Blitz's fuckboy persona

I don't think Verosika ever knew the real Blitz.

The photo of them together has Blitz pulling a fake smile.

We can see him pulling a very similar fake smile, and pulling on this fuckboy persona with Stolas after the invite comes up. (He started off a lot less combative).

This makes him flip back to how he acts at her, because it hurts so much. And this feels safer.

And Stolas because he Does knows Blitz he spots the bullsh*t, and pops him bubble.

And then tell him to leave after Blitz refuse to drop it.

He pulls the same 'smile' it again when he's arguing with Verosika later.

It makes me feel that he must have had this fake front the majority of the time with her.

I wonder if that photo was from the day Verosika told him she loved him.

Her tattoo seems like something she did off her own bat.

They have to be covered a while after they're done, so my bet is the tattoo is how she told him.

With Blitz dumpling her that night.

Blitz-Fizz Dance Analysis

I feel like this little moment was Fizz’s way of showing Blitz forgiveness after his apology!

At first, Blitz was only planning on throwing the confetti here. He turns away immediately.

They’re not partners anymore (the fire destroyed that, and it’s been 15 years)

But also… performance is Fizz’s thing and Blitz feels he’s only there to enhance his performance,

But then Fizz pulls him in to join him, in what I feel like is an implicit sign of forgiveness

He’s letting Blitz perform with him again, as a sign that the fire is now water under the bridge, they’re okay, they’re back to normal

At first, Blitz is too shocked to react

But then Fizz does this, and it’s like Blitz’s performing muscle memory kicks in (he does the tail thing too)

That’s when he smiles,

That’s when the joy and memory of joy performing with Fizz kicks in

Free of insecurity about his talent/pain surrounding the fire

As well as the understanding he’s truly been forgiven

Look at that smile

And it ends perfectly with this little flirty moment

(Love how he pulls him closer ^^)

I do believe they had a ‘homoerotic best friends’ type relationship - so this is yet another confirmation that it’s all forgiven and they’re back to normal <3

(Fizz then drops blitz, which is a gag I know, but it still feels like another return to their silly goofy ways!)

Why do we segregate sports by sex?

Disclaimer: this video was intended as a fun look at the inconsistent logic of gender segregation in sports, but as a short-form video, it naturally does not go into much nuance. Stolas retreats and that is what makes Blitzø leave

Because he doesn’t want to be hurt, so he leaves before Stolas can do that totally

okay so yeah this short is very obviously poking fun at fans and fandom at large but also. aside from being a stereotypical fangirl. emberlynn is also very, very similar to early-episodes stolas.

i mean. the immediate sexualization of their first encounter (or at least, first encounter as adults)

the pose.

the nickname.

the obvious projection of submissive sexual fantasies.

the over-reliance on fiction to inform their sexual expectations.

and, yes, the harassment at work.

i feel like maybe this short was also speaking to some fans who don't quite get how blitzo didn't see stolas' feelings as genuine. this is how. embrlynn and stolas aren't exactly the same, but they have some (i believe, intentional) similarities, and i think this short makes it clear how fetishized their actions made blitzo feel.

don't get me wrong. there are differences. and it's clear by now that stolas and blitzo have genuine feelings for each other. but this is an aspect that i think a lot of fans missed and need to see more clearly.
