harrow the ninth Book Of All Time actually. gaslights the audience immediately. doesnāt answer any of the questions from the last book until like 300 pages in. complete perspective shift. complete tonal shift. god is making poe references and meme references in the same breath. blink and youāll miss it lore drops that are actually critical to understanding whatās going on. so so much grief. Book Of All Time.
The dichotomy at the end of HtN between Harrow entering her river bubble and crying/mourning profusely when she remembers Gideon and what she's done versus Gideon in Harrow's body on the Mithraeum running around in her old sunglasses, getting her thumbs bitten off, making jerk off gestures at Ianthe, pausing to admire a naked chick painting and then discovering that she is Jesus H Christ all in the span of like twenty minutes
Harrowhark "I programmed my skull to give me concussions every time I almost thought about my dead girlfriend" Nonagesimus, most relatable character in fiction.
I donāt think a ship has ever consumed me the way griddlehark has
One of the saddest things to me is that Alecto is described as this horrible angry monster by the Lyctors. Every single lyctor is terrified of her, enough that Gideons eyes freaked them the fuck out before they realized she wasn't Alecto. And she is. She is so very angry and monstrous.
Nona is kind. She is cheerful and thoughtful and gloriously kind. Pyrrha, Camilla, Palamedes and Corona can't help but to love her. She has friends and she loves people for you they are and is just wonderful.
Nona is Alecto without the memories of what John did to her. Alecto is Nona without the kindness of Pyrrha, Cam and Pal.
Nona is what Alecto could have been. What Alecto was, before everything.
Honestly Scarlet Hollow is just the most game of all time.
You can deliver a baby. You can carry a bag of boiled peanuts around for a week straight. You can weigh in on dog politics. There are hot mentally ill singles who would love to go on a quest with you. You can save everyone (you can't save anyone). Your roommate is an opossum. You get to watch everyone you love lose their autonomy. There's a pug. There's a psychic torture prison. There's some of the worst moms you've ever met. You can fuck the sentient mold, if that's your thing.
WE ARE SO BACK
Everything is awesome and the world is filled with hope, never kill yourself <-just listened to the malevolent finale
Ok Harlan thank you Harlan
This is my biggest take away from the episode
Absolutely hilarious that Arthur's inability to remember right from left played a role in everything going to hell. 100/10.
he said it back. whatever. [explodes]
"You told me it will get worse," Kaladin said.
"It will," Wit said, "but then it will get better. Then it will get worse again. Then better. This is life, and I will not lie by saying every day will be sunshine. But there will be sunshine again, and that is a very different thing to say. That is truth. I promise you Kaladin: You will be warm again."
Happy Halloween, guys
Oh yeah Arthur āDaughter Issuesā Lester and Lilith āDaddy Issuesā the Entity is going to be a great team I can already tell
Love that the Trader's first response to seeing a weird, naked man be birthed from a tree is, "Not this clown again." The Trader does not haunt the narrative. The narrative haunts the Trader.
