IT'S PRIDE MONTH Y'ALL
the met gala is tonight, and i know a lot of us are excited for it. and why not, it's a fun event! but while we're here, please spare some thought for the people of palestine as well. they don't have a platform nearly as big as the met gala does, but they need it more desperately and they need it urgently.
i don't know if any celebrity at the gala is going to mention palestine or speak out for them. but we don't need to wait for a celebrity to show support or tell us what to do. we have power too. every single one of us here has a voice, and the power to uplift others using that voice. we don't need one person to donate thousands. but even if a hundred people donated $5 each that's $500 put towards helping a family survive. and that means more to gazans than i can say.
if you can afford it, please donate to anyone from @gazavetters's spreadsheet (here). if you're uncertain or cannot choose, then please consider:
my friend ibrahim @aburakhiaibrahim (vet | paypal | gfm)
the isnad foundation @isnaddfoundation which provides gazan students with a safe space to study and continue their education (vet | chuffed)
my friend mahmoud @ma7moudgaza2 who is the founder of isnad (paypal | gfm)
if you cannot donate, please reblog so that the post can reach someone who can. thank you.

If it ain't my fave on pole, I don't want it.
Stand up for trans rights 🏳️⚧️ Join me and @GoodLawProject and help us fight the rollbacks on trans rights in the UK.
The Good Law Project is raising funds 'to look at both domestic and international [trans rights] cases, all the way up to the European Court of Human Rights'.
In their words:
'The Supreme Court’s decision this week to not include trans women in the definition of women in the Equality Act isn’t just wrong, it’s extremely harmful. The Supreme Court can kid itself all it likes about this decision not being bad for trans people, but trans people know it is the latest savage blow against a community that is already reeling. We are committed to stand with the trans community and fight these rollbacks, whatever it takes'
Please consider donating to them, if you can.
Their separate crowdfunder just for challenging the Supreme Court ruling is now at over £200,000 - keep it going!
[The ruling the Good Law Project is referring to.]

Lewis Hamilton | Monaco '24
I love discussing Sir Lewis Hamilton's influence on F1 fashion, but his impact goes far beyond that.
He's changed self-expression, networking, and how drivers use social media for personal and business purposes.
Esteban Ocon even started taking notes after seeing Lewis lead the way.
Lewis was mocked for things that others now follow. Take this 2015 interview, still on the F1 website—where the interviewer not only implies Lewis is vain for his passion for fashion, but also tries to get him to admit it. He was 30 years old and being spoken to like that simply for wanting to express himself through clothing.
Thanks to him, drivers now confidently express themselves on social media and beyond, promoting their polyester merch and cheap beverages.
He laid the groundwork for individuality.
Risking censure for posting on Snapchat, Lewis pushed for self-expression, both on and off the track
Not that long ago Lewis was being sent cease and desist letters for doing something that now all teams and even Netflix crews do freely.
While I don’t fully trust the FIA, this is a step forward and part of the legacy Lewis is leaving behind. This has been years in the making.
The new Diversity & Inclusion charter, born from The Hamilton Commission, will drive change across F1, with support from Lewis' own Mission 44 foundation
His continuous support for the LGBTQ community means the world to me.
His unwavering commitment, especially considering he’s been the target of homophobic remarks himself is something I hold very dear
From championing inclusion in F1 to defending Naomi Schiff against online abuse, Lewis' actions speak volumes.
As Susie Wolff said, it’s a little sad Lewis is often the only one offering support, knowing what it’s like to be the only one and having an affinity for others facing similar struggles
To wrap up, Sir Lewis Hamilton is more than a 7-time World Champion, he’s a global icon and a force for change.
He carefully chooses sponsors and teams, like Ferrari, based on their commitment to be inclusive and diverse
He's done something similar with Mercedes as well, so this isn't new

TIME IS NOT REFUNDABLE.
USE IT WITH INTENTION.
art will save you, being unreasonably passionate about something niche will save you, letting past sources of joy show you the way back to yourself will save you, earnestness over composure will save you, the natural world will save you, caring for something bigger than yourself will save you, daring to be seen will save you, kindness not as a whim but a principle will save you, appreciation as a practice will save you, daring to try something new will save you, grounding will save you, love will save you, one good nights sleep will save you
