Holly Maniatty, a certified sign language interpreter upstaged hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg with her enthusiasm during his concert at the Jazz Fest in New Orleans. Maniatty has worked numerous festivals and concerts with well-known rappers including Beastie Boys, Wu-Tang Clan and Killer Mike and this isn’t the first time that she has stolen the show with her major skills.

This looks like some special type of sign language that assists people with understanding the beats and innuendo along with lyrics.

As someone who personally survived the Reagan/Thatcher years, I’m gonna second this. The minimal margin by which some extremely fortunate and possibly privileged members of our community crawled out of the smouldering wreckage of that period is not actually a sign that ‘we’ survived. We, as a cultural group, lost so much and so many that modern LGBT+ culture is essentially reinventing the wheel as far as cultural concepts go. We didn’t survive. We started over.

i haven’t stopped seeing notes for this since I posted it and I just wanna reiterate: it’s really important that you don’t get romantically involved with people you can’t be friends with. Separating a romantic relationship from a platonic context is unhealthy. Your romantic partner/s should always be your friend/s.
