I watched Akira (1988)

I’m not into anime much, I’ve seen a few, and I like it, but its not something Im into hardcore. I’ve always heard how great Akira is, and its one of those movies I just haven’t gotten around to seeing

Long story short, I loved it, theres some stuff I honestly didn’t really get, like the source of everyones powers, but overall the movie was great. Amazing artwork, and although it’s obviously dated, its dated in the best way possible. Amazing action and truly terrifying visuals at some points. All the characters were interesting, and it was amazing to see how a teenage biker gang were put into a secret government supernatural science fiction type plot without it being unbelievable and cheesy.

It had really great dark anti-authoritarian themes, and I liked how there was never really a true villain or true hero, all the characters had clear motives, flaws, and virtues.

I definitely recommend to anyone, even if you don’t like anime, and I would greatly appreciate any recommendations for more movies like this.

That feeling was one I never really knew how to deal with; As I sunk, the ceiling gravitated things that I never could lift.  I found out that healing came gradually and stayed shortly, unlike a gift,  But as of now, these circumstances have begun to shift.

This feeling is new, similar to the old, but it feels so true. Scouring the dictionary for the right words to say to you, but in reality, The casualty naturally extinguished my apathy, Creating illusive courage, the clouds silver lining has trapped me in believing that the story is toned happily.

There's people out there that I will always wish the best for, and yet I will never be able to watch them achieve it. It hurts, but it has become part of my life.

I turned on my old phone and saw so many memories. It's incredible how fast those moments flood back to your heartstrings to play a melancholy tune from my past. Wishing that I could look back and be happy for the good times, yet wishing that they never left.

I keep pursuing my dreams, new and old. Remnants from past dreams laid in scattered plots among these photographs and readmitted the feeling back to my consciousness.

I do not regret taking these pictures, as they remind me of instances that I had complete bliss.

One day, my hope is that I can reconnect with those people, and meet someone who also wants to create moments worth capturing, together.

The official video for Flobots’ new single “Quarantine”. 

Flobots’ Emcee Brer Rabbit created the video using footage from the 1988 classic Anime film Akira. Brer Rabbit, a fan of Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo, discovered the movie as a teen from a bootleg VHS, which in his own words, changed his life forever. 

“The colors, the characters, the MUSIC, the message,” states Brer Rabbit, “Otomo painted a vision of the future in dark strokes, the constant clash for power, the eradication of information to control the narrative, how our monsters and heroes are homemade, and ultimately that children will be the ones who will have to pay the price.”  

Seeing the parallel themes in Flobots’ song “Quarantine”, Brer Rabbit was inspired to “dust off [his] old Otaku chops and make an Anime music video”. 

He continues, “In times of division, vision is essential. We do not need to separate ourselves from one another. We need to set a perimeter around the parts of ourselves that deny other people’s pain - to quarantine the part within that feeds on the ritual of ‘us versus them’, of enemies. In the war against fear we are all on the same side.”

Sooooo I was taking a break from my comics and what not and decided to draw this. I didn’t want to leave you all Hanging~ Anyway! I don’t really have much to say about this…. but I hope you like it! Also i am sorry I haven’t posted much. A lot of it is either classwork or NDA stuff. I’ve also been working on a video game and comic book so there’s not a lot I can show atm. I will be making a kickstarter for the game eventually, but this is going to take a very long time.

Still in my dreams

This is why I do whatever I can to not have them, but you show up, refusing to listen to what I had to say.

"May I ask you a question?" I said. "Why is it that you are so beautiful?"

You turned around to hide what I assume was a smile. Of course we were working side by side, but not at the diner we were working at in the past, but the restaurant I work at now.

It was also peculiar that you partially or completely had lost all recollection of what had transpired in our time together.

A movie played from a projector in the middle of the room. I mentioned how the movie had to do with fate and how you should watch it with me.

I don't know why it's been nearly a year since I've seen you and you still linger within my subconcious.

I hope you are able to live the life you wanted, and receiving the love you deserve.
