After hours of waiting you overheard harsh footsteps towards the dressing room and then he walked in. He smelled slightly of alcohol, and that answered a good part of your questions, but the 'why is he here?' still remained. You decided to let him in, even though you knew it probably wasn't the most logical thing to do.

"Yes, of course, come in." You answered and took a few steps back, so he could come in. He ran a hand through his black curls and closed the door behind him.

He looked up and looked at you, biting the inside of his cheek. He walked in and closed the door behind him, looking at the girl in front of him, and he felt himself getting hard in his pants. Duff remained still, watching her, wondering how to not look like an idiot, but for now the only solution was to remain leaning on the edge of the rink, watching her while she enjoyed herself.

"Are you not going to move?"

"I don't like ice skating, it's stupid."

"It's not stupid," she scolded him. "It's artistic and it's relaxing, it's not even difficult."

"So?" she asked, and at those words he was convinced. He let go of the edge of the white fence behind him and took a step, then a second, and a smile crept onto his thin lips, who became pale from the cold.

"Hey, look, I can do it!" He exclaimed, looking at her, smiling like a child, but before she could congratulate him, the boy fell onto the ice, leaning on his forearms to avoid hitting his head on the ice. He quickly grabbed the fence and stood up, pretending nothing had happened, while she laughed.

"Can we go?" he asked shyly, trying to ignore the obvious and persistent pain in his buttocks from falling onto the cold, hard ice. She just rolled her eyes and shook her head, taking his hand and slowly walking him across the ice, a little awkwardly.

"Step by step, it's not hard, is it?" She asked, holding his hand firmly, following his steps.

"I never said it was." He replied, obviously lying.

"Come on..." She muttered, trying to encourage him to continue, she didn't want to leave so soon, everything had such a nice atmosphere: the children laughing, the smell of the donuts cooking in the small shop nearby, the place lit up with twinkling lights. Duff meanwhile was taking his first steps, like a child, biting his lip and keeping his eyes fixed on his feet. He was adorable, to say the least, with his black hat and blond hair sticking out of it, the tip of his nose and slightly red cheekbones and his concentrated expression.

She took his face between her index finger and thumb, squeezing his cheeks, and gave him a light kiss on the cheeks, almost making him fall---again. He smiled, his gaze remaining on his feet.

"Hey, it's not that hard..." He muttered and slowly began to go faster, still holding her hand though.

He couldn’t get over how much he missed her, even though he tried, with all his heart. He’d gone out with a couple of girls, all exactly the same, gotten drunk with his friends, written songs with Axl, but everything remained the same.

He saw her eyes everywhere, every voice sounded like hers and the girls in the crowd all had her face, but none of them actually looked like her.

When he saw her, dressed the way she dressed to go out with him, the way she looked at the boy who was now leaving, in that moment he lost all the dignity he had left.

He passed by her house casually, now he passed by at every chance he had, just in the hope of seeing her again, even suddenly, for a brief moment, and that day he was lucky enough to see her, too bad she was with someone else who was now leaving after taking her home.

He waited for the boy to completely leave before approaching the girl he had been painfully spying on for some time.

She was as beautiful as he remembered, maybe more. Ever since they broke up he kept looking at the Polaroids of the two of them together, trying not to forget what her face looked like, but now that he had her a few steps away he realized that all the photos he had seen and re-seen in the last few days were not like being able to really see her, to feel her presence, not even close. He couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to have her in his arms again, in their bed, in their room, that wasn't theirs anymore.

Slowly, cautiously, he approached her, as if he was afraid of scaring her, and he was a little like that, he didn't want to push her away again, for now he just wanted to know how she was doing, that would be enough for him. When he was behind her, he slowly placed his hand on her arm, feeling the soft skin under his fingers, so linear.

She turned sharply and looked at him in silence for a moment, trying to process the situation that her ex was there, in front of her house, in front of her.

"Hey." She murmured, she had a nervous smile on her lips, seeing him after the breakup had a strange effect on her that was far from embarrassing, it was different, what she felt for him at that moment was a mix of conflicting feelings. On one hand she wanted to throw him in the past, never see him again and move on, but at the same time she just wanted to have him back with her, to have never left him.

"Hey." He answered her, his eyes were full of hope, even if they were hidden by his glasses and his long curls. "Who is he?" The curly-haired man asked, looking at the girl in front of him, wanting only to take her home and maybe have reconciliation sex with her.

She didn't answer him for a few seconds, articulating the sentence as best she could, at the same time trying not to hurt him. "He's just a friend." She said at the end, keeping it very vague and he nodded, not wanting to intrude too much.

"How are you?" She whispered, trying to see his eyes from behind her curls. He didn't answer her, she knew him well enough to know how he really was, and he knew she'd sensed it.

She looked down, moving a lock of hair from his face, looking at his pink lips, then his eyes. "I'm sorry." He took the phone and put it to his ear, his voice was low and shy, he wasn't really sure what he was doing. He turned to look at his friend sitting on the bed, he had a slightly disappointed look, the boy wasn't proud of what he was doing, nor was he himself, but sometimes you had to lower your pride: he missed her, and he wanted her back.

The phone rang, but there was no answer. He remained silent, both hoping that the girl would answer, so that the two could clear things up, and the boy sitting on the bed would finally have his best friend back, and not the crazy man he found himself with.

"Hey, honey... It's me, I'm sorry for what happened... Please call me back... I love you..." Izzy murmured and closed his eyes, trying not to sink into shame, and so ended the call. He turned to her friend and looked at him with an anxious look.

"Was it really as painful as it seemed?" he murmured, sitting down next to him.

"I wish I could tell you no but... yeah, it was painful, almost pathetic." He replied, putting an arm around his shoulders.

A little, though, he was happy that the girl didn't want to take him back. He had made shitty choices with her and she didn't like it, in the end she deserved it.

Slash's curls tickled the dark-haired man's neck gently, who was now on the verge of tears. He clenched his fists, letting his bitten nails scratch the soft skin on the inside of his palm. He felt like he was standing on a cliff, unable to go back.

"I love her... More than anything..." He murmured, looking down, squinting and clenching his teeth.

"Then you shouldn't have done what you did..." The other replied, giving him a light pat. "Pray she doesn't hate you." The curly-haired man added, massaging his friend's shoulder with one hand.

The other remained silent, speechless. He didn't understand how it had happened, how and why he had let it happen. But now she was gone, and now he would no longer have her.

Her sweet gaze would no longer watch over him as he slept, she would no longer help him stay sober and he would no longer be able to write her love songs without bursting into tears.

He could already imagine himself: lying on the bed, with the faint light of the moon illuminating the room and the cigarette between his lips. The sweet words written on the paper, words she would no longer want to read, words she didn't want attributed to her.

She was his muse, his girlfriend, his salvation, the light at the end of the tunnel.

Now that light was out, and he would remain in the darkness of his room, faced with sweet words and salty tears that crossed his cheeks, that marked them like little cracks on his pale and slightly bony face.

God, he wanted her back, he needed her, he needed her to be his again, he needed to feel her lips against his skin again, his stomach, between her breasts... He wanted to smell her in the blue sheets of the bed again, sheets they had chosen together when they decided to move in together.

Izzy knew it, Slash knew it, and she knew it, but by now that relationship seemed to be falling apart, and she wanted to move on with her life, and with yet another mistake by Izzy, she realized that that relationship that had started as a high school crush, was now over.

prompt: reader cheats on her boyfriend with Tommy after drinking togheter, the morning later she looks for her shirt so that she can leave, but she finds something else.

He looked at her with a wicked little smile, while she pulled up her low-waisted pants, which showed off her tanned stomach. He pushed himself up on his forearms and looked her up and down, bit his lip and tilted his head to the side, looking her over carefully.

He reached out with a muscular, tattooed arm and grabbed a pack of Marlboros from the side of the nightstand, taking a cigarette from the box and started to grab the red lighter next to the crumpled, half-rusty paper pack. The cigarette between his pink lips already gave him a sense of pleasure, as if he had already lit it. The snap of the lighter being lit made the girl turn, as if the noise had disturbed the thoughts that were wandering in her head.

"Scared?" He asked, taking the cigarette between his fingers, so he could articulate his words well and show her his confident, arrogant little smile. He wanted to show her how attractive he was. She stopped and looked at him. She was pacing around the room in a bra and cheap jeans she had bought in Indiana that spring, looking for something.

"No." She said seriously and went back to searching nervously, trying to leave the room as soon as possible. He lit the cigarette and closed his eyes, while the taste of tobacco filled his brain with pleasure and calm, almost to the point of fogging it. He inhaled, savored the sensation of nicotine and then slowly let the smoke slip out of his mouth, trying to slow down the moment and make it last as long as possible. The smoke dissolved into the air, invisible, but the heavy smell made the atmosphere suffocating, at least for her, who was starting to feel out of breath.

"What are you looking for, honey?" he asked her, while his provocative smile took on an air more amused than attractive. "Nothing." She said, absentmindedly, while moving everything she found at hand: shirts, sheet music, song lyrics, bottles of vodka and some cocaine hidden in the most remote corners.

"Tell me what you're looking for, maybe I can help you." He spoke to her in a soft and reassuring voice, she found herself on the verge of vomiting from the guilt of the boy's kind and sincere tone.

"My shirt." She gave in, hoping that he would find it and that she could finally leave that room, maybe along with it the feeling of dirtiness that was becoming more and more frequent. It was a strange feeling, that certainly didn't belong to the good girl she was, the street changes people, I guess. He looked around, then lifted the white and messy sheets, looking for the shirt of the girl in front of him.

She looked at him nervously, she seemed uncomfortable, she didn't want to continue looking at the boy's naked chest sitting in the double bed, still warm and clean, perfect for spending the morning in bed, together. She kept looking, and so did he, still sitting comfortably on the bed.

"You look good, without your shirt, I mean... I mean, you look good with your shirt on, but you know..." He started babbling. It happened to him every time he talked to a girl he liked: he'd babbling and stammering compliments.

"Just look for my shirt, please." She begged him and he started looking again.

He found more than he could have imagined among the sheets: used condoms, some coke leftovers and condom wrappers. He felt a slight urge to vomit as he looked at the dirty scraps.

She was looking in a wooden cabinet with a couple of drawers. The cabinet was a mess too. There were chopsticks, magazines, letters, photos... The photos were mostly of Tommy as a child with his family and most of the letters were addressed to David Lee Thomas Bass and Vassiki Papadimitriou or from them. They were yellowish and smelled like books. Some were in better condition than others, but Tommy seemed to care about every single one of them.

As she was moving sweaty shirts and wands full of signatures, something fell at her feet. Something small, because it didn't make much noise. The thought of the shirt left her mind for a moment and she looked down at the small object that had fallen.

She bent down to pick it up and put it back in its place, if she had one, but as soon as she picked it up she noticed how out of place the object was in that messy and dirty room. It looked like it had ended up there by accident, like someone had lost it in Tommy's room and now he had it. It gave her the idea of something priceless, even if it probably wasn't.

It was a small black velvety box, the surface was so soft to the touch that she rubbed her thumb a couple of times over it before opening it. Inside was a ring. A small silver ring, thin and shiny. She looked at it, motionless, for a few seconds.

"Found your shirt" He said, out of nowhere, getting up from the bed and standing behind her, looking at the open box in her hands.

"I didn't know you had a girlfriend." She muttered, feeling worse. Her eyes lowered to the ring that shone under her eyes.

"A girl you want to marry." She added, clutching the box.

"She's not my girlfriend, not yet anyway." He said, resting his chin on her shoulder and caressing her hips. "It was for you, anyway." He finished.
