The last one, Cypresses with Two Figures, is my personal favorite because if you look at it up close, you can see that the paint is packed so hard on the canvas that it makes the painting look like a topographical map

No photo can do it justice, but seeing the detail, especially on these lesser known pieces, really shows how much of an unparalleled master Van Gogh was. Each painting in the gallery was so beautiful and had so much detail and seeing them up close was special in so many ways

I used to work with a woman who was extremely nasty-mean to me for absolutely no reason at all. She was generally unpleasant to everyone, but it was obvious to me (and to another coworker) that she had something very pointed against me in particular and made it no secret. It got so bad that I made several official complaints, and my supervisor said, "that's just how she talks to everyone. She's super blunt, but she doesn't mean it! Maybe you're just misunderstanding her tone because you're Autistic?"

Later during my 6-month employee review, the same supervisor said, "sometimes when you correct people, you can come on a little too strong and intimidate or offend people."

We went over the specific instances he was referring to, and I said, "I don't think I was unfair or too harsh in any of those situations. I think I was just straightforward for clarity."

He said, "maybe you don't realize your tone is too harsh because you're Autistic?"

So there it is.

If someone's very obviously singling you out to be outright cruel and unfair, you must give them the benefit of the doubt, because you're Autistic and cannot understand.

If you're being straightforward and normal, but someone thinks you're being unfair, you do not get the benefit of the doubt, because you're Autistic and cannot understand.

And when you point this out to allistic people, either they don't believe you, do not care, or do not try to understand.

I'll add that the initial post wasn't even calling Hbomb out for underpaying her, it was this vaguepost venting about being interpersonally poorly treated:

The posts about being underpaid came after Hbomb made his post, and after the dogpile was well underway. I think it deserves to be republished here, because it really is a dreadful instance of an artist being undercompensated:

Hbomb's post would be indefensible either way, but I think laying out the order of events illuminates things even further. Patricia Taxxon would be well within her right to call out being underpaid at any time, but as it stands she brought it up after Hbomberguy and his producer* contributed to the harrassment campaign against her. I would bet money that this is why Lily Alexandre deleted her post - because it validates Patricia's claim of underpayment that she posted in response to Hbomb pedojacketing her.

What we have here is a woman being piled on for the crime of venting that a man - who she did not even name - treated her poorly. "Lefttube" my ass.

for some context i have a degree in music composition and you wanna know what a good starting rate for a composer is? 150/minute of finished music (AND she should have gotten a cut of the profit from that video). like he basically paid her an okay rate... for ONE minute of music. and got THIRTY.

actually i think the real issue is that hbomberguy is a cisgender man with a fair amount of social and literal capital (at least comparatively speaking here) and he is happy to leverage his privilege against a visibly disabled transgender woman in order to discredit and unperson her to avoid actually taking accountability for his shitty actions.

if this was happening between two people not in the internets public eye, it would probably resolve worse, as patricia taxxon would not have a sizable group of people witnessing her mistreatment and defending her from it! this exact dynamic plays out constantly to trans women! they are cast as sexual predators and a threat to childrens' safety in order to justify denying them fair pay, housing, treatment, legal protections, etc...

i think, sure, this situation involving somebody with the internet cloud hbomb has is thus increasing the visibility for people to decide to get in on harrassing ms. taxxon! but i think saying that the real problem is that its concerning Online Personalities is very much choosing to avoid the core issue of transmisogyny.

sure, everything you said is true. but people are also willing to smear and socially excise trans women pretty much no matter whats going on or what scale something is happening at, as many transfems would be able to tell you. this happens at the friend group level, at the roommate level, at the workplace level, etc, constantly.

dont tiptoe around whats happening here. patricia taxxon is facing ungodly amounts of harrassment and false accusations because she is a transgender woman, not because hbomberguy is a Big Name!
