TRANS PEOPLE BELONG IN SPORTS. TRANS PEOPLE BELONG.
Hey artists, C. Spike Trotman, founder of Iron Circus Comics, just posted an invaluable thread on depicting different types of black hair. Iād do the thing where you screencap the whole thread and post it but itās just too long (which is great because itās a whole lot of useful information!) Give her a follow while youāre there.
Anyway, go check it out. I just wanted to save it and share it because I didnāt know how much I didnāt know!
This is an amazing resource, not only for artists, but for writers too! I love this!
{ID - tweet from @/Iron_Spike that reads, āBlack Hair for Non-Black Artists: a Cheat Sheet Thread. Hi, folks! Just spur-of-the-moment decided to put together some reference for folks who want to draw/model black characters in their work, but arent confident they wonāt make simple, obvious mistakes w/r/t black hair. END ID}
I noticed in the comments that some people canāt see the thread, so I took screenshots for y'all!
More will come in reblogs, since tumblr has an image limit
@creatingblackcharacters !!!
everyone seems to be doing quite well
reblog if you're pro sexualization for pervert purposes in art
Until death, all defeat is psychological.
Saw a tweet about mamdani solving the astrophage crisis and now im just imagining them sending mamdani to space
This came to me at 3pm in the afternoon
[trying not to vaguepost] sometimes a post on my dashboard says something i dont agree with
āI think white gay people feel cheated because they were born, in principle, into a society in which they were supposed to be safe. The anomaly of their sexuality puts them in danger, unexpectedly. Their reaction seems to me in direct proportion to the sense of feeling cheated of the advantages which accrue to white people in a white society. Thereās an element, it has always seemed to me, of bewilderment and complaint. Now that may sound very harsh, but the gay world as such is no more prepared to accept black people than anywhere else in society. Itās a very hermetically sealed world with very unattractive features, including racism.ā

Your friendās unpublished fic idea is kind of a dead wife
i also want to read this guyās dead wife
It's the way it was a simple, objective statement. White allyship 101. "White trans ppl can be oppressors too." Yes. Because Whiteness brings systemic power over their peers of color, even if you are in some way marginalized yourself. Queerness does not cancel out racism. We've talked about this. We've talked about white privilege and what it does and doesn't mean. These were conversations everyone swore they were having in 2016. š And now a blow up of fragility on par with the conservatives we're supposedly up against together. What even.
And I'm not trans so it's not like it's my right to stand here and speak for anybody who is. But from the perspective of Blackness and Bisexuality, of KNOWING that no amount of being queer has ever prevented white queer folks from being racist to me, despite the shared reality that is so long as you buy into white supremacy for your own benefit you will never break your own chains of homophobia and enforcement of gender....

trans poc, please i beg of you get transition inspo of people with your ethnicity
i was incredibly dysphoric about my round face and softer features until i started looking at the faces of hispanic men and realized that those features werenāt feminine at all, they were ethnic features white supremacy had conditioned me to see as less masculine
your ethnic features are beautiful, and you do not need to look european to look masculine or feminine
hi um sorry to break it to you but giving medical advice to strangers on the internet is both based and helpful
šš„¹ you're so right, Anon. Information about our bodies should be readily available to everyone and its a shame its often so difficult to access and understand! I guess I'll have to keep on sharing! š«”š
