his failings due to something else? Was he driven by a desire to protect his people, a desire to prove himself a strong king, or by a desire to crush Tawar for contributing in large part to his father’s death?

I’m not sure how the war would have panned out in this instance, but assuming he took over the day-to-day governance of the kingdom from Bianka, I doubt it would be in much better shape than it was at the beginning of the actual game, even IF MC won all the battles on the battlefield.

Bianka, for all her faults, was probably the only thing keeping the country together during the war, with how costly and destructive it was. She found creative solutions for problems and won allies for the crown both within the kingdom, and across borders… I don’t know if Roy would have been able to do as well with the resources available, in her place. Again, it comes down to what you think he was good at…

You might have answered this before, but how much do personality and choices infuence the ending/romance, even if we fulfill the CHA/STR/INT requirement? Because I planned to romance Teiran with my "main" MC and I'm not sure if it would work? She's the type who wouldn't blow up on him (fx. at the end of the demo), since that's what he WANTS. So she keeps her cool, and refuse to lose her temper, essentially so that SHE stubbornly "wins" this small, idk powerplay? :)

The romance can be completed successfully, regardless of personality, so long as you meet that stat requirement toward the end… 

Scenes might play out a little differently, and you may or may not get certain CGs, but the romance itself will continue on unless you actually end it (or if you say something so obviously hurtful that he does). In your specific case, I wouldn’t worry too much. You missed the CG and some of the conversation with Teiran in that encounter, but that doesn’t mean the romance is over or that it can’t work. :)

Toward the end of each route, you’ll be faced with a choice (or in some cases, a pair of choices): 

- One that cuts off the romance (won’t go into detail about this to avoid spoilers, but it’ll be really obvious what this one means when you see it)

- One that can lead to a happy ending, provided the endgame’s events go your way

- Or one that can lead to a more bittersweet ending, provided the endgame’s events go your way *

The “bad” endings all result from the endgame’s events not playing out in your favor… And to be clear, when I say the “endgame,” I’m referring to events outside of the romance (at least for the most part)… :)

*Bonus - Teiran’s route comes with one additional ‘?’ kind of ending which could be considered happy, bittersweet, or sad, depending completely on your personal POV…

How did you get an idea to make a visual novel? Is this the first one you are making? What is the procedure and how hard is to find the right workers? How did you find yours? Were there any problems along the way? Why visual novel, and not book or something else? Is the programing part hard? How many people are in "Queen's Crown"s team? Did you finish any courses or a specific major?(sorry if it's too many questions, I'm interested in VNs and curious how are they made and is it possible for me)

No worries, I’ll try to answer as best I can:

“Choose your own adventure”-type stories and games have always appealed to me. :) I go more into detail about my ideas/inspirations in this ask and this one.

While this is the first VN I ever started working on, I completed a shorter, scifi-romance VN about a year ago called ‘This, My Soul.’ It was completed in one month for the Nanoreno game jam, so the quality probably isn’t quite as good as something like QC, but you can check it out here, if that doesn’t put you off. ^///^

The best place I’ve found to start looking for fellow artists/writers/programmers who might be interested in collaborating with you is the Lemma Soft Community. It’s also a good starting point to research different VN game engines (particularly the Ren’Py engine), how to use them, and all the different development aspects behind making these games... The recruitment threads especially might interest you.

I find programming to be a bit difficult, but mostly because I get easily confused and I’m still a beginner. Other people actually find it pretty easy. Many can tackle the writing, art, and coding aspects all on their own (er... not me, obviously...).

QC is a bigger project. Off the top of my head, I believe there have been upwards of at least 15 people who have contributed to it so far... Most of them were commissioned to do a specific part and then departed when they were finished, but it isn’t unusual for a collaborator to stay on a more long-term basis as a full-time partner either. Especially if you decide to create your own studio. :)

As for specific courses or majors, not particularly. I’m a writer, so I took several writing courses throughout college and high school, but my credentials pretty much end there. I’d venture to say that hard work, perseverance, and practice are more important tools in the field of making VNs than getting a specific degree... but any course/class that improves your -writing/artistic/programming/video editing/marketing/etc. - skills is probably going to benefit your game in some way! ;)

Hello! I just wanted to said that I'm really exited for this game. I come across it quite recently and fell in love with the demo, so I'm happily waiting for when it's fully released 💖. I have been following this blog since then, it's really entertaining to read your headcannons and how the LIs would react in certain circunstances haha. [1/2]

Also, I have to say that Teiran won my heart! I known he might seen annoying to some people, but I'm mostly amused by him lol I can't wait to show him what my MC got in his route, it'll be interesting I'm sure. I hope everything goes well in the next couple of months that you'll be busy preparing the game! I'm certain everyone who liked the demo and follows you will cheer for everyone involved! *waves* hi!! I cannot wait for this game to release, and to play ALL the romance routes. I have a question though; you’ve mentioned Emry gave up his path toward the Scholar’s Faithful to succeed his father; does MC get the chance to investigate how he felt/feels about this in his route? And if not, could you share whether he found that decision easy or hard? I just feel so bad that he had to give something he loved up to (ultimately) be in MC’s orbit.

This is something that can be brought up in conversation with him during his route, yes, depending on the player’s dialogue choices. He gets a little evasive with his answers, since he doesn’t want MC to feel bad about it, but if it’s any consolation, he has no regrets. :)

How would the setting be different if the MC had been all but exiled to the distant family estates since it was suspected she would attempt a coup due to how loudly she disagreed with Roy's rule? Maybe she had been planning it in earnest or maybe it was just her being victim of paranoia, but she was unable to wriggle out of it until the succession defaulted to her since nothing was made "official."

Hm... That’s an interesting question. In this scenario, MC’s brother would have had to have been quite a tyrant! I’m hesitant to flat-out say he couldn’t have been one, but I feel like MC’s mother would have put up a fight about it if Roy tried to place his sister under house arrest like that.

He could have imprisoned her as well, or he could have manipulated her into compliance, but either way, I feel like the biggest differences between this setting and the canon one IS the Queen Regent.

Mother would have to be a completely different character than the one we meet in the game. Instead of sad, mourning, world-weary, and a bit careless, we probably would have gotten a queen-mother who was anxious, skittish, weak-willed, and downtrodden...

... Which probably would have set the tone for a much darker game overall. Interesting how the change of one secondary character could essentially change the whole story!

I read the teary+arranged marriage!MC ask and I'm really curious,how would Teiran/Noah respond if (1) in the next couple of days after their actual marriage MC started trying to get along/understand them better and despite any misgivings/fears trying to just find ways to bond through little activities, meals/teas, etc. with the reasoning that she'd much rather try to spend the rest of her life with someone she considered a friend, then a stranger, and (2) they actually fell in love with T+AM!MC?

I really liked that one. ^^ Let me see if I can answer your questions while avoiding spoilers...

Neither of them would rebuff her attempts at building a relationship. 

Noah would even happily reciprocate such gestures. :) He’s very much a “fixer” by nature. He identifies problems, and instead of brooding or obsessing over them, his mind immediately jumps to finding the best possible solution and carrying it out, no matter how difficult it is. Seeing the MC is of like mind in this regard would give him a lot of hope for their marriage... and yes, he might even feel the first stirrings of love (or at least attraction) because of it. :D

Teiran would be much more reticent about the situation, for reasons that wouldn’t have anything to do with what he thought of MC personally... To explain much more would be too spoilery, but he would be reluctant to respond to MC’s overtures of friendship at first... He just... doesn’t see how this could possibly end well for either of them.

How would the LIs react / what kind of advice would they give a MC who was perhaps overwhelmed or stressed by her role like unable to sleep or pacing, poring over old files etc. Not wanting to make the wrong choice and of very conscious of her position and want to be the best ruler she can be. Of proving that her Father wasn't wrong to make it so that she could rule as well as making her mother and deceased brother and father proud. [sorry if this seems vague].

I think I answered an ask about this a while back. It was a match-up ask, but I think the answer still apply in a broad sense. :)

I was curious if there are any traditions in your world where people give tokens to someone they're interested in? Like our Valentine's Day. If so please tell us about the holiday.

Aside from the ones mentioned here?

Hm... In the world of QC, giving tokens of affection is usually wrapped up in the courtship process, so there aren’t many occasions that involve exchanging them casually. Gift-giving is serious business. xD

Possibly the exception is in Kartura. They don’t have marriage and courtship customs the way Izcapor, Tawar, and Sinado do, so the odds of them celebrating romance in a way similar to RL is quite high. I imagine they probably have a pair of holidays that might work roughly the same way Valentine’s Day and White Day work in anime...

They’re a month apart, so the holidays are just jointly referred to as “Grebe Month” (after the Great Crested Grebes that are known for presenting gifts of weeds to each other when courting! ^^). 

During the month, everyone who is of-age is encouraged to present tokens of affection to the person they’ve most recently become interested in. It is then considered tradition for the recipient to wait until the very last day of the month to reciprocate, ostensibly either so that they have plenty of time to decide whether or not they return the gifter’s feelings, or so that they have time to find a way to gently turn them down if they don’t...

The earlier in the month you give your gift, the bolder, more admirable, and more devoted to your feelings you look, so part of the fun is determining what kind of message you’re trying to send (and of course, trying to screw up your courage enough to actually go through with it. ;D).

It’s all very dramatic and agonizing for the would-be lovers involved: the suspense, the will-they, won’t-they, etc... 

It’s all part of the fun though, and once a Karturan is past a certain age or has - more or less - committed to one partner, they stop taking it too seriously. :) Some couples even compete to see who can surprise the other with a proper Grebe gift first, because it then forces the other person to wait a whole month before they can present a gift back!

LI's thoughts on adoption? Would they feel differently towards their adopted children compared to how they'd feel about their own biological children?

Noah? Literally not at all. Once they’re his, they’re his. 

Emry might ironically do better with a child he hasn’t had 9 months to fret and over-think about interacting with... At least initially. It would all even out after a couple months.

With both Teiran and Desmond, it depends on how spur-of-the-moment the adoption is. If it’s a carefully meditated choice that MC discusses with them at length ahead of time, their feelings/reactions would probably be about the same as with a biological child. 

If MC just kind of... showed up with a kid one day, they’d be a lot more skittish at first. Teiran especially would be terrified out of his mind. He’d get over it, and he wouldn’t even necessarily be angry at MC (if it was sudden, then I assume the circumstances were pretty dire in some way), but he’d need some time to warm up to the idea of being a father.

Basically, there might be a few differences with some of the characters, but all of the LIs have the potential to bond just as strongly with adopted children as he would with biological ones. :)`

How would the LI's react if they were like, hanging out with the MC, maybe having some tea or something, and the MC's best friend walks by. Instead of being all like "Oh hey! Good to see you!" though, the MC says something like "Oh hey Jane. How ya doing? By the way, where did you get your shampoo? It looks like you washed your hair with shit." And the friend is all like "Hello to you too. By the way, who helped you dress today? It looks like you are wearing something from a rats ass."
